Long wait for mediocre food. Understaffed and no personality. Won’t be rushing back. Wait wait wait. Terrible service.

We visited on Mother’s Day, which is usually the busiest restaurant day of the year. We were encouraged by how full the café was, and by how diverse the clientele was. That, for me, was the highlight of the meal. Service was slow and disorganized. The food itself came quickly once we placed the order, which was good. I didn’t much care for my Irish breakfast, but my boyfriend enjoyed his monte cristo. Based on his meal, he would like to return, and I look forward to trying something different on the menu next time. All said, I much prefer Eileen’s or Dee’s – both are walking distance from here with much better food and service.

I’ve only come here for Breakfast/Lunch time. Its usually a great experience. I order the typical omelette, homefries, and other breakfast food and never had a problem with the food. I would have given them a 5 star but I never tried their dinner food.

I absolutely love this place! Everytime I order from there I always try something different and they have yet to disappoint me. Their quesadilla are on point!!!

I don’t know why so many people complain about this diner. The service here is good and the waitresses are nice. I was an ongoing customers during the previous ownership and I must say that the food with the new owners are so much better. With the previous owners I once had a piece of Brillo on my food and my fettuccini Alfredo was soaked in a pool of oil. I honestly think people just don’t want to give the new owners a chance b/c they’re Spanish and in a predominantly Irish neighborhood. Therefore, stop it with the nonsense, this is a very good diner, with fresh food and good service.

1.5STARS For whatever reason, I tried again… Got home late a few Saturday nights ago from an extremely long 2 day drive from my brother’s funeral in Missouri & all I wanted was some good NY comfort food the next day. Let’s begin with the phone call… For some reason, the girl that answered had to keep putting me on hold to check if they had this or that. This was partially my fault as I did not realize they had changed their menu yet again! This happened to me in the past & the waitress asked what menu I was looking at & then informed me I had an old menu. Anyway, that was minor. They used to have a dish my boyfriend really liked back when the place was Kozy Korner — Ham steak with pineapple. After the changeover, they had this listed as a «daily dinner special» on the menu but told me they would only be offering it as a special on occasion(yeah, makes total sense)! So now they offer«Baked Virginia ham» instead(which I just found out). Ok fine, whatever… I went ahead & placed the order to be picked up. The Ham dinner, a Reuben sandwich with mashed potato & a large coffee with half & half light. When I went in to pickup the cashier/waitress grabbed the receipt & rambled off the order to me & stated«the coffee is in the bag»… Good enough! I paid for the order & asked her if she could please throw some extra creamers in the bag for the coffee. She told me they don’t have any creamers but said she could give me a cup with some on the side if I wanted(staring at me with a blank robotic Stepford Wife-like stare & not moving)… I said not to worry but by that time she was talking to a kid behind me & I no longer existed… When I got home… There were NO utensils, napkins, butter, salt, pepper,(mustard &/or thousand island/Russian dressing for the Reuben), or COFFEE in the bag! I will admit, again, that I usually make it a point to ask for thousand island for the Reuben but mustard is normally the default(in my past experiences)! God forbid they ask if you would like thousand island for the Reuben! I was PISSED! I drove all the way back to get my missing items. I told the lady behind the counter what happened & asked her to please give me the half & half & I would make the coffee to my liking on my own. She began pouring the creamer, caught herself, stopped & handed it to me after filling the cup with coffee about ¾ of the way. I put some creamer & she took the cup back. I asked her to add a little more coffee but she would not do it! She did apologize for the mistakes. I was so angry that I don’t even know if I mentioned that not only was the coffee not in the bag but nothing extra that you would normally get with take-out was provided! My boyfriend & I have decided to just be done with this place. By the time I got home, the food was ice cold! After ALL that… The aggravation just ruined the entire experience & took away any enjoyment. Also, the ham was made with some weird brownish gravy & my mashed potatoes were way over-salted. The Reuben was ok after having to rewarm it in the microwave… The manager did reach out after the last not so great experience but what’s the point if the people working there(wait staff/cooks) are clueless? By the looks of it, the crappy reviews outweigh the good. Might tell ya something… This place needs a serious revamping! Sorry Mclean Corner Café but… we’re out!

I went in and ordered at the counter. It took ANHOUR to get my food(a couple burgers and a wrap). This is unacceptable for diner food. They even had to look in the menu to tell the cook what was in a dish. The only reason I gave two stars is because the food tasted decent; not great just decent. But by the time you get your food and accumulate aggravation, your meal is spoiled.

This dump sucks. No wonder its always empty They can’t even cook a burger as ordered. and if u think I cant tell when u cooked my fries in old dirty oil that needed to be changed a week ago, I can. luckily, there’s 3 more diners on Yonkers ave, less than a half mile away.

Under new management and it shows. The food sucks and they can’t EVER get an order right. Three times, three bad meals, wrong order every time.

New management/ownership is a turn for the worst! My friend had an edd salad sandwich and I had the same. I requested celery and onion chopped in my egg salad. First, let me say that there was about a spoonful of egg salad on both sandwiches.(My friends looked worse because she did not want lettuce and tomato) Besides looking like a ‘kids’ order due to the lack of filling, mine came with actual celery sticks inside. WTF?! And, I got not onion. I did not complain because our food(simple things) took almost an hour to come out. By that time, I was ready to eat anything. The mozzarella sticks were not a favorite with the kids… who usually love them everywhere. One of the moms took a bite and said the cheese tastes like fake cheese. They had no stretch at all. Another friend had 2 scrambled eggs and toast. The toast had this tiny, middle of the bread swipe of butter on each piece of toast. And… the eggs! What a joke. No only was the egg in the dish tiny, but they scrambled it so much, it looked like pebbles. In other words, no fork size pieces to put in the bread to make a sandwich. My friend did try to put it in bread but all the small pieces kept falling on the plate. The old staff were outgoing and friendy. The new staff on the cold side. Not rude, but not smiling or welcoming. VERYUNHAPPYWITHTHECHANGES!

Irish food ran by hispanics thats all I need to say. The service is friendly but the food and prices suck. 1) The french onion soup tasted nasty. 2) The pancakes are as dry as an ass. 3) The chicken fingers are served with Kraft honey mustard sauce. 4) The disco fries are not waffle fries and have no gravy. 5) The bacon is fatty and under-cooked. 6) The chocolate milkshake tastes like chocolate milk.(Probably was) 7) The fish was no good. Don’t come here.

The food here is good… But don’t even think about ordering delivery… We live in a building with three entry ways within the same atrium… Each doorway has apart of the alphabet on it, so you know which direction to go for what specific bell you want… The delivery boy takes over an hour and calls me and says there is no bell for 4L… I go down stairs and see him in the other doorway… So he can’t figure out the alphabet… And gave me an attitude on top of it… I haven’t order after that experience… But decided to today… Well this time the delivery boy didn’t have my phone number… Which I def gave to the man taking the order on the phone… So I call and they are like oh the delivery boy can’t find you building… Put me on hold while they give him my phone number… He calls me and gives me the worst attitude you could imagine… Tells me they never gave him a phone number and central ave is long and he couldn’t figure it out… I asked him if he had an iPhone and he says yes… So I continue with why didn’t you put it into your maps and it would take you right here… He continues to yell at me… And tells me it’s the restaurants fault… It’s not the restaurants fault that he is an ignorant little idiot, who can’t figure out an address… This will be the last time I ever order from this diner… I don’t understand who speaks to paying customers this way… Un real!!!

Mclean Corner café is located in a very Irish neighbourhood. I visit this diner a few times when I am in this area. It is under new management my experience here in my last two visits has being very good, the food is good and the staff are very nice. But the main reason I decided to write this is that in both occasion I have been there the new owner(Alex) stop by my table to check and make sure I was happy with everything, as he did to all the customers. You just don’t get that to much anymore so good for him. I would recommend.

Let me start by saying the food is good and delivery fast. We can’t order from here anymore though because they keep ringing the bell of the 85 year old women with a walker and a broken knee that lives downstairs, yep they actually replace my customer info from grubhub with a neighbor’s last name. I’ve called about it before and the guy that answers the phone was really nice, said he fixed every thing. Called about it again this morning and the woman that answered the phone needs to learn how to speak to a customer. Told me I gave the wrong info and it was MY fault. Really? Funny grubhub still has my last name, guess it’s magic. Your staff needs to learn to read and pay attention to the customer they are selecting in the system. They especially need to learn how not to be condescending and full of attitude when they are wrong. Sad to go considering we’ve been ordering since Kozy, so about 25 years. You never treat customers like that especially such long standing ones. Guess we’ll be ordering from Riverdale Diner going forward.

Ok so this is a update to my previous review, cause I really don’t know how to delete the old one. Lol. I finally got in contact with someone from the restaurant and he was so nice about the whole situation. He offered to have the salsa and guacamole sent right over and even offered to give me a discount on my next order. There is something to be said about great customer service and making your customers happy. I really appreciate it as I work in the service industry as well and know how easy it is to alienate customers with bad service. Great job guy on the phone(didn’t get his name), I am a satisfied customer. Old review: I placed an order through grubhub for a Deluxe Mexican burger, with specifications that the fries be well done and extra crispy. I was so surprised that my order came 30 mins earlier than the predicted time of delivery, and that my fries were done exactly the way I wanted them. However, my burger was definitely not Mexican. There was not guacamole or salsa as the menu promised. I got a regular olé over done burger patty, on a way to soft bun with cheese. I tried calling them to inform them of the mix up, but was unsuccessful in getting in contact with them. I am really disappointed because I read all the wonderful reviews and expected a way better experience. Definitely won’t be order from there again

Mike and his diner is truly a real down to earth group of individuals. Me and my film crew had just finished filming a short film 2 weeks ago. Mike was really cool and understanding. Please check this diner out if you find yourself in the south side of Yonkers Thanks mike! Check out the film here!:

My husband and I come here all the time. My favorite is the curry fries. My husband’s is the beef stew over rice? The prices are average for the neighborhood. The staff is extremely nice. If you want a clean, friendly diner this is the place!

Nice small diner in the Irish section of Yonkers. They do Irish breakfast which is delicious as long as you don’t ask what the meat is. The regular breakfast is really good. I had pancakes, eggs and sausage. The pancakes were cooked light, fluffy and delicious. The eggs were done just like I like them and the sausage was delicious. The bottomless coffee was good as well. Clean, bright diner with friendly staff. There is a counter and both tables and booths. Good food and regular diner value.
