This bar was great! We sat at the bar, and ordered drinks. The bartenders poured very well, and the drinks were delicious. There is a 6 for $ 6 oysters. They were huge and delicious! The mussels in garlic wine sauce were amazing. The sauce adds a delightful flavor to the mussels. Lastly, the fish and chips were awesome. The fish was so juicy and fell apart. The tartar sauce was great, and the fries were cooked to perfection. The complimentary bread was awesome. I would highly recommend this place!

Went there for a wonderful date with my wife a month ago; I went back to chase that magic. It all went wrong when the hostess picked a fight with my wife. From there her tuna was served far above temperature; thereafter they gave her a raw piece as punishment for complaining. No dinner plus angry wife equals never again.

Love it. We are from CA and on our honeymoon. We stopped by because of the reviews. The owner sat us and came back later and gave us two free mugs. The food was good but the service was great. We may never make it back but if we do we are going there.

On the border of the Bronx and Yonkers, Rory Dolan’s Restaurant is best of best for Irish food and drink. There is parking which is a plus even though we took the subway to nearby Woodlawn and walked over to Rory Dolan’s so it is possible to get here by public transport on the subway or bus. For the space, it’s massive but it does not feel too large. There is the bar area, general restaurant seating and larger tables for parties in the back. On our visit, we saw a grandmother’s birthday party and other small family gatherings which we were seated near by. For St. Patrick’s Day time of year, this is a great place to go. The St. Patrick’s Day Parade in March is one of the largest in the metro NY area along McLean Ave. For Irish food, the taste, price and presentation were all perfect. After visiting some Manhattan Irish restaurants and bars, it is nice to see a place with good taste and price point. We had Irish breakfast($ 10.95) and Chicken Curry($ 11.95). The Irish Breakfast was the brunch special which came with a mimosa. The Chicken Curry was very tasty and it was on the special menu of the day. For dessert, I loved that the servers brought around a tray of all the potential dessert items. These trays are an old school way of show and tell with desserts which I liked. We had a Sherry trifle($ 5.50) which was very filling but we were already overly filled. Next time I need a solid Irish food and drink. I will be coming back to Rory’s Dolan’s Restaurant.

Despite spending a lot of my childhood visiting family in the Bronx, I don’t know much about it. This borough is as foreign to me as Brooklyn is for someone who lives on the UWS. Needless to say, if every restaurant up there was as good as Rory Dolan’s, I’d find myself up there a whole lot more often. While I can’t speak to the drinking and pub experience here, their food is excellent. We stopped by on a weekday afternoon, and found the restaurant understandably quiet. We started with a basket of complementary bread, which I would usually ignore, but Rory Dolan’s serves MINIIRISHSODABREAD. Slathered with butter, these were really incredible and too addictive to eat just one. For our mains, I went with the unadventurous roasted chicken with steamed veggies and mashed potatoes. The chicken was so tender and juicy, and seasoned really well with fresh herbs. We also tried the Irish lamb stew, which may have been the most tender lamb I’ve ever had in my life. Both were extremely hearty meals, but tasted homemade. Don’t try to escape dessert; at the end of the meal, rather than brining a menu, our server came by with a huge tray of desserts to pick from, from carrot cake to rice pudding. We went with a crème brûlée, and while it wasn’t memorable, it was still a great way to end the meal on a sweet note. Our service was very friendly but relaxed, so this may not be the best option if you’re in a hurry. In any case, this was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time and I’m definitely stopping in again next time I’m headed out of the city.

It was St. Patricks Day so I understand that it was busy. With that said, the place was very dirty and tables were uncleared everywhere. Waitress was really rude, especially when we asked what was on tap and she rolled her eyes and said«too many.» She could have at least asked what we like and made a few suggestions. Also it was obvious she was rushing us the entire time. As to the food, we ordered burgers and cheese sticks. The sticks weren’t cooked enough so the insides were cold. Also the burger was pretty terrible. It was soggy and undercooked. Guess this place holds up the outlook on Irish food in general. Bad.

The Guinness was delicious. The food was really, really salty. The service was pretty good. The place is large. The entrance smells. The complimentary breads were really good. They have a pretty big parking lot. The food was really salty.

If you really want to soak up the Irish experience, then you must head to the border of Bronx and Yonkers, where a «Little Ireland» resides. Here, you find this huge Irish Restaurant, Rory Dolan’s, which comes with a large parking lot. I know, a parking lot! This is when you know, you are no longer in New York City… They have a huge bar, and a very large dining area. Perfect for all sorts of get together and parties, and I saw there were few sections where they reserved lots of tables for parties. They brought complimentary bread, which includes Irish soda bread! It was sooooooo delicious, I could not stop myself from eating them all(yes I shared them with my husband, even thought I wanted them all to myself). Light and airy, moist and soft, and super tasty. I wanted to have it every day! We ordered Irish Breakfast which came with a choice of drink, and Irish Style Chicken Curry. They were both really tasty, and big portion. The price was very reasonable, especially compared to that of NYC restaurants. Then, there comes the desserts. The most successful way to entice customers is to bring out the dessert plate with all the desserts on it. Were we tempted? YES! Were we able to resist the temptation? NO! We ordered Sherry Trifle to share, which was really good too. I would definitely go back again!!! Read my full review of this restaurant and food on my food blog, foodlovergirl.

This place gets 4⁄5 stars. The location is good, very easy to get to and valet parking is very convenient. The ambience is also nice, dim lights, classic décor. Some of the waitresses have Irish accents which is very cool. The service was excellent, even though we had to wait 40mins to be seated(St.Patty’s day) Bathrooms are very clean. Nice full bar. I had visited Rory Dolan’s previously just for appetizers and drinks and found everything incredible. However this time around the food wasn’t over-the-top. I had shepherds pie which was bland. My friend had the turkey and mash which tasted something like frozen minute meals. We had fried mushrooms and wings which were ok. Like I said before, the space is a very cool space with an authentic Irish feel and you can meet pretty interesting people here. Do not expect to be blown away by the food.

I really love everything about Rory Dolan’s –it’s the perfect balance of a lively bar scene with a casual restaurant. I’ve dined here many times over the years and have always had a great experience. Rory Dolan’s is situated on the Yonkers/Bronx border in a largely Irish neighborhood. Woodlawn, the bordering Bronx neighborhood, contains a substantial number of Irish immigrants. It’s not uncommon to hear Irish accents among the staff at Rory’s. The bar and dining area are contiguous, it’s spacious and decorated nicely with a rich wood tone. I’ve never had trouble finding street parking but if push comes to shove they offer valet service. The staff has always been great; it’s not uncommon to see Rory walking around from table to table greeting everyone. In addition to the main dining area and bar, there’s also a separate room for private parties. The menu has a number of Irish dishes but also a good amount of American food, I commend them for a menu that really appeals to the masses — there’s a good variety of everything. Some of my go-tos are the stuffed shrimp, roast turkey platter, and the bella luna chicken. The bread basket contains(in addition to regular bread) mini Irish soda breads — a nice touch. While it’s assumed the bar is open super late, the kitchen stays open late as well — until 2 or 3am on some nights. Rory’s really has a great combination of everything — homey/relaxed atmosphere, great food, and good service. I always have a great experience here and look forward to many more good times.

Rory Dolan’s is a great neighborhood spot. They have a nice menu selection and every time we’ve eaten here, I’ve enjoyed the food. The bartenders and servers are very nice and accommodating. We’ve come for brunch, dinner and drinks before; our last visit, we came early for a paint nite and decided to have a bite and a few drinks at the bar while we waited for the paint event to start. Our bartenders were helpful and took our orders quickly, considering we had limited time to eat. Our food came out within 10 – 15 minutes after we ordered and our drinks were given to us within minutes. Hubby had a Patty Melt and I had Sliders. Everything was great and the sauce that came with my sliders was spicy! I loved it.

If there has been one bar I can rely on in Yonkers, it’s here. I spent a lot of my prime bar years in this place and although I don’t get to do the bar scene as much these days, I know I could come here any night and be fully content. I could always count on this place if I wanted to stop by for a quick drink or just hang out for several hours. The space is large inside with your choice of booths, stools, bar seating, and tables. From all my experiences over the years if you’re a person who likes to sit at the bar, I would suggest getting here early, because the seating at the bar is always packed and near impossible to get a spot after a certain time. Saturdays is probably the busiest night, though Thursdays and Fridays also get crowded. The bartenders are always quick, friendly, and attentive even though they’re clearly busy. The drinks are priced well, be it a bottle of beer to a pint of whatever. The crowds differ at times, but last time I was here I noticed quite a few ‘undesirables’ inside — but it could have just been the night I was there. I’ve never had any problems with anyone inside. The music is ok generally. This place is a restaurant during the days, which also serves at night. I have never tried any of the food here, as I always came to drink, so I can’t comment on the restaurant aspect. However I came here early evening one night a few years ago and my companion ordered some food and I caved and ordered the grilled chicken Caesar salad. Let me tell you, that salad was PERFECT. I will definitely come back and order it again and try other items. As stated earlier, the place is huge(and I’m not even referring to the party room they also have, which I never get to enter). I can usually find a comfortable spot to relax and enjoy my drinks. They have a coat check, but I’ve never used it. The parking lot is small and usually a mess. I’ve found a space in there once(on a busy Saturday night) and try to get a spot in the street. If it’s a Saturday night at 11pm, you’re going to probably have to park on a residential side street.

Amidst all of the Irish pubs that litter this area in Yonkers, Rory Dolan’s is a solid option. We made a reservation for brunch on a Saturday at 1 but it was hardly needed — the space is ginormous. Although it was pretty crowded, it still felt empty inside. That huge. The interior is bright and cheery and there are tons of holiday decorations strewn about the restaurant. I’d definitely suggest eating here around the holidays if you are looking for a cozy and festive dining experience. As for the food, it was just so-so. I ended up with a chicken panini that had swiss cheese, sun dried tomato and basil mayo. It was really greasy and the bread was hard very chewy. I opted for a salad over fries and the salad was tough to eat. All of the pieces of lettuce, tomato and onion were huge and it would have been nice if it came cut up. Instead it just looked like they threw some toppings off of a burger and on to my plate. Everyone else seemed pretty pleased with their meal, so maybe if I come back I’ll opt for something a bit more classic like chicken fingers or a burger which is what basically everyone else ordered. Otherwise, the ambiance was cherry, the service was amicable and there was plenty of variety on the menu. I’m sure that I wouldn’t mind stopping back in for a bite or a drink if I was in the area again.

First visit for brunch. Private parking, lots of seating all decked out for xmas. Friendly staff, we ordered the Irish breakfast, French toast, steak and eggs with coffee. The steak was well done the way I like, and the homefries were yum! The sausages were a bit burned on one side, but the plate portion was huge! We sat, ate and talked for 3 hours. Met Mr. Rory himself, lovely Irish man, checked on us twice and made us feel totally comfortable. Will be back for an Irish dinner!

This is a friendly place with a festive old-time steak house décor. In addition to an extensive list of drafts on tap they offer traditional pub fare in a gracious setting. Their early bird special is tough to beat: three courses with tea or coffee for $ 17. The liver and onions won hands-down over the sole(which looked and tasted more like scrod) and the mixed veggies were too long in the pot, but the tomato-basil soup was satisfying, as were the bread basket and deserts. Although some of the main plates were only«alright,» given the price and ambience we were glad we finally stopped by and definitely plan to return. There are steps to the main dining area overlooking the bar, but«entry level» tables are also available. In addition to street parking they have their own attended lot.

Great service — the waiters are Irish — cool décor and very spacious. There’s a huge bar in the center, and you can dine at a table or wooden booth. The food: The bread basket is fab, and I don’t need to tell you about the Irish soda bread. The potato leek soup was delicious, if on the salty side — but I happen to like that in a potato leek soup, so there. My lamb lollipops were delicious, as were the vegetables, mashed potatoes and sauce that accompanied the lamb. Just skip the mint jelly — it tasted like toothpaste. The lamb stew was truly stunning, and the parsnips we had as a side were so creamy and flavorful. I would return and get that stew again!
