Quite possibly one of the better Din Tai Fungs I’ve been to. XLBs here are just as good, if not better than the ones stateside, and definitely an improvement over the ones I’ve been to in Tokyo/Seoul(stay away from the Din Tai Fung at the Times Square Mall in Seoul unless you want to try some of the worst XLBs you’ve ever had in your life period!) Everything was pretty much to standard, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen the truffles XLB at any other location before, and it was mind-blowing to say the least. We ordered the dan dan noodles, stir fried choy sum, and the combination XLB set with extra truffle XLB and the meal came out to be around 15USD per person which is a tad pricy for Din Tai Fung, but definitely worth the price. I strongly recommend this place if you get tired of eating Nasi Goreng or the amazing Malaysian street food.

Like most restaurants in mid valley or the gardens, it is crowded during lunch and dinner time. But don’t let the line put you off because their xiao long pau is super good though a little pricey. Other food like their noodles are also not bad. What I love most is their superb service. Also, they provide you a basket to put your shopping bags and handbags.

This restaurant is located at the ground floor in The Gardens Mall and in my opinion it has one of the best«Xiao Long Bao» which is heavenly. I love the ones with with crab meat and pork. When I come here for a meal, I always order the same…“Xiao Long Bao”. it is a little expensive, but from time to time is worth it. The place is always full, and I like the fact that they have chairs at the entrance, in order to wait to be seated. Another great aspect of the place is the fact that they have open kitchen where you can see the chefs behind the glass. My advice here is to go with a big group of friends and order from everything so you can share. All the food is delicious and you have to try everything. I will definitely come here again.

Here is the heaven of «Xiao Long Bao», i think their«Xiao Long Bao» is the closer to what i had before back to Shanghai so far. The thin skin that wrapped with pork meats and soup inside is so fragile to hold but it’s so tasty to eat. Here’s the trick: use your chopstick to hold the head of the bun, place it in your spoon, tear off the small part of the skin, suck the savory soup first before you eat the whole bun. You can mix it with vinegar and slices of ginger for extra taste. It’s really tasty that i, myself can finish the whole 6 pieces. I also love the«Xiao Long Bao» with crab meat. I’m here mainly for their«Xiao Long Bao» only, although is a bit pricey but is definitely worth for money. About their other dishes, i personally feel so so only. It’s always crowded, therefore there will be chairs prepared for you to sit while wait for your table. It’s quite systematic as it’s go with number, which mean you can take your number and wait till they call. If no one answer, they will forgo it and call for the next one. A big glass-wall of open kitchen in front of the restaurant to let you see how they get their foods done, mainly dim sum is showing off here.

Din tai fung is a chain of chinese dim sum restaurants recognized all over the world. They specialize in the art of dim sum I’d say. So if your a fan of dim sum, this would be a great place for you to check out. One of my favorites would definitely have to be the Xiao Long Bao which were steaming hot & full of flavor. You’d definitely want to try a few different dishes for sharing, so for me that was the shredded pork & shrimp fried rice, hot & sour soup and last but least the shrimp dumplings. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone whose up for a variety of authentic dim sum options!

Din Tai Fung has been very popular ever since they first opened up a branch in Malaysia, and the restaurant is always crowded. They are a 1 Michelin star restaurant that serves Taiwanese cuisine such as Braised Beef Noodles and Xiao Long Bao. Through the glass window at the entrance, you can see how professional the chefs are while making the Xiao Long Bao. I realised they have a high standard in the food and would not serve the ones that are not up to standard, as I saw them picking out the ones that are not perfect. Joe and I went there for an early dinner, so we were lucky to get a sit immediately. Din Tai Fung is a self-order concept. Each table will have a piece of order chit, where you’ll choose the food you want and pass the paper to the servers. Despite the crowd, the service were very fast and we did not wait too long for our food. I had the Braised Beef Noodles as usual. They were generous with the beef and the meat was tender. The broth was flavourful and I could taste the beef in it. Joe had the Dried Noodles with Shrimp Dumplings. I did not try his food but the shrimp dumplings looked delicious. The dumplings skins seems to be quite thin and the fillings were generous. Our Xiao Long Bao was amazing! The flavourful soup came oozing out the moment we broke the skin. Do not leave the Xiao Long Bao for too long because the skin will stick to the cloth underneath and you’ll have the tendency of breaking the skin while taking it. Overall, we enjoyed our meal a lot at Din Tai Fung. Although the pricing were a bit expensive, but I think it definitely worth the value.

The first Din Tai Fung in Malaysia. I never knew how big of a hype this place is till I walked pass with a friend and saw a particular article which is pasted on the exterior of this outlet. They were voted top 10 dining places by Time magazine decades ago. After reading what it is and seeing how delicately the Xiao Long Bao’s are made from the see through glass kitchen, we decided to give this place a try. The first thing you notice is how kind and pleasant the staffs are. They are attentive and friendly and always giving you that smile wihlle addressing you with utmost respect. There may be a long queue whenever you want to eat here during peak hours but they are absolutely effiecient when it comes to taking your orders and serving you your food after you’ve ordered. The quality has maintained ever since I’ve dine here since the beginning of their business. Their Xiao Long Bao is simply the best you can find in the whole KL for the price you pay.
