My family seriously appreciates authentic Taiwanese food if we can actually get our hands on them here. There have been so many so-called Taiwanese street food and restaurants, but none of them has ever impressed my Taiwanese mother and the rest of our family. My sibling and I are very passionate about our Taiwanese food. So far, nothing has managed to satisfy our cravings for authentic Taiwanese flavors besides Fong Lye Tea House and Fong Lye Taiwan Fusion Cuisine Restaurant, which is under the same company as Kiki at Suria KLCC. Both Fong Lye restaurants at Gardens Mall are located beside each other with their own distinct concept. Fong Lye Taiwan Fusion Cuisine Restaurant focuses more on combination of Taiwanese Steamboat, teppanyaki & stir fried dishes. This establishment is very well-appointed, as expected, with very spacious room, and a harmonious, inviting design. The soothing ambiance is every bit relaxing and allows you to eat comfortably. I absolutely love the«Choy Boh» with Egg(RM14.00++), Fried Clams with Hairy Gourd(RM18.00), Sweet Potato Porridge(RM3.00++), and our family fav, the Cold Oolong Passion Fruit Tea(RM9.50++). The Choy Boh with Egg is a visual and gastronomical delight. I’m an egg person. And this is an adorable and delectable egg dish. Soft and cushion-y with crunchy bits inside. Love it. The flavors in the Cold Oolong Passion Fruit Tea is so well-balanced that it gets addictive. I have to tell myself to drink sloooooowly everytime. So annoying. Because I can never finish the 2nd glass. It’s a pretty tall and lanky glass, mind you. One other thing that has always impressed me about Fong Lye is its impeccable, attentive service. The staff are always very welcoming and courteous, serving you in their best manners. Can’t remember a time that I did not enjoy my meals at Fong Lye. Still definitely one of my favourite places to please my Taiwanese cravings.
