Doesn’t look like much and the servers are a bit amateurish(perfectly friendly, though). But the sandwiches are surprisingly good. Easy, comfortable vibe. Nice place for a relaxed lunch.

We wandered into Café Dulac on a whim after an afternoon at Barney’s down the street. We had some great, authentic Dutch food and enjoyed the atmosphere. The place feels like an old style theatre in a way. The service was great and the place felt clean. We enjoyed our meals, but the place gets five stars for two reasons: the best apple pie we had on our trip(yes, over the apple pie at Winkel 43) AND they had a restaurant cat! If you’re not into cats, this isn’t the place for you, but we loved him. He’s completely white like a goose, but he was particularly memorable for his one blue eye and one green eye. The cat came over to us between courses to meet us. He was very respectful and didn’t beg and we found him very sweet and entertaining. A memorable evening! I could see us returning to Dulac if we make a return trip to Amsterdam.

Looking for a cool quiet place to have a drink? This is the spot. Good food and good service. They have extra cold Heineken which is a local beer and the prices are reasonable.

Well, won’t come back here. Staff did not give any attention(not asking for extra drinks, your order, etc). Both toilet and payment terminal were out of service. Food was okay(neither excellent nor too bad).

Located on one of Amsterdam’s funnest streets, the place has an artsy atmosphere and discounts for students. The food is affordable but was decidedly bland in taste and way too greasy when I was there. The servers are very friendly, but their performance is undistinguished. Good selection of beers.

When I was studying abroad, Café Dulac was probably my favorite place to hang out with my friends who lived in the dorm. The food is great, for starters. It was a little too pricey for me, especially from a student on a budget, but I worked with it. When the billiards table was free, it was great playing with friends while drinking a Grolsch or Heineken or their preferred beverage of choice. It was also a fun hangout whenever there was a football game going on(soccer, not American, of course.) Whenever I have a chance to come back to Europe, I’m definitely making it a point to come eat dinner here if I’m in the area. The price is a little higher than I would like, and I could probably find a cheaper meal close by, but the memories of great food, nice staff, and fun memories with friends will always have me come back every time I’m in the City.

Went there with friends on a busy Friday night. The Café Dulac is a little hard to identify from the outside as they are redoing the signs. The interior is nice, but is not a place for a quiet dinner. The acoustics keep make the dinner crowd loud, but that matches with the lively décor, so its a good fit. The menu is varied. A basket of freshly baked bread is served up right away with a plate of four different spreads. The most popular item is the grilled rib-eye steak smothered with green peppercorn sauce(see attached picture) We all ordered that, I ordered mine medium rare and it was just that. The peppercorn sauce is very good with plenty of the mildly spicy peppercorns. A bowl of steamed vegetables with a spoon of garlic butter accompanies the steak. I’ll be back.

Discovered this bar while wandering around Amsterdam and it’s amazing. Such brilliant décor inside. A pool table. Good wines. It’s one of my favourite bars of all time. I didn’t try the food, but it was very busy around dinner time & the dishes I saw looked very tasty. Just generally highly recommended.
