If you love a great steak, great sides, even great fish, and superb service, then you are going to love this place! Had one of the best meals ever in a casual, old-time bar atmosphere, complete with upholstered booths medium low lighting and the soft chatter of happy diners nearby. Steak was exceptionally tasty and cooked to order to perfection. The waiter David was polished and efficient without being intrusive. But I’m sure he was the rule not the exception. For a memorable meal in a very homey setting, with easy parking and access to after dinner entertainment nearby, this is the place to go. You can even bring your own wine or choose from their extensive and incredibly well priced list. Don’t forget dessert, but even way before that, try one of their spectacular specialty drinks! A real diamond in the rough! Don’t pass it up if you have the chance to go there!

BESTSTEAK I HAVEEVERHAD! The New York Strip with au poivre sauce was amazing! The Brussel sprouts in the balsamic reduction w/candied bacon and goat cheese is an insane side! We went here for Valentines Day, the service was fantastic(Bill our server was the best!) and the atmosphere was great! Highly recommend The Okeechobee Steak House for any special occasion or holiday

We had a fantastic dinner last night! The food was delicious and the service was great. I had leftovers and forgot them at the table. We were in the car leaving when the valet Oscar tapped on our window. Oscar ran to catch us to give me my leftovers that I forgot to take when we left. What a great guy! We highly recommend Okeechobee steakhouse!

Ordered the mushrooms I did not like them also had the calamari which was good. They give you bread with cold butter. Service was slow and we are the only one’s here. They have a photographer in here taking pictures the light was in our face so we had to move. The steak was over done. Outback has better lobster. Waitress forgot to bring us our potato and vegetables. Don’t think I would come back not for the money.

I’ve always wanted to try OSH and in Christmas Eve I got the chance. I was not disappointed. I started with the French Onion Soup and it was so good. My husband and I shared the onion rings. He is very hard to please when it comes to onion rings and he definitely enjoyed them Absolutely the best steak I’ve had since moving to Florida 14 years ago. I had the filet minion cooked medium rare and it was perfect inside and out. I don’t think I’ve had a better steak and I’ve had steak in Dallas and Chicago. My husband’s queen cut Prime Rib was huge and the small bit I had was excellent. The baked potato I had on the side was well cooked and very flavorful. Another tasty addition to the meal. The service was excellent. Our drinks were always full and they boxed up our leftovers quickly. We had an excellent experience and will absolutely be back.

Visiting from Chicago, found this place and so glad I did. Superb! Outstanding meal. I had an excellent cut of the prime rib, it melted in my mouth. Ordered the side of mushrooms & creamy horseradish sauce. I cannot wait to my next visit to West Palm Beach, my first stop will be here.

Went here for about the 20th time again last night. Just a classy place all around. It really steps you back in time with the décor, more like old school, than out dated tho so keep that in mind. The food is always outstanding. My wife had the Delmonico and my buddy and I both had the NY Strip. You gotta order it Pittsburgh style so you get that amazing char on the outside. I prefer my strip mid rare, and it was cooked perfect. If you’re going for the Filet then I would opt for rare. Drinks are always good too. Had a couple martinis and wife had wine. They don’t have any beer on tap… bottles only. Anyway go check out this classic next time you got the hankering for meat. Enjoy!

Absolutely delicious! Fun wait staff, all male and cute ones too! Food was top rate! Steak cooked perfectly! Love how they bring out a tray with the beautiful steaks and explain the cuts of meat. It was my birthday so the waiters sang happy birthday! Six handsome guys! Lol. Enjoy!

This place brings a crowd and parking can be just a bit tight at times. The servers are really good, but the décor is well, not a romantic atmosphere, but a straight up steak joint I guess. The steaks are very good, but I can’t say great. Combined with the décor, I just can’t give it more than 3 stars. Frankly, I don’t think of going often. Nothing wrong with the place really, but there are a lot nicer places to visit in my opinion.

Sixty Eight years in business, the Lewis family must be doing something right. To be able to stay open for almost seven decades in South Florida says volumes about this family run restaurant. It’s an oldie but definitely a goodie. I used to come here on occasion back in the early 90’s, in fact it was one of my favorites at that time. Life happens, people move, new restaurants open and I am embarrassed to admit that it took me twenty years to find my way back. Trendy & hip? No, not really. Solid food and excellent service? That would be a yes. The interior is dimly lit and like any other old school steak house. Sometimes, you just don’t need a trendy hot new restaurant to get a great dining experience. Glitz and modernization is great, but so is comfortable and delicious. Lets talk about the prices for a second. At first glance, they do appear to be high. But once you take into consideration you are paying for an entire meal, the prices, I feel are fully justified. At most high end steak houses the menu is a la carte, but here, your salad and side dish are included. So in my opinion, the price points are fine. I love an ice cold crisp fresh salad. Even better when the dressings are homemade. The Thousand Island dressing could have been a bit thicker, but it was great. My dining companions thought the Blue Cheese was pretty good. The single loaf of bread and butter looked okay, but I wasn’t impressed enough to blow any calories on it. We shared an appetizer of homemade tater tots served with an onion dip dipping sauce($ 5.99). These were worth every calorie and were excellent. I don’t eat a lot of fried food but I would order these again. The dip alone was excellent, but dunking the tater tots into it was just something very special. We ordered the sautéed button mushrooms($ 5.99) with our steaks. They were average at best. No flavor and just very generic mushrooms. Next time I will try the sautéed onions. I ordered the 14 oz. Delmonico($ 41.99). I loved my steak and it was cooked perfectly. My dining companions had the 14 oz. NY Strip($ 45.99) and the 9 oz. Filet($ 46.99). One of the steaks had to be sent back because it was not cooked correctly. The second time around it was perfect. If you like steak sauce try the house sauce. It’s very good and has a little kick to it. We shared a huge slice of cheesecake for dessert. I am not sure if was homemade but it was outstanding. I only had two bites but I would have had more if I wasn’t so full. It was really good. If you dine in on the day of your birthday, the OSH offers a $ 26.99 birthday discount. I was shocked when they offered my friend the birthday discount even though the day we were there was not his actual birthday. We didn’t ask for this, but it was a very generous and unexpected surprise. Our server just asked to see my friends license to verify his birthday was within a few days. I cant guarantee they do this all the time, but like I said, it was an unexpected surprise. I really enjoyed my dinner here. I can tell you it wont take me twenty years to return this time. With the holidays upon us, this is the perfect restaurant to meet up with friends for a holiday celebration. Or just a quiet dinner for two…

One of the better steak houses aound. Although lately quality has not been the same. Still decent. Our server was great! Friendly, mildly funny. Timing for arrival of food was pretty quick. The giant ball of pillowy wheat bread with soft whipped butter arrives warm center, thin crisp crust. To start, ordered Pinot Grigio. Nothing special but good. My meal was New York Strip and Crispy Shrimp with a side of Green Beans. The strip is not my favorite cut but the temperature was right. The shrimp were beyond large, weakly breaded crumbled off. Green beans were bright and crunchy. The experience was quite lovely.

This Saturday, my father, S. O and I were treated to a great dinner by my girl. Our waiter David took our drink order and shared the 40 year history of the restaurant. After our drinks were served, David brought out a tray of all the cuts off meat and thoroughly reviewed them with us. Britt chose the 14 oz Delmonico, my Dad choose the 14 oz NY Strip, and I had the 9 oz filet au poivre. We began with a tater tot appetizer which was followed by a salad that came with the meal as did the sides. The meal was SUPERB… to quote my dad, u may get a steak this good but not better. we shared a cheese cake(unsuccessfully) and then headed home for a chat and then bedtime. Happy 50th To Me

Went for my boyfriend’s 35th birthday on 10÷08÷15. Food was AMAZING and the portions were huge! We had it for lunch and dinner again the next day. Cant remember our servers name(I think it was Ron?) but he did an excellent job giving us attentive service and explaining the steaks to us in great detail. I had the steak filet and it melted in my mouth like butter. Yummmm!

Amazing. Nothing short of amazing. The NY Strip and the key lime pie really hit the spot. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is nice and old school. If you’re in the area and want the best steak around, this is the place for you.

This is a steak place. Get steak. This review reflects only their steak. It is outstanding. Deliciously seasoned, tender, flavorful. The escargot I was not impressed by. Tasted a little too much like they added minced garlic from a jar(that marinade-y taste and smell). Would not recommend. The Chilean sea bass itself was really good, but the arugula salad around was way too sour, making it the only thing I could taste, avoid the salad. Seared tuna was overcooked, chewy, and just as bland as could be. The house salad was really good, with fresh greens, and tasty cheese mixture on top. Balsamic vinaigrette is delicious.

I’ve been coming here for years and this place just does not change and that is for the best. They have stellar service, excellent steaks and killer cocktails. Just thinking about this place makes me want to go now! You get the feeling of the old-fashioned steak pub that you went to with your parents when you were younger. Everything is good and the escargot… wonderful! Oh and they give you a steak dinner on your birthday, how cool is that?!

Okeechobee Steak House was awesome long before many of the high-end steakhouse chains like Ruth’s Chris, The Palm, and Morton’s ever built their first restaurant. Jim and Norma Lewis opened Okeechobee Steak House in 1947 right on the corner of Okeechobee Boulevard and Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard in West Palm Beach, FL, and that’s where you’ll find OSH today, still run by the Lewis family. The décor might seem a bit dated, and the restaurant is dark inside, but the place is very clean, and somehow it all works when you see the quality of the steak that they put in front of you. OSH has developed their own exclusive in-house aging process for beef, which creates a succulent flavor that will leave your taste buds begging for one more bite. If you’re like me, you hate lots of fat on your steak. Our waiter told us that all steaks are closely hand trimmed the old fashioned way. My business associate and I had eaten there years ago in my pre-Yelp days, but we were glad to go back and enjoy another excellent steak dinner. Our waiter was fantastic, and very well-trained. He started by welcoming us back and taking our drink order, and was back in moments with our drinks and a loaf of fresh-from-the-oven bread and sweet creamery butter. He told us the story of the restaurant, and how each cut of beef was aged and hand-trimmed. While we sipped our drinks, he was back with a silver platter to show us each cut of meat, and to tell us the features and benefits of each steak.(I felt like I was back at Bern’s, and I enjoyed every moment!) He recommended a brand new appetizer called Lobster Corn Dogs for Larry and I to share. This turned out to be a huge New Zealand lobster tail, split in half, skewered, and then dipped in corndog batter and fried. Each of the lobster corn dogs was about 6 bites of sweet lobster meat and crunchy batter. Really tasty, and something very different. I was still full from our lunch, and so I passed on the opportunity to gnaw on the Fred Flintstone-sized bone-in Ribeye steak, and instead ordered the 9-ounce filet. For my sides I had creamed spinach and sautéed Spanish onions. The steak was out-of-this-world delicious, cooked perfectly, and a real treasure to enjoy. OSH has sirloins, strips, Delmonico’s, and Porterhouse, along with the filet and that big ol’ honkin’ bone-in Ribeye that hung over both sides of the plate when he brought it out to show us. Our waiter came back several times to be sure that the steaks were cooked as expected, and to see if we needed any more sauces or sides. If you’re not a steak lover the menu also has pork chops, shrimp scampi, fried shrimp, tuna, lobster tails, and grilled chicken breast. If you love prime rib, they have two different-sized cuts that looked amazing. This is not a cheap meal, but well worth it considering the quality of the food, and the historical charm of the restaurant. Tell your waiter that you’re unsure about what to order, and then sit back and enjoy as they tell you the story of Okeechobee Steak House, and show off all of the different steaks on a silver platter. An excellent meal!
