Benito’s Restaurant

This place has some pretty legit pizza. The prices are cheap, the delivery is fast and the people who work the phones are friendly.
My only criticism is the entire staff has some sort of mental block when it comes to putting peppers on a pizza as a topping. Every time I order a pie with red peppers the staff has no idea what I am talking about and I have to thoroughly explain that I want it as a topping cooked into the pizza and not on the side. I don’t understand what the deal is but I have the problem with literally every person I speak with there.
Either way the pizza is good and so are the other Italian dishes. It’s the best I’ve had in the area. The only thing I’ve had that’s been bad are the wings, they are a joke… don’t eat them.

The service is definitely lacking. They have a wall of wine but have no idea how it tastes or what to recommend with any given dish. The food itself was okay. I’ve had both better and worse Italian. All in all my fiancée and I would rather cook our own Italian and drink our own pick of wine. Dinner and a movie with Netflix! :P

so this is an UPDATED review for the NEW management/​owner.
i always avoided going to this place after witnessing the rude, disgusting behavior of the jerks that worked there (read previous review), but i gave it a second try after finding out that the place changed owners. even all the employees were new.
i have to say the guy who makes the pizza, i forget his name but he has a moustache, is soooo nice. he really treats customers right.
When i asked for cheese and pepper flakes to go, the younger guy whos at the register , tried to charge me a 1.50 $ each for the little plastic containers.
guess i looked a little suprised or a little taken back (becus every pizza place give those out for free)
the nice pizza guy who makes the pizza abruptly interrupted saying «no no nooo, i dont ever wanna see customers with that face. no no no… «and put the little, to go cheese and flakes in my bag.
i thought that was really nice. if i werent moving in a month, id def become a regular.
the pizza was very good. my mother also had a slice and she loved it.
the service here is just so horrifying.
lady behind counter is so rude and even talks crap about other customers waiting on their order, to the other employees… and shes not discreet about it either. she bad mouths customers w volume, can hear her.
heard her getting phone orders and right when she hung up she says «people are so stupid. they cant get orders in right! blah blah»
i was shocked at her lack of class. seriously, if you hate life and your miserable dont take it out on ur customers, everyone has their bad days… so if u want to rant dont announce it to the whole store.
.I can’t believe someone this rude and disrespectful to her customers would even think of running a business. dont care if they have the best pizza, which they dont. it was mediocre at its best… but ill never go here again!

My boyfriend and I came here the other night to pick up dessert.
We wound up picking up two because they all looked so delicious!
We wound up getting the Oreo monster cake which is chocolate moose cake and chocolate cake. Within the chocolate moose are pieces of Oreos. And on the top is a mini Oreo (very cute touch). The entire piece cake is soft an delicious.
The next one we got was the Brownie Cheesecake and let me just say OMG so good! On the bottom of the cake was a layer of brownie and the entire top of it was alllllll cheesecake. They topped with a mini brownie and almonds. This one was the winner but trying them both sure was a great little treat.
The restaurant was separated into two parts. One looked like a lovely little restaurant with dim lighting and the other side was for pick up orders and a place to eat casually, in this part of the pizzeria they also had a huge flat screen tv. I also noticed they had a full service bar as well. I can see myself coming for dinner here in the future, I hope the food is as great as their desserts even though the ratings say different. I’m still willing to give it a try!

Went here today during lunch with colleagues.
Interior is dark and hard to tell if there open or not. Doesn’t really have the atmosphere of a Italian restaurant.
We ordered the vongole lunch with salad and garlic knots. Salad was a good portion with a-​ok dressing. Not the usual Italian dressing you would think of but a redish and a touch of spice. Pasta was ok. Not al-​dente as most people would prefer and a bit light on the sauce. Although it said it comes with garlic knots, they gave us some stale white bread. We had asked and they gave us some huge oily but good garlic knots.
Waitress tried hard in making our lunch pleasant, so 2stars for her. Will try back again to see if they will improve on the food and interior.

This place changed management and now its a MESS.
There’s 5 girls behind the register and just confusion every single time i go there!
I live in the complex so I get food here and there and it happens every single time.
whether they forgot my order, they overcharged me, forgot my garlic knots. it just goes on… I’m sure it’s not every single girl there but they really need to hire someone who can run that crap smoothly. I’m sick of being on hold and waiting because the girl didnt understand my order… i miss the girl that used to work there, she never messed up my orders and always got everything right…
food? i like some of their pizzas and special lunches they have! the food itself can be very good at times.

DO NOT EAT HERE! Benitos, and its offshoot Galaxy Pizza, had been a consistent part of our food ordering since moving to Blvd. East. After tonight, we will call them no longer. The manager, Ashley, was by far the rudest person in the restaurant business with whom I’ve interacted. She was not at all apologetic about the fact that her delivery was over an hour late and displayed the worst customer service. She was more than willing to lose us as customers, and so she did! It’s too bad because we were good customers.

We ordered food which was delivered after 1 hour. After calling them numerous times they kept repeating the same thing that the delivery guy is on the way. When we opened the delivery we saw that the lasagna has lot of white sauce like a pasta. Where in the world do we get lasagna in white sauce. On calling them the staff (Maira) was very unprofessional and was telling us that we dropped the lasagna. Well which restaurant in the world argues with their customer. To top it they missed Tiramisu which we ordered.
I will never recommend this place to anyone. They are run by youngsters who don’t know how to run or manage anything.

Under new management! Food is not the same, fries are just average. and the domestic beers they sell to go are WAY over priced!

Amazing food and great service. Terry the manager is always very personable and very knowledgable about the wine selection.

I’ve only eaten take out here. The greasy pizza is good for a hangover, and the grilled chicken parm is good. Only I place i could find a chicken parm that wasn’t fried so that’s a plus. Meatball parm somehow tasted metallic though.
The staff has been nothing but polite and friendly.

Extremely rude, manager! How is this women even still in this restaurant? We are a regular customer and a very good one too, and this lady had the nerve to announce all loud in her annoying voice that «I was the most indecisive person she has ever met in her 55 years of life!» just because I was having a romantic time with my boyfriend and wasn’t ready with my order when she came around! And she went on to dwell upon that and on and on… I was shocked to my disbelief and extremely sickened by this woman’s extremely offensive comments, which were totally uncalled for!
I had seen her be rude to many customers before too, and it always made me feel ill, but we always came back for the good food.
Their food is not bad, but, if they get rid of this rude woman, they will have much better business! The place is always empty, despite the good food, most def because if this very bad customer service!

I only come here to grab a slice when I’ve just gotten off the bus and I’m very hungry. If they weren’t so close to my house, I’d never come here again. I ate in the restaurant once and the food was terrible, and the pizza is mediocre at best.
I’m also amazed that it seems any time I’m in there eating a slice, there’s some sort of argument happening between the staff. This is the second time in a few months it’s happened. And then tonight an irate customer yelled at the women at the counter, because apparently he’d eaten in the restaurant and one of the waitresses called him «difficult.» It’s a bit shocking to me that the staff would argue/​disagree with each other in front of customers. I’m really surprised this place stays in business.

Good Italian food, fantastic grilled halloumi cheese salad.
I was visiting at a friend’s place at Galaxy and we wanted to grab a good dinner but not too far. She said this place has nice salad with grilled halloumi cheese which was really good, I was trying halloumi cheese for the first time but it tasted really good. The penne alla vodka pasta was pretty decent, although when you compare it with some good NYC restaurants it was sort of mediocre. Our serving waitress was super nice. Overall a decent experience, would come back for the halloumi.

If I was doing this review over five years ago it would have gotten a five. However, I have been rather disappointed in Benito’s for the past four years. The delivery service was okay, nothing special, once the guy was lost attempting to locate my address, pizza has really changed over the years. One time my son had an allergic reaction to some ingredients in their pizza that sent him to the emergency room, I called the place and asked if any ingredient changes were made to the pizza I ordered on friday evening and the manager said everything was exactly the same, which I did not believe. He then admitted switching cheeses as customers kept calling in complaints. This was the last straw. The restaurant is pricey and I have had lacking service there, because new waiters are always serving when I am in the restaurant. Patience can only go so far, and after nine years of being a regular at Benito’s I have had enough.

So going here is like buying a scratch off or a lottery ticket, you could luck out and win some money, meaning the food is yum the service is decent and you get your money’s worth (which I have had once), or you could strike out and get lousy food, served by a server who is either clueless or rude, I cant tell which… (that too happened once)… so the conclusion is would go here if i was feeling lucky or desperate… just they way I feel when i buy a lottery ticket ;)

It’s the only good Italian food in this area that delivers but for a eat in there are many other good places around the area to go to then here. I only recommend if you want to order in and you live near here.

I would have given them the extra star but I was a tad intoxicated when I dropped almost a bill at this place. The food was excellent and I will go back. Don’t let the fact that it’s in a strip mall fool you.

I have never eaten in the restaurant here, but they have a pizza counter inside the Galaxy. I used to live there so late nights home from work were sometimes rewarded with some of their delicious pizza. Totally greasy and terrible for you but oh, so good! They use some kind of different blend of cheeses that make the pizza taste different than most others I’ve tried. I especially love their white pizza!
Oh yea, and I have had some of their entrée’s take out style. Great Italian fare and the take out options are awesome!
