This place is not as busy as el fogon, but their food is still pretty good and super cheap. I only ordered the al pastor tacos and they were very flavorful.

Came here upon a recommendation from our airbnb host, as she had raved about the sirloin tacos here! We headed there around 1:30pm to grab some tacos on the way to the airport, but sadly, they were already out of sirloin so we didn’t get to try it… :(. We opted instead to get some chorizo tacos and carne asado tacos — which were ok, but took a very long time to come out, and then were pretty soggy within 5 or so minutes. We found out that there are at least two locations for this place — the other a couple blocks away and as we drove by, we saw that they were busy and had a lot of sirloin roasting … next time will try that place out!

This restaurant has high reviews that convinced my husband and I to give this restaurant a try. It is a restaurant we are glad we did not miss! The price was very reasonable! We got 2 beers, 2 waters, 2 burritos(beef and sirloin) and guacamole dip. The entire dinner cost us only $ 23! Not only that, but the waiters were very attentive and punctual. Whatever on our table that got emptied, they either took it away or refilled it quickly. They also took time to explain to us what dishes consisted of and what they recommended. We felt like they were there to make sure our dinner was pleasant!

Slightly off the beaten path, away from the overpriced touristy spots along 5th. avenue you will find Don Sirloin. Here you will find traditional Mexican tacos at a very reasonable price, all the meats are cooked to order served with fresh salsa. My favorite were the arrachera tacos(skirt steak) perfectly marinated and then loaded with salsa. If you want some really good cheap tacos, this is the place.

This place is a vhain but their food is good. I do recommend it for a relatively quick bite. There arracherra and guac are good. I found the sirloin to be a little greasy. This patticular location is nice and on a corner so you get nice breezes in the restaurant. The service us good there.

Amazing beef tacos, fajitas, and more! Fresh salsas with jalapeños and pineapple really set off the flavor explosion at this place. Affordable at about 130 pesos for a three taco set and the beef fajitas. Maybe order a beer or agua to put out the fire from the salsa!

Don Sirloin was recommended by the divemaster that had recommended our dinner the night before. I had chicken tacos, and my daughter had sirloin tacos, and we ordered some extra queso. The food was amazing. It turns out that there are several locations of Don Sirloin. We ate at the one on 30th Avenue, and later walked past a location on Av. Constituyentes. When we arrived for dinner on Monday night, the place was completely empty. By the time we left, there were several tables of customers. Don Sirloin has their sirloin on a trompo(large revolving spit like you see for Greek gyros). The server brought us several salsas and some guacamole for our tacos, and we ordered some extra queso, which was not necessary, it turned out. The tacos were AMAZING. I mean, they were juicy, perfectly spiced, fresh and delicious. I wanted to go back to Don Sirloin on a different night, it was so good. My daughter liked El Fogon chicken better because it was spicier. We both agreed that the sirloin was better at Don Sirloin.

Very good food for a very casual place. Tried to go to El Fongo but the place was packed so came here instead. Was busy also and the 3 of us was happy with the decision. Service was very good and they spoke some English which helped. Had the nachos, the guacamole and we each had an entrée(all beef) and left satisfied. They also had 3 different bottles of salsa or sauce for the tacos and they all tasted great(My favorite was the green bottle which had more heat than the others). Good place to eat some authentic food and I recommend checking it out if you are close to Quinta(which most people seem to be when in Playa).

Tasty tacos and open early and late, making it extremely convenient. We only tried the sirloin tacos and although a thicker cut than the shredded Barbacoa meat I’m used to, it’s tender, juicy and delicious. 17 pesos a taco makes a very affordable meal or late night snack.

this seems like the tourist version of a Mexican taco joint. I initially had lowered expectations based on the number of fellow foreigners mingling with us. probably not gonna get authentic tacos here. I was pleasantly surprised. perfectly authentic? maybe not, but these are tasty things with awesome meat. better quality meat than you’d find elsewhere. tasted different from the more«real» places I went to, but really great in a different way. don’t be put off by the touristy crowds. give the place a try. suggest the horchata a too!

Outstanding place for sirloin and pork tacos. The meat is cooking on the spit out front. All were very tasty and the meat was moist. Beans were great. Almost like a soup and has pork and chorizo in it. Comes with chips. Definitely adding don sirloin to one of our favs in Playa.

Came here with friends after partying for late-night munchies! Ordered the al pastor, arrachera, and sirloin– we ordered a bunch and tried some with pineapple jalapeño salsa(which is divine!), and some with cheese! The faves ranked in order were the sirloin, arrachera, and then al pastor.(I loved the pastor because it was slightly sweet, but the guys didn’t really care for it– they were in love with the sirloin!) I recommend this spot for anyone looking to grab quick and easy food at any time of night or day!

Best taco place I ate at while visiting Playa del Carmen last month. Al pastor is my favorite taco meat in the U.S. But then I tried Don Sirloin… and wow, no comparison. I could die happy eating the al pastor here. They have two glorious meat spits, one for pastor and one for sirloin. Watching the guy cut the meat off the spit right onto the taco was like a work of art. Meat, meat, meat, pineapple, and repeat. We split the«Taquiza Don Sirloin» meal for 4. It came with sirloin, pastor, arrachera, pollo, queso con chorizo, rajas con crema(poblanos), beans, guac, and tortillas. Yes, yes, and yes. Why is everything sooo good? Meats are perfectly seasoned and juicy, salsas are spicy, and the queso… mmm. A must try in Playa del Carmen! Note, there are multiple locations. Addresses from their website: –Av. 10 between Calle 12 and 14 –Av. Constituents &25 –Av. 30 between Calle 32 and 34.

This is your very basic late night taco stand– Basic yes delicious yes! I had the sirloin and it was tender and juicy some of the best I’ve had here in play a Del Carmen. It was served with a pineapple and jalapeño salsa that was also excellent. I’ll be back for more!
