Today was the first time my family and I got a delivery order from here. The food was perfect! It was juicy and flavor full and most importantly not weighed down by oil. It arrived fast and was very hot. I tried the vegetable tempura and I am officially hooked! We will be ordering from there again definitely!

The best Chinese food in Winthrop! Everything is always fresh and delicious. Delivery is usually relatively quick and the employees are friendly. Average prices but extraordinary food! Also, they make great scorpion bowls!

Their Peking ravioli is delicious. It actually tastes healthy. The soy sauce that it comes for you to dip with has a twist— a lil spicy! This is good for those who can take a little spicy, if you can’t… You’re in trouble. Their house fried rice was kind of bland. I haven’t had the chance to try much else. but will update the review when i do!

Just had my 20th vegan dish here. Posted a picture of the salt and pepper crispy tofu. All 20 dishes have been simply outstanding. I love it here!!!

Hong Kong Dragon is a great Polynesian style restaurant. They have all the usual suspects; fried rice, lo mein, crab rangoon, Peking ravioli, beef and broccoli, egg and spring rolls, chicken wings/fingers, pork strips, fried shrimp, egg foo young, lobster sauce, shumai, crab rangoons and chicken/beef teriyaki. They offer 2 pupu platters and special kid menus(which include french fries.) They have a whole page of chefs specials, of which we always order Shangai Pan Fried Noodles, which is basically a house lo mein. In addition, they offer a special gluten free menu, along with a Dieters Delight menu; items served with white rice with optional seasonings. They do offer combo plates for eat in or take out. On top of all of that, Hong Kong Dragon has a special sampling menu(I don’t recall the name they use), but akin to a tapas menu, so you can try different items. On this, they offer seaweed salad, garden salad, I believe they have Chinese nachos and pizza as well. Service is always top notch. We have been there when it’s completely dead and more recently when there was a big party. Same attention to detail. Always warm, always friendly, always looking to please and answer questions. It is always immaculate, service area and restrooms. They have a nice lounge area; I recommend ordering the pear and the raspberry chocolate martinis for a treat. Always returning!

Overall it’s a very solid Chinese food restaurant. The restaurant is recently renovated, and seemed very clean. It has a pretty standard menu, nothing crazy but enough choice to content everyone in my group. I had tofu and vegetables, and enough to take home for another meal. I think my friends had chicken and shrimp dishes which they also enjoyed.

My absolute FAVORITE place to go for Chinese food. The food is outstanding. I have never had a bad meal. The drinks are strong and the staff is wonderful and super friendly. The owners are some of the nicest people I have ever met and make you feel like family when you come. Every time I am in the area, it’s a go to spot!

Food was good, service was ok. Very comfortable atmosphere… However at the end of our meal the check came and to my surprise a 15% gratuity had been added to our bill. There was only three in our party and the total bill came to about $ 46.00, with the gratuity added the total was about $ 53.00. I had them run my card for the full amount and it had a suggested tip amount to add again. The waiter never told us the gratuity had been added and you really had to look at the bill to notice it. I don’t know if this was just a one time mix up or a scam to get a double tip… I would just suggest everyone to look over there bill carefully.

Service is great, food is great, prices are great. Very comfortable atmosphere in dining area. Always a smile at the front door. Parking is tough sometimes but everything in the center is most nights. I won’t go any where else.

My «go-to» in Winthrop. The food is very good but the take-out service can be slow. We’ll be back.

We have been going to this place for years. Always great food and we always love the atmosphere. We decided to go last night since it has been a while. Now I don’t know if there are new owners or what but it was not the same. Food was awful. Not one thing we ordered was enjoyed! I ordered the general gaos chicken with white rice. The chicken was terrible! Well lack of chicken. It was all crunchy fried breading. My husband ordered the pork fried rice with lobster sauce and boneless spareribs and fried shrimp. The spare ribs were all fatty. The fried shrimp was all bread. The lobster sauce was not good. I don’t think we’ll be going there again! If I could put zero stars I would…

As a new Winthropian, I needed to find a good Chinese place. I enjoyed my first take out and their dumplings rock. I’ll be back to eat in!

My family and I come here regularly and we love the food here. The staff is so friendly, and the prices are extremely reasonable. We also order delivery from Hong Kong Dragon at least once a week and are always impressed with the punctual service that they provide. Try the vegetable dumplings, they are absolutely delicious.

You order Chinese take out cause it’s fast and consistent. When the Sox are about to play potentially the last game to clinch the pennant you want the food on time. They say 30 min and you are still waiting almost an hour later — meanwhile the game has started — that’s just not cool. State the time accurately. And why would it take almost an hour? Did you lose our order. You disappoint me Hong Kong Dragon!

I love HKD, Honestly, I see no reason to go anywhere else for Chinese food. All of the things I typically order here are delicious and well priced. It’s close to home and the(older man) waiter that’s usually working… hilarious. Try the peking ravioli, pan fried of course. Also, the General gao and orange chicken are great. I have never personally imbibed at HKD but, I hear the drinks are fab too. If you’re around town and cravin’ Asian, this is your place.

My girl and I went to the HKD after eating our way through almost all of Winthrop’s restaurants. We heard that the place had been totally redecorated acquired a liquor license. We stopped by early on Sunday afternoon 3÷11÷12 and were almost the only people in the place the duration of our meal. The remodel was a complete success; the place used to be a hole in the wall with a couple of booths. Now it’s got multiple seating areas, quiet ambience, and art nouveau sinks in the immaculate restrooms. The place would have the total retreat vibe, if not for the flatscreen TVs scattered about. The food was great, and mostly bargain portions for the price. Ten huge crab rangoon(imitation crab) for about $ 6. Sharable portions of General Gau’s and spicy vegetable stir fry for about $ 11. Both entrees were a notch above most places. The GGC was sweet and spicy, with big pieces of chicken that hadn’t been overbreaded. The veggie stir fry had lots of different veggies in a thick, peppery savory sauce. The food was so good that when we got back into the car after another short stop, we realized the packaged leftovers STILL smelled amazing. The sole quirk that stole the last star? Pork fried rice was $ 7. I know it’s more expensive to prepare than plain white rice, but that felt like a gouge. I would have settled for a smaller portion for $ 4 – 5, but it was the only misstep in the whole experience. So this is a restaurant that used to be average bordering on crummy, that has really improved. It’s totally worth a try if you haven’t been there in ages.
