Unleashed by Petco

I took my dog there today for the self-​serve dog wash. The staff was friendly and the tub area was clean BUT. .. the provided shampoo and towels were horrible. The shampoo was basically scented water that was not the consistency of any dog shampoo I’ve ever used and didn’t even lather. When I asked a staff member about it, she agreed and said it must have been diluted too much. Why is it being diluted at all??? She added some regular shampoo to the water shampoo but it still wasn’t right. If you say that shampoo is included in the price, it should include regular, full-​strength shampoo, not some watered down junk. Also, the 3 towels that were provided were thread-​bare and not much larger than a hand towel size — not sufficient for my 70-​lb dog. The woman washing her dog at the next tub said the shampoo is always watered down but it seemed particularly bad today.

After going online and speaking with a groomer on the phone, I was told a base price of $ 41 for a bath and grooming, I made an appointment. When I checked in, I was informed the base price would be $ 77. The reason I was given for the price difference was «our computer systems don’t match.» On the flip side, they did give a $ 5 off coupon and trimmed his nails. The cut was cute, they did leave his tail scrappy looking.

This review is mainly for the grooming department. I used to get my yorkie groomed here by Tami but ever since she left Lucy’s cut has never been up to par yet I keep going back. The cut is always a little off and hair is longer or uncut on parts of her body/​face. They don’t go back to check their work. I went to the one in Arvada on 80^th and Wadsworth and I think they charged $ 5 more but the cut was perfect! I pay $ 40 to get the bath, cut, ears cleaned, nails clipped and anal glands expressed. Employees are friendly and they have tons of cute dog clothes and supply and food for your dog.
If you find a good groomer for your dog just stick with that person. I will not go to Westminster location anymore. They also stopped selling Organix dog food. It was mainly the reason why I came there, for a one stop shop.

Love this place. I brought my newly adopted pooch here and she had a ball. Except for when she jumped out of the 3ft tall tub. That was crazy. The staff was helpful. Food representatives were in there giving away samples which Mia loved. The cashier gave me some balm for my her dry nose. Good experience. I wish it were closer to my home.

I took my dog here and the staff was friendly. They estimate acted 3 hours but we’re finished very fast and called about forty five minutes later. They did a good job and even put little bows in her hair to match her collar. It was so cute! I wish the shampoo smelled a little stronger … She smelled like a dog again about an hour later lol… But other than that it was a great experience. I will be back.

We go to unleashed for the self service dog wash, puppy classes, holiday activities for dogs, groomers. My dog gets excited in the parking lot. She really enjoys the friendly staff and treats.
I wish there were more options for dog food (Fromms) or dog treats with buffalo in it (Boulder Dog company) if so this would be my sole place to go!

So I went a couple weeks ago and I felt like the hair cut was amazing. About 7 hours after and even calling back and praising the groomer on how well she did. I noticed a large cut in my dogs arm pit. I understand cuts happen but there is no way that happened and it wasn’t bleeding and cleaned up. Nobody told me which I feel very upset about. It happens but give me a heads up. We went on a 2 mile walk after she got back from the groomers, I could only imagine the pain my puppy was going through. I did ask for a short cut on her body so I will probably never do that again.
This situation was really unfortunate because she did do a really good job a simple customer service change and acknowledgement of what was most likely an accident would have brought me back time and time again.

This place is great!!! Staff is so welcoming, friendly, and helpful especially Ted who knows my dog by name. I can always rely on them for proper nail trims, a great selection, and fun for my pup! My dog LOVES this place and so do I!

I come here for my dog food and treats. I am always impressed by the staff here they are friendly and helpful and they are always trying to find whats best for dog but getting the most bang for your buck if your on a budget. I am thankful I am able to get great american made treats and they have various size brands and size bags and I am happy they support the american economy by buy buying and supporting america too. Most of the products are made in usa from what I have noticed and quite a few are made right here in Colorado. I really think thats great. Too many pet food stores buy overseas and don’t want quality, with a good price and supporting our own economy by also buying local.

I just wanted to find a self-​service pet wash, and that is so hard to do in the suburbs! I had a runty little chihuahua that I really can’t justify sending to the groomers, but he also sheds like it’s his job, so I don’t want to wash him at home. After numerous phone calls, I finally found this place. The pet wash area is well stocked (albeit with some very watery shampoo), the groomer who was supervising the area was very nice and helpful, and best of all, I got to leave loads and loads of Rudy hair for someone else to clean. Yay! The shop accompanying the pet wash is cool, lots of cute boutique-​like toys and treats. I think this will be a regular stop for me and my boy!

I just love this place. My dog loves it too. It is not like other pet store. I bought my dog her pet food and a month later I needed more and they remembered what I bought for her the previous month. They make over my little one every time we go in. She is a little rescue dog and was not treated well previously. Sometimes I think she would go home with them rather than me.

Yes, I am an animal lover and I spoil my pets but I live on a budget and convenience is also important to me. And even though I adore my dogs, I never would have thought I would have a favorite pet store. Yet I do. I totally have a favorite pet store and this is it. I am a huge fan of the Unleashed by Petco store, located just off 104^th Ave. and Federal Blvd. in Westminster. Here are the two main reasons why I love this place:
1. The staff is the most friendly, helpful, genuine group of folks you’d ever want to find. Whoever does the hiring for this location should give themselves a big pat on the back because the staff here has always gone above and beyond for me. Each time I go in, they ask whether I want any recommendations or need any help. But they aren’t asking in a monotone /​forced way and it’s also not overbearing or annoying. They seem to really want to help and when I don’t need any assistance and say so, that’s ok with them too. That level of genuine customer service is just not present at other stores I walk into. Add to the fact that each and every time I’ve gone to this store, the staff has provided me with coupons and free samples, and I’m sold.
2. The price is right. At Unleashed by Petco you get the fun ambiance of a boutique pet shop but the discount prices of Petco. Each time I’ve gone in, they have had great sale prices and discounted items too. So if you want to try something new for your pet, this is the place to look for great prices.
So in closing: Unleashed by Petco at the Northpark Plaza in Westminster is a gem. Friendly staff, great prices, and convenient location just off 104^th & Federal Boulevard.

These guys are awesome. The Staff is friendly and very helpful. I love their dog bath area. My dog doesn’t but I do. Great prices as well.
