Hotel Giotto

It is a decent hotel. Affordable and clean. It is within five-​minute walk to the nearest bus stop going to the Vatican (route 49), and about 15-​minute walk to the nearest Metro station (Battistini station, line A). If you come to Rome and stay the whole day in the hotel, then this is not the best place for you. But if you come to Rome, see the magnificent city spots, and only retire in this hotel, I think it would serve its purpose. As an accommodation, I would give it a three-​star rating.
The ONE-​STAR RATING here is for its restaurant. That’s the real sucker. The menu has very few selections. The photos in the menu are very deceiving. Each serving is little, tastes bland and frozen, no love put in its preparation. Also, the cutleries and glasses are not polished.
Well, breakfast buffet is okay — if you’re satisfied with coffee from the dispenser and some pastries, salami, butter and jams served.

Avoid this place at all cost. It is not worth the long walk up from the subway, it is not several minutes as the websites makes it out to be. It is in a beat up neighborhood. The room was too small and the bathroom confined and not well planned out. When you shower your body will most likely hit the window even if you’re petit. The walls are thin and you can hear everything next door. The service is horrible. When we arrived it looked like some Italian family was having trouble with their remote, which you have to pick from reception because they don’t give it to you in the room, ridiculous. And the man at the desk looked like he was yelling and not offering the family a solution about the remote not working. Even when we checked out, which we had to give ourselves another 30 minutes in order to get to the metro with our luggage, the man at reception Julian was treating us like criminals because we had to rush to get to the first metro train. He locked the doors and rudely asked where are you going? The food here is not worth it it tasted like out of a can. We had to order because this place was just too far out of city center and it was too late when we arrived to leave to go to another restaurant so we gave it a shot but it was horrible. If I could give it negative stars I would.
