Harvey Norman in Ampang Point is located on the 2nd Floor and it is huge! They have a big selection of furniture, mattresses, electrical and home entertainment items as well as a photos service centre. They few times I have browsed inside here they have been practically empty. We came here to look for a single bed for my toddler and the range here is nice but really pricey! I simply could not justify paying almost RM3,000 for a child’s bed. Another time, we were looking for a sofa but again, even the ‘sale’ price was too expensive for our budget. We did find a couple of furniture sets we loved but not enough to pay five figures for. The photo service centre is great. Staff is friendly, helpful and they know what they are doing. I’ve come here to create phonebooks for a few family members and each time the experience was made easy thanks to their staff. My only issue with them was last year during Mother’s Day, I had come about 10 days before it to create the phonebooks and the books were supposed to be ready in a couple of days. The next day though, they called and said their machine had broken down so I would have to wait a week. Still OK, but then they called again and said it hadn’t been fixed yet. I ended up giving the phonebooks a week after Mother’s Day to my mum and mother-in-law and while it was still very much appreciated, I was the one who was slightly disappointed that the books were ready late.

Harvey Norman is originally from Australia, they have wide range of Electrical, Computers, Furniture and Bedding products. Harvey Norman has now a prominent international presence with over 260 stores in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Slovenia, Singapore and Malaysia. About a year ago i bought a Philips Cake Mixer from their store located in Ampang Point. Recently one of its button was not functioning properly so i took it back to the store as it was still under warranty. Their supervisor Wilson was kind enough to assist me with my issue. My machine was still under warranty but i had forgotten to bring my warranty card and usually at most places that would be a problem. However at Harvey Norman, that wasn’t a problem as they could just check my purchase in their system. Mr Wilson was very kind and helpful towards me. A+ for customer service. The only thing that was disappointing is that i had to wait for about 4 – 8 weeks for it to be fixed. They would need to send my machine along with the others and therefore the long wait. So i decided to take it back home and take to their warehouse in Subang instead(the wait would only be 1−2days) Other than that disappointment, i think overall they are pretty awesome.
