I give it four stars for the food and service. Had brunch there and dinner. Both times the service and food were great! Loved the complementary cinnamon buns at brunch! Only problem why I wouldn’t give it five stars is that its pricey for a suburban joint. If I was in Boston, sure. But for the suburbs the price could be lower

What a fantastic treat for Valentine’s Day! We had a change of plans, and, fortunately, the Coach Grill had a table available. Every couple who walked in was greeted by a long-stem rose – and I do mean long. Like, 3 feet. We started off with oysters on the half shell and Prosecco… I had the grilled swordfish and lobster risotto; my hubby had the ribeye. Chocolate-covered strawberries – an appropriate special – for dessert, as well as a couple of fantastic cappuccinos. Service was spectacular, even with tight quarters, which limited their ability to move. This place is pricey, but it’s perfect for a special meal.

Both the food and the service were amazing! We had the brie appetizer, and I was a little unsure when it came out and was lightly fried, but the blueberries and red pepper jelly with it were just the right combo. My filet was perfectly cooked(MR), and the lobster and sauces that came with it made the flavor of the cut just pop. The corn pudding was stunning, and the butterscotch bread pudding was delectable! Chef Lally really made it a great experience!

Years have passed and we’ve been customers since, well, forever. Tonight was our 12th anniversary and wanted a meal that we THOUGHT would be consistent and would remind us of the great meal we shared on our wedding night. Ok, lofty goal I know I know. We at least wanted a good meal. I was home sick so my hubs ordered and picked up take out(20 minutes each way to get some) We’ve had countless meals & brunches there and have noticed a gradual slide but tonight dawn broke over marble head. Ew. Ew. Ew.(Can’t make it up folks.) Corn pudding — had a hair in it(not kidding) human hair not a corn hair like they(hoped) insisted it must’ve been… over the phone. Rib eye steak was ordered MR came very rare and very tough with tons of fat pockets. Prime? Not so much. It’s my favorite steak. I know a bad piece when I get one; and I’ve never had a bad $$$$ steak, until tonight. The zucchini fries were greasy and limp.(Reminded me of the manager, Michael) Hugo tried to save the day but wanted us to drive the offensive meal back to prove to them it was terrible. Uhmmm, Hugo… We are busy, anniversary… remember? Besides, even if the customer isn’t always right I’m pretty sure you don’t make them feel worse than having eaten a hair or live obese cow for dinner. Pretty sure that’s bad, Hugo. Well, there you go. Beware of the Bloody Mary folks. Liable to have you gagging for sure. Pretty sure my tummy will twist every time I drive by now! Rumor has it they’re closing their doors and after the way they treated us when we called to complain I say good riddance! Prime grille just up the street(much cheaper & far better) will be our go-to. No more«special Coach dinners» for us —

Coach Grill is consistently superb. The service is impeccable. My family(including our young children) and our adult guests have always been treated very well and made to feel welcome. We found this restaurant to be superior to Abe and Louie’s. Coach Grill is truly good and therefore there is a brief wait for seating. The hosts have always been most accommodating. We don’t have to go into town when we can get better service and dining experiences here at Coach Grill. We enjoy the old world service and the polite manners of the other patrons,

Afte bringing salmon when I ordered the scallops they apologized profusely and brought my grilled scallops. They had to be the chewiness scallops I have ever had. I will give them credit for taking my order off the bill because of the delay in getting the right meal to me. Wish I had ordered a chop salad! Putting aside waiting 25 minutes for a table with a reservation the food all came out cold. We sent it back and it was warm when it came back. The manager apologized and said that he would be back to discuss this but we never saw him again. There was an adjustment made on the bill but nowhere near what should have been done given that an anniversary dinner was a let down. To top it off I mentioned on the booking that it was an anniversary yet absolutely nothing was done. Fitting ending for an otherwise bad meal. They really need to get their act together as nowhere near the quality of Del Friscos or Capital Grill.

Coach Grill used to be a 5 star restaurant. I have been a customer for over 10 years and the place took a huge turn for the worse when the new ownership took over a few years back. For the amount of money I am paying I want the old Coach Grill back. First, ordered a martini and a Cosmo and neither came in their little carafe over ice like they usually do(most other tables had it that way). Next I had to ask for water(lame service). Caesar salad is better at Outback Steakhouse(lots of off color lettuce and almost no dressing to speak of) Luckily all the main courses were good… as they should be for those prices. Bottom line is if you are going to charge high steakhouse prices your service and food need to be on point from start to finish. The place was half empty on a Friday night. I hope they get their act together cause a downturn in the economy could send CG into a death spiral.

Attended a pharmaceutical meeting here last night and all of the food was absolutely wonderful. Appetizers consisted of scallops wrapped in bacon and tomato and proscuitto wrapped mozzarella skewers. Then I had their Coach salad followed by the main course… filet mignon with creamy herb mashed potatoes, asparagus, and cream spinach. For dessert I had scrumptious crème brûlée with just the right amount of carmelization on top. If there’s ever another meeting here, definitely count me in(talk was great too!).

Had a business Dinner here with a large group in a private room. Food was good, service was attentive. I’d definitely go back. Someone said it is owned by the same people as Abe & Louie’s? Seemed like it could be the case.

We have officially decided that we will never go back. We used to love this restaurant for their great steaks. However, on our last visit, the service was horrible, and the visit we just had confirmed that. Things have really gone downhill when it comes to service, which is too bad, as we like the location and ease of parking. On this visit, we went on a Monday night. We were one of the first parties there for dinner. It was very slow that night, as there were only about 5 – 6 parties(of about 4 – 5 people each) that followed while we were there. The hostess was kind of cold, no welcoming smile and it almost seemed that we were bothering her with our arrival(she had to put down her cell phone). Once at the table, the waitress greeted us and presented us with some bread(which made us really happy because, as we expressed to our waitress, our kids were very hungry). She took our drink order. It took about 15 minutes to get our drinks. We were surprised because the restaurant was practically empty. And, the restaurant had plenty of waitstaff. It took approximately 25 minutes after that to get our appetizers. As soon as they came to the table, we asked how much longer until our dinners would be ready as the kids were hungry. We were told very soon. After almost another 25 minutes *after* we finished our appetizers our meals arrived. We ate our meals and then waited another 20 minutes for our dessert to arrive. The coffee arrived lukewarm. This was a really painful experience with us constantly looking for our waitress to see if she had food for us. We saw other parties come and go, while we sat there. The food was great, but the service was terrible. Were were there well over 2 hours with 2 kids. This really spoiled our evening. It was a special occasion and my husband wanted a good steak. From now on, we will spend the extra time driving in to Boston so that we can be sure we have a pleasant experience. We used to love this place, but the last 2 times we have been there, it has been awful. We will definitely not go back. And, the prices are just what you would pay for a great steak restaurant in Boston, so this was really not worth it.

I eat here fairly often and really like their Sunday brunch. The food is always excellent and the service outstanding. They do a great peach Bellini and I love the steak Benedict for Sunday brunch, hubby usual does the French toast. Dinner is always great be it red meat, chicken or fish. They are quite accommodating when ask to change how something in the menu is served.

What happened to Coach Grill? Smaller portions and jacked up pricing. $ 47 for surf and turf??? The waitstaff although well trained are nowhere to be found. On a quiet Monday night I watched my waitress talking to the hostess for 15 minutes. I had to get the water pitcher myself from the station. New owners you are killing a local tradition and wait(tress) staff you are kling the experience. Sad

Came in town from Arizona. Had a reservation @ 7:30. We left at 8:15 because our service was terrible. We ordered drinks and asked for water right away. We got the hot bread right away but couldn’t eat it because we had no plates or utensils. Waited and waited for water and it never came. We finally left without ever seeing our waiter again. BIG disappointment! Won’t be going back.

I enjoy the Coach, it’s fun to sit in the lounge area, meet up with friends and share some sides. It’s delicious… I’ve also had dinner there and the Steaks were out of this world. YUM!!! The sides are enough for 4 people. Thanks!

What happened to the coach? So so sad!!! What happened to the crisp looking cooks in the back. It looks all dirty and cluttered back there. All your staff seem to be eating while cooking? Things seem to have changed, since the back bay people left… Please bring the coach back! The place needs some refreshing very badly. Apparently the new owners do not care about the details. I eat there once a week, and i would say that things need to change ASAP before we stop going there We know you can do it. In the past we just called Mr Sarkis… Ask the old timers they would tell you what’s going on? Best, Joe

What you have here is a captive audience. There is nothing vaguely like this for miles, Weston, Wayland, Wellesley, Dover, Sherborn are all nearby wealthy towns, there’s a demand for a «special occasion» restaurant, and this is where you take the grandparents, especially when they’re footing the bill. We came here for an anniversary dinner, the driving factor being the parking lot was probably a better bet than trying to park somewhere in Boston, which was currently buried under 15 foot snowbanks. They do the typical annoying suburban thing of having 16 year olds with no social skills run the hostess desk. We had an 8:30 reservation but were directed to the bar for a 50 minute wait which ended only after several trips to bug the hostess. We were eventually seated at a table right next to the fireplace. The cold, drafty, dead fireplace next to a cold drafty window. Now it’s 9:15 on a Saturday night… the fireplace is big and essentially the centerpiece of the room… do you think they have the awareness to keep the fire going? No, we have to call over a waiter to request that the fire be re-stoked. Puzzled expression, barely concealed annoyance. I see this problem in other reviews of this place. We place our order. I had clams casino, split an iceberg salad with my partner, and had the crab stuffed shrimp as an entrée. The food shows up at an uneven pace, it’s OK but pretty greasy and nothing special. When I get my entrée, the runner drops it at the table(auctioning it off, a pet peeve — who has the shrimp?) but I have no silverware and the waitress is oblivious, chatting with a co-worker on the other side of the room… I have to reach around and poach silverware off another table to eat my entrée. Everything here is a la carte and the prices are New York Special Restaurant expensive. I have eaten at the Gramercy Tavern in NYC, where the food and service is sublime, for substantially less. They charge $ 8 for a baked potato or a side of boiled broccoli which really seems ridiculous. I was not impressed with anything here. Not likely to return.

I was really excited to try brunch here. My husband had a yummy lobster bisque and we were served delicious warm cinnamon rolls but my main course was such a disappointment. I ordered blueberry pancakes and they were dry and inedible. I was so sad :(my husband has the eggs Benedict over steak which he did love. I don’t know if I’d go back to try something else or not. Good service though.
