What to say about Campus Inn! I went to Purdue for five years and never once stepped foot inside this hotel. I’ve always been curious, as it’s so close to campus, but living in the area there was no need to ever get a room. Now that I’ve been graduated for several years, I went back recently with a friend for a birthday event and we confidently booked a room at Campus Inn. I was pleasantly surprised in an odd way! It looks a bit sketchy from the outside, but the rooms are pretty decent. It’s a cheap room, about $ 60 for a night, and you essentially get what you pay for. The rooms are small, but have everything you need. The bed seemed clean enough, the bathroom was definitely clean, and had a comfortable feel overall with no bad surprises lurking anywhere. Try not to think about it too hard, but if you imagine how many awful, drunken, sloppy things have happened in these hotel rooms, they’re pretty clean in context. If you’re trying to be romantic, maybe don’t book here, but if you’re trying to party and need a bed for the night, Campus Inn is the right choice.

For the price and the new upgrades, it was a great place to stay for our family. The Campus Inn has a great and very understanding staff.

I’m not going to say this is a great hotel but I did not have the same experience many(all?) of the other reviewers. Sure it would be easy to say«there are no roaches because the rats ate them» but this place is not THAT bad. Sure you can find a gold door knob on the inside of the bathroom and a silver one on the outside. There is a bit of peeling paint and the towels are thinner than the Boilermaker student section in the 4th quarter. I drew one of the short straws so I had to sleep in the bed. I slept like a baby and didn’t bring any bedbugs home. The outdoor carpeting stretches all the way into the room and you need to be ready to yank the hot(or cold) water knob at all times when taking a shower. You won’t impress any dates with this place but if you need a place to rest for the few hours between trying to milk the Purdue cow at the club and daylight you will be fine. I left a shampoo bottle. You’re welcome.

On a recent cross-country drive, I was looking for a pet-friendly and wallet-friendly place to stay around Purdue, preferably in walking distance to a bar or restaurant. Because Campus Inn most definitely fit those criteria, I decided to ignore the negative reviews that I found on this website and others. «These reviewers are too persnickety,» I thought, «I don’t need it to be the Four Seasons, I just need a place to stay.» Well, you know how at a place like the Four Seasons they put a lot of effort into«the little things» that make you feel special? The neatly folded end of the toilet paper roll, the hand-towel origami, the wooden hangers in the closet, etc? The things that(I always thought) really don’t matter? The Campus Inn gives you the exact opposite of this. Every«little thing» seems like a way to make you feel a lot less special, and everywhere you look around the room you’ll find a new not-so subtle way that the management is telling you to go f*** yourself. Half the lightbulbs in the room were burned out. The carpet was sticky. The wallpaper was peeling from the walls. The tv stations are nearly all static. The wifi network has blocked practically every website you can think of(«no IMDB?!»). There are bits of rotting food in the corners of the floor. There is no ice in the ice machine. The towels are comically small. The sheets are the worst that I have ever encountered, and that itch… why do I itch all over? Simply put, the Campus Inn is indeed pet friendly, cheap, and centrally located. However, it will test the limits of how much comfort and value you’re willing to sacrifice for a good price.
