My husband and I were looking for a new place for breakfast and found the Dragonfly on Unilocal so we decided to try it out. When we got there I thought maybe we had made mistake, as the restaurant was not at all what we expected. We walked in and were the only ones there(10am on a Friday). The owner greeted us, and said«Here’s the menu» pointing to some signs above his head. I knew my husband was not excited. There were about 7 breakfast items listed. Not much choice but they covered all you really need for breakfast. So we stuck it out, ordered the loaded breakfast burrito(my husband) and huevos rancheros(me). It took a little bit of time to cook, but it was nice to know they were being cooked for our order, and not sitting under a warmer light. While we waited a few more people came in and all seemed to be semi regular customers, as they knew the owner. When our food came out, we started eating and we were pleasantly surprised! It was delicious! My husband said it was probably the best breakfast burrito he has ever had. My huevos were fantastic. The refried beans were delicious. I am not a fan of refried beans and I almost never eat them but the flavors were so good, I cleaned my plate. After finishing his burrito, my husband decided he wanted another. I tried a bit of his second and it was really good. So despite our first hesitation, we were so pleasantly surprised, we’ll definitely be back to try out some other items. It is worth the drive.

I was a total fan of this place… but they’ve either closed or moved. I am SOBUMMED. Their $ 2 breakfast burritos were the shizz. I hope my son’s kindergarten teacher got to use the gift certificate we got her for Xmas before they shut down.

Random and quirky? Try never open nor answer the phone. Already have wasted the gas TWICE to try this place and found the hours of operation posted outside not exactly when they’re open. Lost me before you had me. BOO

Love this place! Has quirky, mismatched furniture, and nothing fancy on the inside about it. Had the green chile grilled cheese and reuben and both were great! Live music on Saturdays and Sundays, and when we were there, the music was excellent, 3 guitarists. The owner introduced himself as well, and was very friendly. Can’t wait to go back!

I had Huevos Rancheros and the breakfast was awesome! A quaint little place and the chef is from Brooklyn but he knows how to cook and especially how to cook green chili!

This has become one of my «go to» places. In the summer, I like to go out to breakfast, take my computer and write/eat. The Dragonfly has fab wifi, good breakfast food for a good price, and it’s usually pretty quiet! So far, I’ve had the eggs combo and the french toast — both were fab(and not too much, which is a nice change). Tony, the owner, is great(we’re both from back east, and we always end up chatting). Food is from scratch, and pretty local. Only thing I’d like changed is a fountain soda machine, instead of cans(I don’t drink coffee, and can pound a few sodas to wake me up in the a.m.). Really need to try the bbq sometime…

I guess Tony is the new owner of the coffee shop/restaurant although the previous owners are still making their hot sauces and catering out of the back of the building. Tony is one cool and nice guy that used to kick the sh*t out of people full time as a pro UFC fighter but now is kicking out great food full time and still kicking the sh*t out of people only part-time. As mentioned the food prices are very reasonable as are the coffee and coffee drinks. I had the huevos rancheros and liked the green chile a lot. I think the potatoes could have used a bit more somethin’ somethin’ either some onion or garlic or tomato or all of the above. They were just a little bit too dry and underseasoned. The from a can tasting refried beans I could have done without though and would have preferred a homemade ranchero style or even well seasoned canned pintos. They weren’t bad, they just were no bueno. My friend’s Poor Man’s Reuben served on thick sliced marble rye was pretty tasty. What I really want to get back here for though is what was smelling soooo good behind the building in the smoker! Tony does a BBQ plate on Friday and Saturday(or was it Saturday and Sunday? I’m gonna call to make sure before I go down there.).

When you don’t know what you feel like eating, go here!!! A small, comfy, locally owned café with consistently great food, coffee, and value. I have been here 4 times and my fiancé 3 times. The food AND the value is ALWAYS impressive. Homemade food, NOTCORPORATE! The coffee is great. The breakfast specials are great(bagel, egg, cheese, bacon sandwich and a drink for $ 4 or $ 5 some days!). Breakfast all day, and not just breakfast sandwiches either! One of the best Reuben Sandwiches ANYWHERE. Great BBQ. All the sandwiches are available as salads too(ask: not on menu). The chicken sandwich as a salad is excellent. This is a place where you can tell them what you are in the mood for, and they will come up with something for you, if it’s not on the menu. Comfortable to sit and drink coffee or eat. I see people on their computers here so I think free wifi, but not sure. They treat you like a friend when you are here. It is is like going into your friend’s café. It is very homey feeling. The owner/operator is a super nice guy too. Ask them for their recommendations when you walk in and let them know if it is your first time there.

The Dragonfly Café is a random little coffee, breakfast and lunch joint on 38th Avenue with a big patio, two friendly guys usually behind the counter, and some damn tasty sandwiches. I recommend the Poor Man’s Reuben: Corn beef, Pastrami, swiss cheese and awesome kraut with 1,000 island dressing on rye. I’m not sure what’s poor about it, other than the fact that the bread is not marble. Or go with the chicken salad sandwich with grapes and almonds — toasted, of course. Plus on the Friday and Saturday, there is pulled BBQ pork! Did I mention there’s a patio? Because there is. You can find me there.

Having been to The Dragonfly several times, I really do want to love them — especially considering their proximity to my house, the reasonably priced, reasonably good food, and the fact that they’re swell guys. However, though they do pride themselves in making their food from scratch, does it really need to take a half hour to make a bagel sandwich with eggs and bacon? I once waited 25 minutes on a not-very-busy day for a COLD sandwich with veggies on it which, though tasty, just wasn’t quite worth the wait. There are usually 2 or 3 dudes behind the counter, sweatily and frantically running around and looking like they’re in a hurry, but I have never gotten a meal here in less than 15 minutes. The brewed coffee is also weak, and the lattes are way too sweet. The hot sauces are their specialty, but are all way too smoky for my taste. I was wavering between 2 and 3 stars, and I really do hate to give a negative review because the place is cute and the guys who run it are super nice, but I really think that if they can figure out a better system behind the counter, step up their timing and consider working on a few details, The Dragonfly has potential to be a great breakfast and lunch spot in the ‘hood.

For what you can expect, it’s good. Expect very leisurely, laid back staff who act in no real hurry. This place is packed with people in the mornings looking for social activity– think 60+ age range. I tried both the huevos rancheros and breakfast burrito, which were a good deal at $ 5 each. The coffee is pretty good, but that’s the only drink I’ve tried so I can’t comment on any of the other drinks. I did see plenty of people drinking bloody mary’s with their breakfast! Overall, this place is very«Wheat Ridge.» A hangout spot for older people with a fairly limited menu, but a great place to catch up on all the neighborhood gossip! PS– the Posey Girl is just a few doors down and I highly suggest going there to see all the fun things they have!

These guys are awesome! They just recently catered my wedding on June 4th and were no less than superb. Their timeliness and professionalism cannot be beat, along with their amazingly reasonable prices. They are incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to their field and very able to work with you. For my wedding they passed hor dourves the entire night and even had to make more then they expected because people liked them so much. They have been a pleasure to work with and I would recommend them highly to any inquiring minds. On an average day they are awesome as well! I love their food and their sliders are to die for. Anther awesome quirk about them is that they make their own hot sauces out of the back of the store. They are delicious. I would recommend stopping in for that reason if for nothing else… Try the Dragon Fire sauce… :) Dragonfly Deli: 303−596−5678 720−385−9844

I am surprised to be the first person to review this rad Local’ lovin’ Deli/Café. Located on the edge if «The Highlands nieghborhood,» Wheat Ridge has few places to gather and share our local flare. The Dragonfly however is the perfect community oriented breakfast and lunch spot. I am guilty of just stopping for coffee on walks with my dog. So, I cannot vouch for their food, although theres always plenty of people there who probably could. My five star review is for what i think maybe the owners first passion… their selection of made with love hot sauces! So many different flavor combination and amazing ingredients I can not begin to list hem all. Above all, I have never had a better Bloody Mary mix ANYwhere in ALL my Life. Its has great flavor and the right amount of spice. I used to believe that what makes a great Bloody Mary is the amount of garnish added, but with this mix nothing is necessary… a celery stalk would be over kill. They also support all kinds of other local business and carry«Colorado made» products. So please support these guys and check em out!(Just dont sell out their bloody mary mix!!!)
