Great and helpful staff, they delivered very warm customer service and welcoming. I miss the crispy pork belly in the entrée, it was delicious and tasty. Well Done loop, I hope you guys could keep it up like this.

Really disappointing. I will say that the wait staff were really lovely and the service(and coffee) was good; but the food was a huge let down. I had only read/heard great things about Loop, and knowing it catered for those of us with food allergies I was keen to visit. I ordered the Coconut Yoghurt Bowl, which was supposed to be dressed with poached seasonal fruits, a cinnamon dressing and toasted coconut chips. I ordered this specifically due to a dairy intolerance, and of course, it sounded amazing. Unfortunately what I got served was a bowl of yoghurt with chopped strawberries and a handful of blueberries. I had to ask for the coconut chips, and when I questioned the sad selection of fruit and the absent cinnamon dressing, I was told that’s how it always is. The manager(?) came over and explained the kitchen had run out of fruit, but if that was the case they should have let me know, as I would have chosen something else. I honestly could have slapped that up at home and frequently do, which was why it was so disappointing! I was only charged half price, however it still feels like a ripoff considering I got nowhere near what I ordered. I won’t be returning to Loop.

great to see Tommy and friends back in business missed them when they sold the Williamson in grey lynn very good coffee, I do think they have to work on the menu for breakfasts as this is an established dinner joint so I understand that it will take a while to get the morning crowd in. Tommy’s menu was fantasic at the Williamson so bring it on mate …

Loop is a firm favourite! We recently began to follow a LCHF diet and were excited to hear this restaurant catered for people following this style of eating. The atmosphere is cool a chic(while also being sophisticated). We have had dinner for two, a family celebration, groups for dinner and a large function group — expectations were meet every time! The food is an experience your taste buds will not regret! The service is top notch — all our meals arrived at the same time(I can be fussy — and the chef was able to whip me up something not on the menu), the wait staff have mastered being attentive without being disruptive and the cheesecake… certainly worthy of a visit alone!

I was happy with this find. A light and airy dining room with simple but modern décor. One in which you never imagine you are going to get the great food you do get. Proof that Loop is in the loop when it comes to dietary trends among the healthy right now, including LCHF — Low carb high fat. My friends got the bacon + eggs(LCHF and GF). What arrives is a beautifully presented dish, refined and much more sophisticated than your regular breakfast bacon and eggs. «Bacon» turns out to be squares of soft pork belly, and the eggs are soft-boiled quail eggs encased in chorizo and squid meat, scotch-egg style. For my entrée I ordered: Prawn Tortellini, who would know pasta that is gluten free could be so light and delightful. For my main I had Roast Pork Loin with Smoked Parsnip, Rhubarb, Nut Clusters, Brussel Sprouts, Sage and Jus. I loved the idea of praline and rhubarb with my meat. Who would know you could have dessert with your dinner on the same plate. For dessert I tried my friends Black Forest Fondant with Griottines Cherries, Pistachio, Vanilla Cream, Black Cherry Ice Cream. What a gorgeously presented plate. Made me want to go back to have a plate of my own. I left knowing I was free from gluten but had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. The only downer is that the service could have been better and they would have got another glass of wine out of me if only they had come and asked. The wait was also a little long for each course.

Great place if you like to experiment with your taste buds. They have a quirky way of having a small amount of many items on a plate. I enjoyed it but if you like volume of your favourite dish it’s not for you. It gave me ideas of what to try with my own cooking which is one of the reasons I go out for a meal.

Sorry Loop, I really didn’t expect to be giving you 2 stars. It all started brilliantly, six diners, set menu, recommended by friends. Nicely decorated space, open kitchen at the rear, lovely tiled walls behind the bar(I’ve got a thing about tiles!). The set menu provided two choices for all three courses and a glass of champagne(one diner wanted a glass of wine instead, not possible, in the end they had to pay for the wine and also have the champagne they didn’t want… makes no sense). Having said that, the food looked lovely on the plate — decorative flowers, thinly sliced vegetables, sauces, herbs. I found the entrée(zucchini flower stuffed with goats cheese and lightly battered) good. The main dish needed lots of seasoning to bring out any flavour, also not sure nuts go with slow cooked beef. Dessert looked pretty, however the addition of chewy apricots to the semifreddo ruined my soft and creamy expectations(thought it would have been a purée). Am I getting harder to please? A quick chat to one of my dining companions confirmed they felt the same way, didn’t taste as good as it looked.

Loop is a bistro on New North Road in Kingsland. I wasn’t quite sure which category to place this eatery but since its open for lunch and dinner I thought«Restaurants» would suit best. This is a great place for somewhere casual to eat, for comforting homey meals. The meals are designed for sharing and individual portions. We came for lunch, so I didn’t want anything too heavy. The roasted cauliflower soup was delicious. It was a great texture — not too think and not too runny. I don’t actually eat pork very often — but I took a nib to try the flavour and they were relatively tasty. A big plus was the butter — Im pretty sure they used Al Browns Smoked Butter. — If you haven’t tried this butter — man its delicious and can be bought at most supermarkets i think. The atmosphere is warm, quiet and comforting. Great place for a chilled out lunch, dinner or drink. Stylish and unpretentious LOOP has welcoming staff and food to match. It looks terrific on the plate and delivers on taste as well. It’s a smart menu filled with clever touches that is both inventive and delicious. If you’re after something a bit different that will quickly become a favourite haunt then I can recommend you get in the LOOP.
