This place has really gone downhill. I used to LOVE the Italian sandwich. I would bring my wife and son here at least once a month to get that sandwich. Today however, it was not even close to what I would call an exceptional(or acceptable) sandwich. The lettuce was wilted shredded so thin that you could see through it. There was only one piece of meat on the whole sandwich, but there were 4 pieces of cheese. I’m not sure if it was the lettuce, dressing, old tomato, or oily peppers, but something just tasted off. I’ll definitely not be coming back any time soon. Get your shit together, S&G! I miss how great you were when you first opened!

This is a review from my visit on Saturday. I went in mid afternoon after a long(long) run and was in the mood for a sandwich. I ordered the yard bird, which sounded great on paper, and the quinoa salad side to take out. As I waited I noticed the cute feel of the small restaurant, the fun looking jar cocktails in the fridge. But before you know it I waited 25 minutes for my sandwich! There was nothing that needed to be toasted, grilled or even warmed up on my sandwich. Granted, I walked in behind two other guys who ate in, but there didn’t seem to be just one person in the kitchen making sandwiches. I took the sandwich home thinking it would be good, but was really nothing special. I thought it was on the dry side with just the pesto as the spread. Everything else was pretty bland too. The quinoa salad was better but portioned pretty small and barely had any quinoa. It was only my second time in since the opening and I had forgotten why I didn’t come more often. The normal sandwiches are not worth the gourmet prices and certainly not the wait. Some people ordered ahead and maybe that’s the trick, but if I’m planning that far ahead, I’d probably go to masterpiece deli, or better yet, make my own dang sandwich.

The food is fresh made everyday. I had The Frankie and is one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had.

Cute place, super super slow though so not a good place for lunch if you need to go back to work. You’ll have no time to eat. I had to get a refund today and about a month ago because I waited so long, my lunch break was over. I would not go here at all but it is the only sandwich place on 32nd. :(Someone open another sandwich place on 32nd please!

If I could give 3.5 stars here, I probably would. The sandwiches are good, but unremarkable, especially for the price. The service is what made me give 4 instead of 3, every time I have been in the service has been prompt and friendly. Overall, a good spot to grab a sandwich now and again.

Finally got around to trying Salt & Grinder with lunch take out last week. Ordering over the phone was quick and painless and the gal who took my order was very friendly. It was ready in fifteen minutes and service was just as friendly in person as on the phone. I ordered the beet salad, which was a good size and I loved the addition of the spicy Marcona almonds. I hope to try this place again and get a sandwich next time!

My experience here was fantastic. There service was quick and for takeout they neatly packed my meal and offered me a water in a to-go cup. The average cost of a sandwich is $ 9.50 and that includes a gourmet side and a pickle. I got the Frankie and 20 min later the sandwich still outstanding. Salt & grinder is using premium cuts of meat and cheese and the price point is easily justified. I will absolutely return.

Bonanno did it again. The famous Denver restaurateur brought some of his magic out of downtown and placed it in a casual and cozy spot in the highlands. The sandwiches are nothing short of amazing. The Italian and the Frankie are my personal favorites but the breakfast is not to be missed. This beautifully and interestingly decorated joint took the attention to ingredients from Luca, the creativity from Bones, and applied it to the humble sandwich. Just order what looks good and trust that everything from the breads to the spreads have been meticulously curated. S&G is yet another example of how this is not the 32nd street that Denverites grew up with, it is now a vibrant neighborhood that rivals Boulder’s Pearl Street but with a more local, diverse and uncommercialized feel to it.

Eating s sandwich here makes me pissed off that other sandwich places are so lazy. Great ingredients on great bread, well proportioned for an honest price.

I had lunch here and found it to be quite delicious and fast. I expected it to be waiter service when I walked in, but was a bit surprised when the girl at the counter took my order. I had the chicken parm sandwich and pasta salad. The pasta salad was some of the better sides I have had in a while. It was well flavored and wasn’t too creamy, but had a nice texture as well. The sandwich was good, I am sure it is better with the pesto, but I did it without, which made it missing something. I thought it needed a little more flavor, but I chalk that up to the pesto. Overall the sandwich portion was pretty large. In fact, I almost would have preffered a larger side and a smaller sandwich.

Ok, this place is epic. The house sandwich with prosciutto(I believe it is called the Frankie), was big and delicious. I should have only had half, then took the rest togo, but come on. The contrast of fresh prosciutto, burrata cheese, greens, on a fresh baggett. I mean, this thing was delicious. And the décor…1920’s Lawyer meets lazy parisian! Dark history-telling wood and small café tables. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Salt & Grinder is sooo yummy, my favorite sandwich is the Tuscan(one of their vegetarian options) & I am not a vegetarian but it’s so yummy. I always wish their brunch hours were later during the weekend, it ends @ 11. The iced tea is brewed which is a plus & their cold brew is delish!

I’ve been here now twice in a week, which it’s rare for me to go to a single establishment this many times; unless it’s very close to where I live. Their sandwich combinations are on point! The ingredients are fresh and pair very well together. The bread they use for their sandwiches is baked perfectly. I would suggest asking them to toast it. I have to get going but their sandwiches are amazing! The service is awesome as well!

I am a huge fan of this place. It is a simple place to enjoy a sandwich and a beer on their nice patio right in Highland Square. Everyone that works there is really nice. I like the smokey green sub, the yard bird, the chicken parm, and now the philly. The quinoa salads are awesome, as are all is the other salads! I definitely recommend.

I’ve only tried them via delivery from Postmates, but I was a massive fan of their 32nd Street Reuben. Amazing flavors, heaping portions, and incredibly satisfying. The price point seemed rather high($ 14?!) but it was a tremendous sandwich and I can’t wait to visit their actual location.

For what it is, five stars. It’s an upscale/gourmet deli. The quality of the ingredients, the thoughtful combinations, and the attention to detail set this place apart from other such places. I had The Tuscan with fresh mozzarella, pesto and roasted red peppers. One of my friends had the smoked turkey and the other had the Italian cold cuts(not your ordinary cold cuts) sandwich and carrot ginger soup. All three of us raved about what we had!!! The service was a cut above as well. Excellent job Salt & Grinder!

I had the chicken salad sandwich, cucumber salad, and iced tea. $ 11.34. I really enjoyed the sandwich, chewy bread, fresh cold chicken salad, it satisfied. The cucumber salad was freshly pickled. The cucumbers were still crunchy with a spicy bite. The restaurant was small but cozy and had character. There was also an outside patio fir nice days like today, a big bonus. Friendly waitstaff. Food came quickly which is great for a quick, delicious lunch. Will return when in area.

I had built so much anticipation for this place. And I was incredibly happy to learn it met my usually very, very high expectations. The staff was so friendly and more than accommodating our to-go order. It’s not your average fast-casual sandwich shop. It not only has more charisma, but puts more tender, love, and care in each sandwich. We waited more than your typical five minutes for our delicious sandwich, but realized during the wait that Salt & Grinder is definitely more suitable for a leisurely lunch when you’re not in a hurry. With a plethora of flavors all on Grinder Rolls — there’s such a fun variety from which to choose. Like, the 32nd St. Reuben(to die for!) and the Smoky Green(Fresh and delicious); however, the one sandwich combo that really got my gears going was The Frankie(Prosciutto, Coppa, Ham, Fresh Burrata, Arugula, and Red Wine Vinaigrette). Plus — you can make any sandwich a mini for the little guys!
