I really wish we had more places like this state side. A true smörgåsbord of quality sushi at a moments notice. I’ve seen«restaurants» like this in places like New York but I feel the fail to deliver. Couple this with the price and it really is hard to beat. A full sushi lunch plus drink for$ 11.00NZ, about $ 7.00US? Come on!!! If I have more time here I’m afford I would be here every day.

Fresh, fast and delicious! Makis are huge and the price is fine. The employees are sometimes hard to understand but they’re trying their best. You can reach the Albert Park in 10 minutes within easy walking distance. It’s definitely worth it taking your meal in this little oasis. All in all — highly recommended!

Good products for a good price, this is that come in my mind when I thinking about Sushi Pac. Just near Bitromart, a smiling team proposes a various choice of Japanese specialty : Sushi, maki, california and overs good things. It’s fresh, well prepared and really cheap(something like 1 $ or 2 $ per roll). Sushi pac it’s the perfect spot if you wan’t to lunch quickly and take pleasure in eating; You must to try it !

To be honest, if I saw a place like this at home I wouldn’t trust it and would skip it. I’m happy that I gave Sushi Pac a chance and can’t believe how great of quality, fresh, and inexpensive the fish is! If you’re hungry and looking to grab something quick, this is the spot. The way this place works is pretty simple. They have a bunch of sushi displayed and you pay per piece. The plus of this is that you get to mix and match and select as much or little that you would like. We spent $ 20NZ(About $ 13 in US dollars) which fed two of us and we were stuffed! I enjoyed their spicy chicken roll, salmon nigiri, bbq salmon, and fresh salmon with cream cheese roll. We went back to buy more salmon nigiri and bbq salmon because it was that good. Being a grab and go sushi place there aren’t tables outside of the restaurant. However, we walked around the corner and found some empty tables and enjoyed our lunch there. If you’re in downtown Auckland and want a quick lunch, stop here!

Great visual display, smiling and friendly staff, very good, fresh quality, and inexpensive prices. What more do you need? I really enjoyed my spicy tuna, and the grilled eel. I’ll look forward to returning!!!

I am admittedly prudish about my sushi. It’s my go-to food when I want something light, healthy and tasty. So when staying in downtown Auckland, Sushi Pac is the obvious choice(based on Unilocal,at least). I walked up to the place expecting to get a solo table and have a relaxing lunch. One catch, there are no tables. It’s a grab n go place(clearly I didn’t read the reviews closely) that sells sushi by the piece, even the rolls are sold this way. So after a few, perplexing moments of reconciling reality with my expectations — I realized that this was brilliant. I could get a bit of everything! And I proceeded to do just that. I ordered 7 different pieces of various rolls and nigiri. Each of them was tasty and fresh(the ladies behind the counter were in a perpetual state of making rolls — everything was being bought and created quickly). And I paid about 12NZ dollars for the meal. What??? Crazy talk!!! The combination of taste, price and surprise made this place a great choice. It was a beautiful day so I took my sushi to the viaduct and ate it on the pier. Hilariously, two, separate groups of people have sat down near me to eat their Sushi Pac as well. So much for originality…

If I get takeaway sushi for lunch, I get Sushi Pac, it is as simple as that! Sushi Pac was recommended to me by a colleague who said their sushi were the freshest and most authentic. She should know… we work in a Japanese firm and our Japanese colleagues or visitors go to Sushi Pac. I can’t say I am a big sushi connaisseur but I can testify those sushis are delicious! I always take a BBQ salmon or BBQ scallop one, they are so good!(but probably not the healthiest) The line is always really long at lunch time but fear not! Service is always efficient so one does not have to wait for long before being able to enjoy their sushi. Sushi Pac also has a loyalty card but it only gets a stamp for purchases over $ 10.

Hands down the best sushi in Auckland. Now that I know better, I try to get to Sushi Pac before the lunch rush(12 – 1.30) when there isn’t a serious line. I drive into town and park in a loading zone just to go to Sushi Pac which sums up how much I love it. My favourite is anything with prawn in it, but Sushi Pac offers a lot of inventive combos that I haven’t seen anywhere else. It is also great value, with well sized pieces for $ 1, or rolls for $ 2 that are very filling.

I have reviewed so many sushi places that I must have it coming out my ears at this point. I’m impressed by Sushi Pac though so thought it worth it to tell you my thoughts on this particular sushi joint. I have rushed past this little counter on customs street many times, but I’m usually in a rush so I don’t take the time to stop. The other day however I was starving and needed something on the run so I thought why not! I think the sushi here differs to other places that I have reviewed and thoroughly enjoyed as well in that it possesses a little more flair. I had the homemade spicy sauce chicken and the BBQ salmon, about two pieces of each and oh em gee so scrumptious. The portions are big enough here that their quite filling which is good as its a little pricier than other offerings. The chicken one in particular was a particular taste combination I hadn’t tried in sushi before.

If I asked you what’s the best sushi place in Auckland what would you say? If your answer isn’t Sushi Pac then you’re wrong. No offence. This place is the business. To give you an idea of how much I love this i will tell ya that I used to walk 35 minutes each way from work at lunch to get it. Apart from tasting like a dream, it’s the freshest most value for money sushi i’ve ever had. You can get normal sized sushi or big sushi rolls that are only $ 2! My favourites are the Crispy Chicken and Salmon and Cream Cheese rolls, and the Pumpkin and Salmon flavour. Oh man, i’m contemplating going to get some just talking about it. The service is so friendly, they truly do brighten your day. The spicy miso must be tried also. A wee note, don’t be put off if there is a small queue when you turn up, it moves super fast and the small wait is worth it.

There are many many Sushi joints across Auckland but time and time again I find myself coming back to this ‘hole in the wall’ on Customs Street West. The compact operation predominantly offers California Rolls and Tamaki but and a small selection of Nigiri. The variety of fillings rivals much larger operations although I recommend the squid Tamaki, Chicken Katsu California Roll and the Crayfish seaweed wrap. A note to the budget conscious, SushiPac works out perhaps $ 1 – 2 more than some other places, but the quality and taste here justifies the additional expenditure. Midweek lunchtime quite a queue can form but the efficient(and plentiful) staff keep things moving quickly so you will never wait more than a couple of minutes, and believe me, it’s worth it.
