The«Satay» are great as well as the«Teh O Limau Panas». But why the Rest Room designed in upstairs ! :-)

Syed Bistro is one of those places where you really just sit down, relax and have a cup of Teh ice. While that may be true, the food here is decent, but not as good as its other competitors. One of their main dishes will be their tandoori, where its lush taste is hidden by time because it’s been left out for too long. Besides there, there isn’t much to say about this place, because the service is pretty good, and the drinks itself are affordable for its taste and availability. Of course, there are plenty of other choices for you to go to, but if you are in the vicinity, I am pretty sure that this is one of the top choices for you to go to.

This is one of the most frequent mamak I go to to yamcha with my friends. They have 2 floors, being able to accommodate quite a lot of people. Its quite a happening mamak as every time I’m here it’ll always be crowded, excluding the times when there’s a football match going on. Although I don’t fancy the food here, I usually just have drinks when I go there. Its also not too far from where I live. The second floor closes at about 12 so if you’re planning to stay till late I suggest you sit downstairs. They have pretty decent shisha and the person that serves the shisha is quite friendly. The other good thing about this mamak is the parking space; very convenient and there isn’t a time when I couldn’t find parking.

Recommended by a friend for their Nasi Briyani, I ordered a set only to be told that the Chicken that goes with it is finished, but I wanted the rice anyway and I told them that I’d take the other selections of chicken from the front. My friends ordered the garlic naan and tandoori. The naan & tandoori came pretty quick. But I waited, and waited for my rice that did not appear. So I asked them again, to which the guy then brought over after a few minutes because he had forgotten the first time. Okay, that’s fine. We weren’t given cutleries when my friends were served either, they waited for a bit but then decided to just get up and get it ourselves. Food wise, I thought my rice was cooked well, it was very tasty and rich, the sweet cucumber acar went pretty well with it. I could taste the ghee in my rice, so I was trying not to calorie count. The naan was good as well, fluffy enough and the tandoori portion was good and chicken not dried out. I didn’t really like the mint dipping that went with it though, I think I tasted mayonnaise in it. I asked for fish curry, and only got it the SECOND time I requested. My friend wanted more dahl and onions, of which we only got the dahl and needed to ask AGAIN for the onions. It’s almost like as though the staff is unable to remember more than one thing at a time. What I hate the most is when they walk off before fully grasping what I just said. Service was not satisfactory, I got annoyed half way through my meal. My boyfriend ordered the Mango Lassi, not knowing it was going to be served in a huge cup which I thought is unfair because we’d have to pay for that amount without prior notice. It was about RM8 or so. It tasted OK, too much sugar. For a set of Naan & Tandoori, it is about RM11. We moved and sat outside for shisha when we were done with our meal. Shisha costs about RM12 which I think is very reasonable.

My friends and I have this weekly ritual to go to this restaurant we always go there for Shisha on Saturday. This place is very special. they always give you a huge glass of juice and its at 8rm, it’s super cheap the food is also very cheap and the Shisha is at 5rm. Its so cheap you can have such a good time to hang out there and when you feel hungry you can grab some Indian food it’s definitely the best Indian restaurant in bangsar. one of those local cheap but still looks nice restaurants. They get many expats and locals. I just love this place and I love Shisha there. You are not going to forget the experience. My most favorite juice is pineapple at this place go try it its the best I have ever had.

After a big event, heavy dinner or gathering, my friends that live in Bangsar would take me here. Reason being they actually enjoy the shisha here. As for me, I would probably go for the drink or food. At one time, I tried their thosai at the wee hours and it tastes really good. For a reasonable price, I actually consume two of it. The nasi kandar I heard from my friend is actually good also but you guys should come there for dinner. The shisha price ranges from rm 12 – 15 depends on the flavor if im not mostaken cause i dont shisha. Parking is an issue during the day but during the night is as silent as the grave

Syed Bistro is one of the more famous mamak stall chains. They serve the usual local fare such as maggi goreng and the usual roti’s. However what I like about Syed is that their staff are always usually so friendly to our group of friends. Maybe its because we frequent this place so often but they always seem to be so cheerful which earns this place a few bonus points in my book as opposed to all the other mamak stalls. Their Bangsar outlet is also know for their satay which I’ve only seen at night though as I’ve never gone there during the daytime. A little tip, ask for their mee goreng mamak with their fried chicken as its really packs a punch.

I visited a couple of times the outlet from the Bangsar area, for dinner. What I like about this place is the fact that they have local food. I love local food. it’s the best. They have a big variety of food. You can order from the menu, or serve yourself from the buffet. The place offers indian food, spicy and non-spicy. it’s similar with the Mamak places around KL. What is great here, but it will take a wile until you will receive it, are the Chicken Satay. You can also try the beef ones. I heard they are delicious. What I don’t like about this place is the fact that they don’t have Butter Chicken, my favourite dish. Another think which you need to take in consideration when you visit this place is the fact that the staff doesn’t speak very good english and that it will take a lot of time fo the food to be served. The place has 2 levels, which is great. The one from above is more quite, if you wanna have a quite and relaxing meal. The price for the good is very affordable and it’s open 24h.

Syed Bistro has many branches throughout the town, but I will like to emphasize more on this branch here in Bangsar. I’m here almost every night and it sort of became a second home to me. The food here varies on what you’d ordered. As some might be just okay, but some tastes great. Personal recommendations will be the Maggi Goreng and SATAY! See how I screamed out SATAY! The satay here is exceptional, I’ve never fail to get a few sticks every time I’m here. One thing that I dislike is the space available. It is relatively a small lot for a mamak, where crowds of people flock in during the night. The struggle to find seats is real if you arrive in the later hours, especially on football nights. Yes they have projectors and screens airing live matches. Its opened 24 hours, so you nocturnals can spend your time here with good satays and drinks.
