Nandos

Good location (near the beach, around 150m from the beach) and good value, the food was cooked well and the staff was warm & helpful (my mother took quite a while to pick what she wanted and they happily helped her)
My only complaints would be that:
— the couches need an upgrade, every «booth» of two couches have at least one cracked couch (cracked as in it has a crack creating a hole exposing the sponge/​cushion under it)
— the water bottle lids need to be cleaned more often
Other than that, Nando’s Takapuna is a great place for a family meal with an affordable price.

Nandos is one of those fast food places that doesn’t quite feel like fast food. It’s not that it’s especially gourmet, it just seems a bit fresher and more ‘real’. I went to the Takapuna Nandos while hanging out with a friend who absolutely loves the place. I wasn’t exactly excted about it becuase there are plenty of other great options in Takapuna, but hey, yolo and all that.
Turns out it was pretty good. The place itself is really clean and has a good vibe, unlike most other fast food places it actally is a place I wanted to sit and enjoy the meal. The booths are nice, there’s proper cutlery, condiments and jugs of water which really makes it more of a restaurant. If you don’t want to eat here though, take your food just downt eh road to the beach.
The food is really tasty and the chicken breast are juicy and thick. Get it on it’s own, in wraps or burgers to varying spice degrees.
Not a bad option if you want the fast food buzz without feeling like crap afterwards.

Nandos is a bit like a posher McDs, it has elements of fast food about it but it’s a bit restaurantish too. You still have to order and pay at the counter, and choose eat in or takeaway, but if you do eat in there are lots of nice touches like proper furniture, cutlery, condiments and carafes of water that you won’t find elsewhere.
The Nando’s in Takapuna is nice because it’s not far from the beach, in an arcade on the main road, Hurstmere Rd, and it has a nice outdoor seating area in the arcade walkway where you can munch a yummy burger or salad and watch the people walking by, especially on a sunny day when the beach goers are out in force
