Loads of options for breakfast and lunch if you’ll visit antipodean! We had bananapancakes with rhubarb and coconutcream and butterscotch. It comes with fresh fruit and tasjes amazing, als the yoghurt with fruit, honey and mint was super good! The cappuccino I drank was the best I had in Malaysia so far. The atmosphere is very Nice and staf very friendly. Overall: great place!

This is my first visit and I had a pleasant experience here. Staffs were attentive and food was good in my opinion. There’s no physical menu as it’s all written on the wall. So, I’ve to stand in front of the wall to see what they serve before ordering. I had the salmon omelette and a cup of cappuccino. I definitely enjoyed the cappuccino as the mixture of coffee and milk were just the right balance. I’ll definitely go back again to try other items on their menu.

I came here for the Vietnamese coffee because I had a hankering. I felt that it was quite ordinary. I also tried the waffles which were slightly better but nothing special. I do like that the air-conditioning was nice and strong. This is a good place to escape the tropical heat for a a little evening get together

The food is good but not spectacular. Their prices however are pretty high. The staff were very snobbish. We can understand if they refused to seat us because our party of 3 have not fully arrived(they made us stand at a corner to wait). However, what is unacceptable was the behaviour we faced when we told the wait staff that my friend has finally made it, I was met with a skeptical«sure or not?» paired with a look as if to imply that we were lying. Spoiled the whole brunch. Food service is slow during peak hours. We were there for sunday brunch.

Coffee here is not bad, not a hint of sourness and it’s pretty full bodied. I went there on a weekend at about 10.30am for brunch and the place was packed! I was like… this place must be pretty good. And pretty good it is. The service is good and attentive, the food was pretty good. Although I have to say, why is the place so crowded? It’s too crowded to be comfortable and the food, though good, is nothing much to shout about, you could find the same thing elsewhere and the taste and quality would be the same. The big breakfast is good-ish, the french toast with poached pear and bacon is good-ish. Would I go there again? Probably not, it’s just way too crowded to enjoy a nice brunch and a good cup of coffee. Although that last sentence would be a little harsh on the Antipodean guys, it’s not like they can do anything about the place being too crowded.

Everyone else has told you this place is awesome. I tell you the bad. First, its not halal. Bacon and stout #YoLo breakfast of champions. Second, if you come on weekend brunch you have to: 1 fight for parking. 2 fight for a table. Ps no bookings and no seating incomplete table. 3 fight possible snatch thief outside. 4 fight unforseen weather especially rain. 5 get slapped by your gf for checking out the hot white girl in bangsar. Third, you wont enjoy your meal because its going to be crowded and noisy on weekends. If you like raising your voice to talk to the person 3 feet opposite you, well okay then. Fourth, the freaking menu is on the wall. Imagine standing in middle of the walkway, figuring out what to have for breakfast and this waitress whizzes around you like the roundabout you are. PROTIP. If you like being watched for attentions sake. Sit at the table by the menu. There’s going to be alot of good looking people staring at you for 5 – 10 minutes at a time. Some people may even try to get a closer look at you.

Brought my mom and brother here during Mother’s day this year and the experience was good, despite of the crowd and they actually handled it pretty good. Of course it was not my first time here, and I have always liked their big breakfast here. But, just on a side note, my more favourable one is still that which is served at AMPM in Subang — poppysmic. We were ushered to the first floor which I did not know existed as the ground floor seating area was full. Apart from being a bit stuffy, the first floor is actually quite decently furnished too. The design is the rustic type and somewhat ‘cool’. One great thing about Antipodean is their service. Extremely friendly waiter and waitress may I say — they greet you once you’re there, and by greeting I mean that they will actually have a conversation with you. A small gesture but it could make a big difference for the day of many people, no? I tried their avocado toast this time, which was a new item on their menu. Avocado has always been one of my favourite food/fruit/vegetable and despite of the fact that I like Antipodean so much, this open-face toast was not up to my expectation. Too little avocado, thus my craving for the creamy texture was not met. But, their standard for their big breakfast is still maintained regardless of the crowd. So, that’s what my mom and brother ordered. Overall, it was still a good experience and always will go back for brunch. Check out the place for yourself!

This place is over rated. I’ve eaten at Antipodean on 4 occasions, despite never having a very good experience. I am from New Zealand myself and grew up with the café culture and this is the kind of food Antipodean mimics — except it doesn’t do it very well. I found the head waiter to be very intrusive when he noticed I was eating my meal slowly, he asked me what was wrong with the food, I replied nothing was wrong and he kept asking me why I was taking a long time to eat it. Because I am a slow eater??? The last time I went there, and from that experience I will never eat there again. I ordered a vegetarian pasta cabonara, it was actually just a bottle of heavy cream poured on some pasta with a few bits of mushroom and spinach — quite disgusting. The worst thing was that not long after I started eating I found a staple in my food. It had cut into my mouth and I had almost swallowed it. I told the manager and he comp’d my meal, big deal, you had a staple in my food — that’s really not okay. Regardless, it was a bad experience and I will never eat there again.

Service was pretty good, but that’s because I went on a weekday and not crazy enough to go on a weekend. Food was okay, coffee was fine. Don’t know if I would go back again.

Antipodean is one café that is always the talk of the town. I absolutely love the food at Antipodean especially their Big Breakfast/All Day Breakfast. I have tried Big Breakfasts in so many places but nothing comes close to what they serve here and in my opinion, it’s very reasonably price for high quality and excellent service. Antipodean is always crowded whenever I go and sometimes I’ve had to wait awhile before I was seated. If you’re going in a group, be sure to get there early. And also note that they dont sit incomplete groups so make sure everyone is there together. I have tried a few things on their menu but my all time favorite would be the Big Breakfast/All Day Breakfast. Even the other items I tried were really tasty. Their beverages such as coffee and juices are also very tasty and worth the money. Their service is amazing as they are always smiling and ever ready to get you anything you need. A really good restaurant in my opinion.

Antipodean café offers an unique experience for its customer by not having a printed menu, and having it(their menu) written on a chalk board in the restaurant. When you come in(especially for first timer), you kind of have to stand in front of the board to see what menu appeals you and inform your waiter. Even though this system of no-printed-menu might seem a little bit uncomfortable, I am not worrying much about it because I love their food selections. Their all day breakfast was my favourite. It has(toast, bacon, chicken/beef/pork sausage, baked beans, scramble egg, grilled tomatoes on it, and hands down to their bacon, it’s so cirspy and fine! I could just eat that the whole day :) Try out their carbonara as well. It might be too filling(even though their portion is not too big), and so I think one dish could be actually good for two people who don’t eat a lot. Loving the ambience of this place as well, plus good service from them. Thumbs up for antipodean!

A perfect brunch spot to visit with friends and family. Visited this place with a friend of mine because of it’s highly recommended status and I must admit that it was worth it. This place serves up an all-day Western breakfast, my friend ordered the big breakfast and once it was served right on our table, we could smell the aroma of the whole meal. I think the mushrooms dominated the dish; it was very fragrant and just compliments all the side dishes together. Antipodean is almost always packed every hour during the weekends and even though the place was packed with many people, service was still really good. When we were there, it was pretty packed and we managed to get the last available seat and yet the food came out 10 minutes right after we sat down. The only downside to this café was that the menu was plastered on one side of the wall and they didn’t had any paperback menus, so it was a struggle trying to figure out what to order you don’t sit facing the wall. But overall, it’s an easy going place to have your breakfast or brunch!

A great place for breakfast. It’s one of the cafes which serves in a unique way. They don’t have menus but only a huge chalkboard which contains everything they offer. From drinks to desserts, it is all listed out. Minimal decoration that they have in the café. On the tables are just a small cup of carnations(different colours at times) which is perfect. Waiters and waitresses are really friendly. Whatever that you need or would like to change, they will try their best to accommodate you. So, I was there for breakfast alone. *Yes, alone time* Instead of ordering the usual big breakfast(sausage, bacon, eggs, toast, some side salad), i went for something light. Avocado toast with bacon and grilled tomatoes. Since I don’t like tomatoes, i requested for a change of cherries tomatoes. The waitress politely accepted and made the changes for me. While waiting, she served me a cup of room temperature water and a bottle of water with lemon slice in it. The dish was served rather quickly. I waited for no longer 10 minutes. The toast was good. Not chewy, just nice. Avocado spread was not too thin or thick. Bacon was crispy and yummy(What bacon doesn’t taste good?!) As for drinks, I had a hot cup of honey lemon. It’s good for those who are having sore throat or not feeling well.(I was having flu and fever that day) Overall experience: 4⁄5 Price: 4⁄5(Comparing with Delicious, this is much better and the price is more towards my kind of thing) Will definitely come back again when I have the time!

On my last day of my internship last year, colleagues and I decided to celebrate at Antipodean Café in Bangsar near our workplace. I’ve never been here before and first impressions, the interior was very classy with creative little decorative items tastefully placed around the café. Everything on the menu looked good but because I was there only for a light dessert, I ordered the apple pie. Oh boy, what a mistake. The apple pie served was terrible. I’m sorry but it really was. The pie crust itself was soft, like leftover pie kind of soft. The apple filling itself was worse. By itself, it did not taste good at all. Coupled with the fact that it was served cold, as in not the chilled-in-the-fridge-cold, but the left in the open for a day kind of cold. And the price itself wasn’t cheap. Not even the ambiance can save this place from a 1 star rating.

I’m not gonna sugar coat anything, in fact, I’m gonna keep it real by saying this is my favourite go-to spot for family brunches, late night hangs as well as depressing days of over-indulging in cake — alone. However this time, I was with a friend whom I’ve not seen in a year and what not better way to catch up over good food and drinks? First of all, we were greeted with such awesome waiters who assisted us with everything. From refilling our glasses of water, to warming our welcome with a smile. They even took the time and initiative to explain the menu to us. Lucky for me and other fellow plantbased fanatics out there, there are vegetarian and vegan options available. I got one of their salads with loads of veggies topped with haloumi slices(which I could do without, not a dairy fan, sorry not sorry) drenched in a dressing that was to-die-for. Prices were pricey. Even paid almost RM10 for tea. But it was all worth it as I was in the presence of good company, soulful food and polite waiters with excellent work ethic. Did I mention that they had a good environment as well? Overall, I was NOT disappointed and I’d definitely come here again!

Where do you go if you feel like having breakfast at any point of the day? This is the place to go. Antipodean is located in Telawi, Bangsar; home to many other restaurants and cafes, and they have a whole wall of menu for you to choose from. But the reason I visit is for their Australian style all day breakfast. They have two choices of breakfast and the one I always order is their big breakfast. The portion that they serve is very generous and I would always feel full and satisfied every time I have it. They offer a lot more in their menu but I haven’t had the chance to try all of them as I am always drawn into their breakfast sets. Will definitely find a chance to try their other food offerings.

This place used to be my partners favourite place in terms of western breakfast, up until the whole«café» & «Western brekkie» craze that caught the Malaysian market by storm. Ever since then there’s much more choices to try out. Despite the increased in competition in the western food industry, this place is still holding up pretty well judging from the strong crowds that still visits this place(Me included). My favourite meal is their big breakfast set with a cup of latte and occasionally inlike to order a serving of wedges if I’m really hungry(Sounded like a glutton). A tip for those who wanted to try this place out is that apart from needing to wait for available seating, they don’t seat incomplete tables. In conclusion, this place is still a go-to place for me and my partner.

When it comes to Antipodean, you’ll see people queuing up and sometimes the line can be quite long. I once waited for 45 minutes for a table! Antipodean does not have a physical menu, instead they wrote the menu on the wall. So, if you have been seated outside, the you would have to walk in, and try to not block people’s while standing there to decide what you want. Personally, I would prefer for them to have a menu where the customer can browse through, which is more convenient for us. It seems like the Big Breakfast is a must order every time we were there. It’s a popular dish because they have almost everything in it, and the portion was quite huge too! Joe had the big breakfast, and the portion was a little bit too much for him too. Instead of going for the heavy meal, I decided to have the Eggs Benedict with Bacon. The eggs were perfectly poached, and I love the creamy egg yolk along with the crispy beef bacon. The Balinese Date Cake with Butterscotch sauce would definitely put a broad smile on all you cakes and dessert lovers. The cake is dense and generously drizzled with the butterscotch sauce. It’s a little bit too sweet for me, but Joe totally loved it.

When I first discovered this place, I went there almost every week despite having to wait for 30 – 45 minutes for a table. That was some time back. Now they have another branch in Mid Valley Shopping Mall. Hence, the queue in their main branch(Bangsar) is lesser now. I still prefer the main branch though. I’m always a western breakfast person, but I didn’t really know that I can find such delicious western breakfast here in Malaysia until someone introduce me to Antipodean. Initially, I find them awesome, but over the years, I find that their portion got smaller and their price got higher. I don’t mind paying a little more, please don’t reduce the portion. Anyway, Antipodean serve breakfast, cakes and pastries all day and from 11am onwards they serve a wide variety of western food too. One thing to take note is, they don’t sit incomplete group.

It is safe to say that I have an obsession when it comes to antipodean’s big breakfast. First, cause I loveee my bacon. Second, because they never get it wrong. Every single time I go, it tastes the same. They have pretty decent coffee, a selection of healthy juices and wine. I however have an unhealthy relationship with coffee so I never end up drinking anything but when I go there. I really like the atmosphere there because it’s super relaxing and it’s a great brunch place. Butttt, I never end up going there on weekends for brunch because it is way too crowded and the waiting time can take quite a while. And once you get in, it’s really noisy so it is really hard to make conversation.
