The Attic worked out well for our group dinner. The food was great(I had the risotto, the ribs were a favourite with others in the group). I didn’t bother with an entrée because I was so hungry and that’s just as well because the main was such a generous portion. I had absolutely no room for dessert. The outdoor/balcony area is a great place to start especially if you’re the one that always arrives first. Cute view and little tables to stand around. Mission bay beach is across the road so expect a bit of chilly wind.

I stand by my review. It’s not my favorite place. I had drinks for a friends birthday here after I wrote this review. Bar staff is friendly. Honestly it’s not the coolest place in town. Really though, Mission Bay isn’t exactly a destination for hipsters or anyone craving anything artistic or cool. It’s fine if you want a $ 10 glass of wine poured right to the line and average nothing type music. Don’t expect anything more though.

I enjoyed the lovely vibe here. Some beautiful scenery sitting on the balcony overlooking the bay, and a warm, wooden interior make it a nice place to be. The service was fast, but for some reason, the lady on duty seemed disapproving that we didn’t order more than drinks. She kept coming and asking us if we needed anything else, and looked incredibly sour when we said ‘No, thank you’ each time. This was a Sunday afternoon, and hardly anyone was there, so it certainly wasn’t a seating issue. I felt like she was going to ask us to leave at one point. Bear with me, but I don’t want to feel pressured into buying more or leaving early. I hope she was just having a bad day and this isn’t a normal reflection of customer service here.

Had drinks after finishing up dinner at De Fontien. Service was OK. The waitress forgot one of our long blacks. Not a big deal as she was nice enough and got us the third. The restaurant seems like it would be good for groups and if your near the windows you have a good view of the water. They also had some flyers up noting they have live music although there wasn’t any when we were there(it was only a Tuesday night).

We had a company birthday here. The nibbles were pretty good, nice bartenders and a lot of alcohol drinks to choose from. The interior is interesting too: fireplace, nice leather armchairs and dimmed lighting. The staff was pretty polite and helpful.

Attic Bar is one of my favourite places to meet friends for a drink during the evening or a coffee in the weekend. They have a beautiful location in Mission Bay up a level from the street, so its quite enjoyable to grab a seat outside in the summer breeze and watch all the cars and people go by. However even when its a bit cooler in winter, Attic is still my place of choice, as they have a really slick, modern interior that was put in place in 2009 when they opened, and also really perfect lighting(not too bright, not too dark!). Attic also have a selection of food on offer, from shared platters to hearty dinner meals; these are all the standard price of what you’d expect in Mission Bay though so not super cheap(15 – 25 for lunch, 22 – 30 for dinner, 12 for desserts). Something good to note is that every Tuesday they do a movie-dinner deal with Berkeley cinemas down the road for $ 45, which includes a main meal, dessert and a movie ticket. Definitely a possibile option for a nice evening out during the week.

The Attic is a great place for a quiet drink. I have visited The Attic during the winter months as it provides an intimate, cosy atmosphere with the interior similar to that of a mountain cabin, which I guess is similar to that of an attic(aptly named). The Attic have a solid wine list, and as a rare wine drinker I like having a decent glass when I do. There is a great area at the back with leather couches, a brilliant spot to isolate yourself from crowds for a chat. I have a soft spot for any places in Mission Bay, or on the waterfront, that have a view, as I think location should be made the most of. The Attic has done this and the quaint deck seems to fit with the overall interior of the bar, in terms of maintaining the intimacy.

The Attic Bar and Restaurant has a fantastic outdoor balcony area that you have to be quick to snap up a seat. The balcony has views over Mission Bay, great for people watching, and you feel seperated from the other diners and drinkers on the balcony due to the décor and such. The menu is really yummy, I am a big fan of the mini burgers– blue cheese and lamb! And the wine list is pretty nice but that also comes with a pricetag. Cute for a date night, or a bunch of mates out on the deck

There isn’t one place I have frequented more in the last two years than The Attic. One of my favourite spots in Mission Bay, it has a great view that goes nicely with a cold pint of your fancy and their delicious«Snattics.» The entrance is tucked away on Tamaki Drive so be sure to keep your eyes peeled. While a few menu changes have happened over the course of my visits, they’ve kept to their roots and just continued to improve on an already great menu. I’m a big lover of their Attic tasting plate– if you’re a first timer this is a great way to get a bit of everything at a fraction of the price. I enjoy places that cater for drinks and nibbles as well as a full dinner meal, and The Attic executes both of these quite well. There’s plenty of seating available, from outdoor tables and stools to warm fireside couches– so no matter the occasion, weather or appetite, there’s something at The Attic for everyone.
