The place i would go to satisfy my Nasi Lemak cravings! What makes Mak Jah’s Nasi Lemak so special? I’d probably say the sambal. Sambals in Nasi Lemak is the key to a good Nasi Lemak. Dont you think so?! Mak Jah’s sambal has the perfect blend of sweet and spicy which makes it super nyums. Besides Nasi Lemak they also have a wide range of kuih melayu such as Tepung Pelita, Kuih Lapis, Kuih Gulung, Kuih Bakar and many more traditional malay kuih. Not forgetting their Roti Canai and Roti Telur accompanied by thier delicious kuah kari. This modest eatery gets filled up fast especially for breakfast, weekdays and weekends so be sure to rise up a little early if you are planning to come here otherwise it will be hard to find a place to sit. However fret not, as they do take aways so you may also enjoy their delicious food at home too! They are open as early as 7am and closes just before lunch time or as everything sells out which is always the case. I kid you not! They do re-open around 4pm or so to sell their kuihs. Mak Jah is located right at the end of the stretch of food stalls in Ampang Jaya(Naan Corner) If you are not sure where that is keep a look out for SPCA, its right beside it you wont miss it.

Saturdays and Sundays is the only days I get to wake up and enjoy breakfast at my favorite breakfast spot in Ampang Jaya — Makjah Corner. They have the most fluffy and amazing Roti Canai ever made in the world, made by a Malay(unlike most roti’s). Perhaps the difference in fluffyness texture is what makes it so irresitatble(especially with the light curry sauce). The TehTarik isn’t as sweet as most places but still has the taste, the kueh’s are all so sedap! Anyone who live in KL or Ampang area and you want amazing breakfast for your Saturdays and Sundays, do stop by at Mak Jah Corner. It is right along Jalan Kerja Air Lama which is right next to SPCA Ampang.

Mak Jah corner is a cute little Malay shop that specializes in Nasi Lemak. They also serve roti canai and sell a wide variety of nyonya kuih’s like kuih lapis, seri muka, kuih pelita etc. if you go in the morning there will be a lot of kuih to choose from. After about 1pm very few kuih and no more nasi lemak. I absolutely love the nasi lemak here paired with the beef rendang. Absolute bliss. Mak Jah corner has been around since i was a kid and it is still as popular as it was back then. If you go on a weekend be ready to line up for your nasi lemak and you’d be lucky if you find a seat as the sitting area is really small. If ever you are in or around Ampang, this place is a must try.
