The WORST company ever. They are actually recommended by APPLE themselves, not sure why! I don’t think i have ever been so disrespected. I dropped off my daughter’s laptop with them fully knowing that I needed it back by the next week. I called back two days later and the woman informed me that they hadn’t even looked at it yet. since then no one has called back, no one is answering the phone, and they are basically holding my laptop hostage. horrible business, wouldn’t even recommend this company to my worst enemy. They finally fixed it in the last hour, boy, how stressful! would definatly seek another company in the future.

Tricom is the only company I will trust with my computer. Chris is extremely knowledgeable and the staff is friendly and helpful. I purchased my macbook pro from them 6 years ago. Recently, I brought it in with one issue which they fixed and they also helped me resolve a couple other small issues while I was there. I am very satisfied with the service at Tricom.

We have been Tricom customers for many years and I could not be more pleased with their service, whether sales or service. My wife just bought a used MacBook Pro. They transferred all the data, settings, and preferences from her old MacBook and explained what would be different from her 8 year old computer and what programs are no longer compatible. They recommended substitutes for the incompatible programs that would be able to open and work with the old data files. Because of what she needs they uninstalled Yosemite and installed an older version of the operating system. We bought it Tuesday afternoon and I picked it up Wednesday morning before I went to work. For what it is worth, I know from my experience in the photography industry that digital storage devices, hard drives or memory cards, can fail. Sometimes the data can be recovered, sometimes not. Sometimes recovery software works. Time consuming but not labor intensive; relatively inexpensive. Like Tricom, when that fails we rely on Drivesavers, one of if not THE best recovery service in the US. Their work is very labor intensive as well as time consuming. Their rates start at around $ 1000 and they bill us whether they succeed or not. Also for what it is worth, correct terminology in electronics is not nit-picky. It can make the difference between getting what you want, or paying big bucks and getting what you *said* you wanted but is not what you actually wanted. And if you said you wanted it and you did not want to be corrected to be sure you got what you needed, and it can’t be returned or the service was performed, you deserve to pay for it.

These guys are the best. I brought my computer in for a memory upgrade, and very helpful, walked me through all the options, and very friendly, too. They’re the best guys to go to if you feel that the level of knowledge & service at the«Genius Bar at an Apple store is sub-par. They also have lots of helpful gadgets and accessories, too.

I purchased a used Macbook Pro Retina from TRICOM and had a great buying experience. TRICOM provided details about the previous owner’s use, cleaned the machine up nicely, and even repackaged it. It was shipped to me promptly and with tracking and signature confirmation.

Hard drive on laptop crashed. Per suggestion of Apple’s Genius Bar, brought to this poor excuse for a business(Apple-authorized third party repair vendor). Three weeks and several calls later, finally«ready», but data not recoverable. Upon inspection, appeared someone had wedged screwdriver behind display. Refused to release until paid in full(over $ 300). Tricom threatened to call police over gross malpractice accusations. Following departure, immediately went to police and reported proceedings. Try as they might, with cheap Ikea furniture and Apple logos pasted all over, they will never be more than a room full of H-U-S-T-L-E-R-hustler(s).

The keyboard on my MacBook Pro was not working completely. I dropped it off on a Wednesday and was told it could be just the ribbon cable, best case scenario, or needed a whole new keyboard, worst case scenario. I stressed how important it was to get my laptop back as soon as possible and was told it would be diagnosed that day, and if parts were needed, they would be ordered and received in 1 – 2 days, and at the latest, I would have my laptop back on that Friday– 2 days. I signed authorization for the work to be done, including worse case scenario of ordering parts. On Friday, I inquired about the status and was told it wasn’t even looked at yet because others had paid to expedite their service. I was never told this could happen, or offered expedited service. I was then told it should be all set on Monday. I called Monday and was told it was hopefully going to be looked at that day and promised a call back that same day. No call back! On Tuesday, I called again and was told they were waiting for me to authorize the parts order and service, something I had done when I dropped it off. When asked why I was told Friday it would be ready, and it wasn’t, it was blamed on «miscommunication». Lame excuse. If there was any miscommunication, it was internally, seeings as though I had authorized the work, but my signature on the work order created confusion to their office. Frustrating. I was then told the part would be ordered and receive an update by end of day Tuesday-which I was. On Wednesday, one week later, my laptop was finally ready for pickup. I arrived to get my machine, hoping for some type of apology for the delay, and hopefully an adjustment in the near $ 400 bill, but they simply cashed me out while the gentleman who told me it would be ready 5 days sooner, avoided contact with me. All in all, the repair was great, my machine now works great. However, the customer service was horrible. It really appears to me that they makes promises to obtain your business because once they have your machine, there isn’t much you can do about it. Their slogan is «Not Geeks, Professionals». I think they got it wrong. The machine was fixed great, perhaps reinforcing their geek-like abilities, however; their broken promises, lame excuses, and blaming me for miscommunication, followed by no adjustment in price or genuine apology for the inconvenience they caused, devalues the professionalism they claim to have. In the future, I would certainly explore my other options before going back to TRICOM.

Great store. I always go here first before going to the Apple store at the mall. Same products, same prices and same knowledgeable employees as the Apple store, but so much more calm and less crowded than the mall. They spend time with me explaining everything and giving me great ideas of how to make my home computer set up more productive. They appear to do a lot of business computer service as we’ll, but I have not used those services.

My logic board died in my old computer and wanted old pics off the hard drive. Since I had a new computer I forgot my old computer was there for months. I never received a call claiming they couldn’t get any info off the hard drive. When I called months later they first said it was picked up and paid for. Then it was they called me and left numerous messages computer was ready for pickup. Apparently, after 90 days they recycle your computer and it is no longer yours. I never received a call or a message. I went in to the store to clarify the situation and the customer service is awful. I was sworn at while the person had her face stuck at a computer with her back towards me. She couldn’t even look me in the face stating she was working on inventory and that we would both be here for 2 hours if she stopped. I would never recommend this store, over priced, rude and too busy for their customers. Warning: Watch what you sign when you give them your computer. Please read the small print.

Be warned that they will charge you $ 125 just to diagnose your machine — or at least, this is what happened to me. I took my machine to the Mac store, they did a software test on my non-responsive disc drive and said it was a hardware issue. And since my machine is older than 5 years, they said they couldn’t service it, but recommended Tricom. I took it to Tricom, told them about the diagnosis the Mac store had done and that it was a hardware issue. Got a call saying that they had done the exact same test as the Mac store and yes, it was a hardware issue. The guy was very nice, he said it would be cheaper to just buy an external drive and I agreed. I was shocked to still get a $ 125 bill. When I mentioned that they did exactly what the Mac store had done, they said that you should never ever go to the Mac store, they don’t know what they’re doing. How uncool is that? The mac store refers me to them, they get $ 125 for doing what the Mac store did for free, then they dis the Mac store. They definitely seem to know their stuff, I don’t think they’re scam artists, I just think some of their policies stink.
