This is a proper little treasure trove of a charity shop situated in Rathmines’ lively community. The second hand clothes on sale are consistently of excellent quality and well very taken care of by their previous owner — unsurprising in light of the fact that Rathmines is a fairly affluent area of South Dublin and so the model Rathmines resident would expectedly have high-quality quality clothes to ‘hand down’(lots of revered clothing labels that I would never normally be able to afford the originals of pop up in here) making what looks like an unassuming charity shop from the outside, in actuality, a bona fide anthology of vintage clothes, records, jewellery, homeware and books. You really can pick up the most original and atypical items from here, especially when it comes to the clothes that are unique, imaginative and historical all rolled into the same concoction. Any garment that can boast such credentials is a true find and this establishment does it’s best to provide you with the best haven to unearth such gems.

It might not have the ‘trendy’ image of Oxfam but this is a great little charity shop, and it’s clear that the people who work here but a great effort into encouraging customers as well as charity. Barnardos are a children’s charity which do significant work in all areas related to children and stores such as this provide some of their income. They stock a good range of clothes, toys, shoes and books and I seem to see something I’d like every time I walk past. Definitely a great place to browse for a bargain and do some good in the process!

Barnardo’s is Ireland’s leading independent children’s charity and this store helps raise money for disadvantaged Irish children. Barnardo’s of Rathmines is a quaint little store in a line of charity shops on the Rathmines Road strip. This one has a good range of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, and even has the Barnardo’s Brand New range, which features brand new clothes at heavily discounted prices. These are donated by a range of retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers. I was particularly impressed with the range of women’s shoes and boots on offer, and at the lage number of CDs and videos on sale. These guys are doing great things for the youth of Ireland, so support them, volunteer at their stores and donate your unwanted clothing.
