Here’s my honest experience: Arrived to Rome from Siena by train on day 14 of a 16 day trip. We arrived somewhere in mid-afternoon. Upon arrival we were«greeted» by one of the grumpiest fellows I’ve met in my life.(I’m an EMT, grumpy fellows are my job) Of the 3 desk personalities we dealt with only 1 was even remotely respectful. Generally hotel staff will give some info about the city your in, ie: food and places to see. When I went back down to collect our passports that he had to hold on to for some reason I asked for some info. He handed me a map, said, «We are here.» When I asked for more info he looked at me like I was asking him to bear my children; he was so burdened by my request. It was shocking. Back at the room their double bed is two beds pushed together.(I know this is pretty common, just like to point it out.) The AC works, but not well. The bathroom is small and definitely not«tall friendly»… Watch your head. In the early morning, I don’t know what it is, but it’s like a marble quarry on the upper floors. It’s like people forget how to hold onto objects and drop everything on the tile floor. People run up and down the stairwell practically stomping and you can hear it all like you’re in the same room. It’s loud. There is no ice at all in this hotel.* Also, be advised that they disregard the«do not disturb» placards entirely. Being that it was the last days of our trip our stuff was strewn about everywhere and we planned to repack upon arrival on our last evening. When we returned the placard was back inside the room, bed was made, clothes(underwear included) moved either back to our bags or somewhere random. We appreciated that they cleaned, but it was all very strange. Maybe that’s how they do it in Italy? Regardless, it was an odd experience. I’m seriously surprised this is a 3 star hotel… It must be the nice rooftop terrace that bumped it up a star; that’s the only reason I bumped it up a star. It’s nice to be near Campo De Fiori, though you’re VERY centralized. Random: Taxi from the train station is about 12min and 14 euros for 2 people with bags. Honestly, you’re staying in Rome… Splurge the extra money and stay somewhere nicer.

I stayed at this hotel on my recent trip to Rome. This hotel is central to a lot of things(though near only a few major bus lines), which made it a great base point. Vatican City was a 30 minute walk one direction, and the Colosseum a 30 minute walk in the other. The breakfast that was included with the room was a typical european breakfast with plenty of variety: Pasteries, Cakes, Coffee, Tea, Yogurt, Fruit, Juice, Nutella and Toast, etc. The downside was that our room was incredibly small, and our window looked directly at a wall that had little light. It felt a little bit like staying in a small stateroom on a ship. The staff was very capable, and we had no issues with the reservation or check out process.
