Great«home cooking» taste, the catfish is the best I’ve ever had in my life! It has a great batter not plain cornmeal. Everything I’ve tried here has been excellent! Def a must!

Very good Sunday brunch. I had sweet potato pancakes, eggs, and bacon, and everything was really good. Everyone in our small group enjoyed their meal. Busy on a Sunday morning, but not too busy to get a table. The service was decent even with a couple of huge parties near us.

Our lunch was good and it loved the tator tots with cheese and jalepenos. Our service was great! Tabitha took good care if us and made us feel right at home.

Friendly staff and atmosphere. Good down home cooking. One of my favorites is the Heart of Texas salad. I always ask for extra artichokes and they always deliver. If you are hungry for something more, the chicken fried steak is great. Breakfast is always a good choice and is served all day. Sve room for pie!

I have eaten here at least a dozen times and can’t call it better than«Fair». The servers are great but the food is mediocre. Breakfast is best and the burgers are fine but I have had some specials(open-face roast beef and fried chicken breast) that were pretty poor. This place is pretty busy but I’m not sure it would survive in Houston or DFW BTW — the pies look great. I guess I need to try them

Okay entrées most of the sides are canned though. The pie is pretty good, it will pass if you are craving pie. But it Definitely isn’t as good as the Koffee Kup in Hico, Tx. The last few times we went the service was sooo slow. And you Don’t Even Get ANY rolls if you do they are 50 cents a roll!!! They started out free when they first opened but then they started charging WithOut any warning the server didn’t even tell us!!!

Country food– fried things, green beans, mashed potatoes. But very well done! Excellent service, excellent homemade desserts.

Quite a nice home-style restaurant in a small town with very few places to eat. If you’re from Houston, then the food is kind of like Kelley’s Country Cookin’ except the food isn’t bland, except for the yellow squash — we barely salted anything, but did use Cajun hot sauce on my okra(had to ask for the hot sauce, as it’s not kept on tables). Service was excellent; décor reminded me of BBQ joints, except more«Texas-Themed». IMO, the portions were pretty big, especially if you want pie for dessert, which they had many kinds of, so I had to ask for a to-go box in order to have room for pie.

Very good basick southern food. I had a hamburger and rings and it had a great flavor and was made to order. They were fast and friendly and it was a very clean place. usually when a place is as crowded as they were, you end up losing something but they were staffed well and it showed. Dont forget to take a run at the sweets. I understand they do their own baking and the cookies tasted like it. The pies looked good also.

Went to this place with 6 people on a weekday late afternoon. The good. 1. Very home style feel to the interior 2. At least 12 different kind of pies to choose from, including very original selections. 3. 5 star catfish. Lightly breaded, very moist, cooked very nice. 4. Large selection on the menu, quesadilla’s were nice and flavorful with spiced sauce inside, cajun catfish, deep fried catfish salads, burgers, steaks, and a kids menu… breakfast all day. Bottomless drinks, and much much more. 5. All plates arrived at the same time and were cooked great. The not so good. 1. Can’t think of anything. Very good place in an area you weren’t expecting to find much. Pleasantly surprised. Would go back no problem.

One of my favorite restaurants anywhere! There’s something for everyone — chicken fried steak, burgers, steaks, salads, breakfast foods of all kinds(served all day!), and some of the best pie you’ll ever eat! A little out of the way unless you’re headed to Lake Whitney, but worth the drive from any of the surrounding areas!
