Came with my fiancé for Valentine’s Day dinner 2016. We had a reservation and we were seated quickly. I had the burrata appetizer with grilled vegetables and he had the crab cake. The crab cake had a few pieces of sweet lobster on the top and my burrata was seasoned with herbs and paired with grilled vegetables. For the entrée, we had the prawns and scallops and the duck. Both were cooked perfectly! Dessert was olive oil pound cake. Prices are expensive– it was over $ 250 for dinner but the food and experience was great!

Worst filet mignon I ever had. The grilled veggies were bland. We drove about 30 minutes from Bridgewater to check out this restaurant for nothing. My friend ordered the tilapia and her mashed potatoes looked and tasted like they were instant. To top it all off, the staff was rude.

If you want bland food, this is the place for you. I came here with my husband and we both felt that our food could use more seasoning(that’s if it was even seasoned at all.) The desserts were pretty good. The waiter was friendly and the restaurant has a nice upscale feel. Good for a date night or get together with friends.

Everything was perfect. Great wine. Great food. Awesome service by Surf and his team members. On a busy Saturday night everything was flawless. We will definitely be back. Again and again and again!

Wow! Just got back from the Stone house! What an awesome dining experience. My husband and I went with some good friends and we all really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and impeccable service. Jared was our server(the best) and made excellent recommendations from the wine and beer to the appetizers, main course and dessert. All around this restaurant was perfect. We’re looking forward to the next time!

If there were 0 stars I would give them that but then they would not be in existence which is what their status should be Overpriced bad food. Had Shriimp scampi which should have been called prawn scampi. Whole head on it and absolutely no flavor Others had steaks which were equally flavorless. Buratta app that came with«grilled veggies» that looked like its veggies were taken off some other patrons plate and thrown on mine. Veggies should have been tossed in garbage. Meat plate looked like they got their meats from a package in supermarket. Dessert wasn’t too bad. Best part of meal. One appy, one entrée, one dessert, one drink and coffee and bill was. 108 pp wth tip. I don’t mind paying that much with decent food but hate getting ripped off The place has a nice ambiance which makes me think can be only way it survives I work too hard to get ripped off like this. Don’t go here.

I brought my girlfriend to Stonehouse on Friday January 15th for her 32nd birthday. When I made the reservations on opentable I stated that our reservations were for her birthday. Stonehouse called me the Wednesday before to confirm our reservations. When we arrived, the gentleman at the valet service were great! Once we went inside and sat at our table, we opened up the menus and they printed out menus specifically for us that said Happy 32nd Birthday Adrienne! For appetizers we had sushi and the arugula salad which were absolutely amazing! Perfect flavors and great presentation. For entrees we split the salmon and a skirt steak which both were cooked to perfection! My girlfriend ordered 2 glasses of which were comped since it was her birthday which was very nice of them. Dessert was the brownie smore which was very good as well. All in all our experience was fantastic. The building is gorgeous and the staff were incredible. Even other servers who weren’t our original server helped to take care of us. We will most certainly be coming back

How bout an update? When I last reviewed Stone House, I wrote that we would be back for dinner one of these days. Well, one of these days turned into over a year but my wife and I did return, this time accompanied by our fifteen year old son. We were looking forward to an excellent meal. Like brunch in 2014, good but not extraordinary. Beef carpaccio, calamari and angry mussels to start. Duckhorn«Decoy» Pinot Noir. My wife loved the carpaccio, a flavorful combo of shaved beef and arugula. My son giggled, as did I when the ten rings of calamari arrived. Who decided on ten? Tender and delicious, though. The mussels? I will be dreaming of the mussels for a long time to come. This appetizer has landed in my top ten of all time-it was spectacular. A generous portion of mussels in a smoky, very spicy broth accompanied by two large wedges of country type bread for dunking. Just outstanding. But trouble was on the horizon. My son and I ordered something called a flat iron steak, rare and medium rare. What arrived was several slices of beef accompanied by some roasted potatoes and a couple of spears of asparagus. The steak, cooked to order, was without flavor. Bland. Disappointing. Probably, the worst steak I have ever had. Reminded me of a bad catered affair type entrée. My son came to a similar conclusion. Thankfully, I ordered a side of Stone House’s excellent fries which made me happy. I gave several slices of my steak to my son who was still hungry after finishing his portion. My wife enjoyed her entrée very much. Strozzapreti-pasta in a bolognese sauce. The serving was ample enough to bring some home. Dessert was very good. Banana bread pudding, fruit crisp with ice cream and chocolate cake. Service was excellent. We were not rushed at all. Stone House is a great looking place where it is possible to have a nice meal. It’s a shame that the food was so wildly inconsistent.

They seated us next to the noisy kitchen and staff. All I heard to clinging of dishes and the staff talking. It was awful until I asked them to seat a little further from the kitchen. I wanted to sit below where the ambiance was a little better but they couldn’t seat us in the main dining because we were not a party of 4 but 2, which was a little bit ridiculous. Not all tables in the main dining needed to be a table of 4 or more, whoever did the planning did a poor job on that. The food was okay but completely overpriced, nothing great. I wasn’t impressed with the menu and they don’t have a wide variety of selections to choose from. I finally choose a pasta dish with pesto but the pasta was so al dente that it was like eating raw pasta. I did tell them when I ordered to make it a little softer than al dente but they didn’t and I had to send the pasta back. They did make me a new dish which lacked the pesto sauce. Needless to say we paid $ 300 dinner with tip and wasn’t happy with this place. I wouldn’t go to the Stonehouse again, it was a waste of money.

Very nice restaurant which had lively crowd. Singer and guitar player in the bar. The food was ok. Nothing great. The presentation is quite nice, but I found the food to be bland. I had the tuna tar tar which was bland and the osso bucco which was overlooked and not very tasty. I’m thinking from the large crowd that maybe it was bad luck on my part as far as what I had ordered. The service was very good. I’ll likely go back and give it another chance.

Maybe 3 stars . You remember that gorgeous woman? The one who had nothing interesting or intriguing about her besides her looks? Well meet Stone House. This place is gorgeous. I mean you feel like you are in maybe a resort in Colorado, with great views, definitely a great place to have a wedding. I’m sure it would be between 4 and 5 stars when it comes to wedding venue depending on the price. The Food was decent but overpriced. I mean I found the Calamari to be good, the burger was okay, and everything else I had was alright. I really wasn’t impressed with the Menu. I think when you do spend what you spend here you want to make sure you feel it was something out of the ordinary. Usually when you pay what the prices are here, you expect to experience some type of ambianace… I felt indifferent about the whole restaurant. It was great to look at but once inside and seated? Blah The service wasn’t bad but it definitely wasn’t good. The vibe is nice here, but maybe it’s better at night and in the summer lol. It does feel like an escape from everything because this place is isolated and you feel you are no longer in the NYC grind. Overall I might come back here for a date or something this isn’t a place I found to me too memorable.

I met some friends here and we sat outside and had a drink. The drinks range in price from $ 6 for a beer to $ 12 for a drink, There is a very large rectangular bar, tables all around. The bar has white lights all above it. In one corner is a wood-burning stove, and they make homemade pizzas. You can sit at the bar and eat or grab one of the many tables all around. At the opposite corner is a huge outdoor fireplace that is almost an entire wall. This gives a very cozy feel especially at night. There we’re tables and chairs all around. You can definitely have a drink and have conversation too … As I walked around I saw different types of antique mirrors, wrought iron sculptures, and paintings on the fence. What I thought was very clever, there is a round table with a fire pit in the middle. U can actually roast your own s’mores. Down and across from there is another long table with a sunken level and water going all around it… This place is very unique… It is also very romantic too. I saw quite a few small corporate parties going on. There is also outside dining all around the main dining room. This is very enjoyable at night, it overlooks the outside bar area. The Stone House has several large rooms which would be good for a wedding, birthday party, corporate event you name it… Once Inside I was greeted by a friendly staff. On my way out I was given a small white bag with homemade cookies and a chocolate truffle inside. This is a very nice touch… The cookies were delicious and the chocolate truffle melted in my mouth. Next time I come I will try the food. But for now the drinks were very enjoyable…

My husband and I came here on a recommendation from a friend because we were looking for an outdoor place. This was the best place recommended to us in a while. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are well maintained. The outdoor fireplaces, seating, bar were amazingly romantic and well maintained. The drinks were very good, a little expensive, but good. The food and service were very good as well. Our waitress was very attentive and our entrees were very good, but the shrimp was just a little over cooked. The portions aren’t huge, but they are what a normal portion of food really should be. For dessert we had the s’mores brownie sundae and it was delicious. Definitely, walk around and find a place in the back where it’s quiet. Also, in the summer, they have live bands on the weekend. We def will be back. Just wish we found this place before summer was ending.

My brother got married at Stone House at Stirling Ridge in May, and it was INCREDIBLY beautiful. The staff was attentive beyond expectations. They beyond bent over backwards for everyone through the planning process, and that day was flawless. The setting was just beautiful beyond words, and everyone had an amazing time. We just went back for my dad’s 65th birthday(even though it is quite a trip), and we called ahead to make sure that they would have a vegetarian dish for me. They did not disappoint! Once again the staff treated us spectacularly(different people from the wedding staff), and even let us bring a tart I baked from home as a dessert, which most restaurants do not allow or charge you to plate it. They were incredibly gracious. The place was packed, but the atmosphere was still intimate. I LOVE this place!

The ambiance of this restaurant is just simple stunning and a great place for a special occasion, date night, or a just because night. However, I do wish when you were greeted at the door they would ask you if you have been there before. Reason why I state that is when we were leaving we heard music playing outside — knowing that we would of wanting to be seated out there. The food was creative and very tasty and yes it did have a price tag to go with it — hence why I stated before special occasion, date night, or a just because night. What is special upon leaving is they give you a bag of cookies. How great is that… The only thing I got to say what is very weird about the whole experience is upon leaving when retrieving your car from valet(because that is the only thing they have) they do not tell you how to get out of the place which is around the island and come back the way you came in, go back into the parking lot, around the building and out the other side. The next time we do come to NJ(which I do hope is soon before the summer is over) we will be definitely coming to visit.

I give Stone House a strong 4 — 4 on food and a 5 on ambience(outside). We went here for our anniversary and sat outside. The grounds outside are awesome! Enough people have written about that so I won’t keep repeating but it is as advertised. The food itself was pretty good. We started with clams and sushi. The clams were very small and kind of fishy. More clamy than I like my clams to taste. For an entrée I got the soft shell crab special. Pretty good but nothing to rave about. My wife got the chicken Milanese. That was good as well. For the prices though I expect a bit better. After getting the cannolis for dessert we were too stuffed to make s’mores. We did however hang at the bar for a few more drinks and enjoy the outside and the band. Like I said this is a strong 4. I would recommend trying it for yourself, just don’t put the food on a pedestal before you go.

The food is always so mediocre and is very expensive. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and outdoors is beautiful. The service is always sub-par. Drinks are never taken or forgotten, orders are messed up, waiters are frantic. You’re better off not eating here and just coming for drinks.

Ditto on the ambiance and décor from other Unilocalpers. This place would have gotten a solid 4 or even a full on 5 if it wasn’t for the service level once my party of 5 had arrived. I don’t understand in what restaurant is it OK to wait 20 minutes just to receive the menu, 25 minutes in to order initial drinks, and rounding out to 35 minutes to finally place an order. Yes, I was timing it — No, I’m not crazy. The oddest thing, I thought, was that for a restaurant of this caliber(and price range) that we’d have the manager for the evening to greet us at the end of the service; however that didn’t happen. I mean — come on — they do that at an Applebee’s. It actually became comical as we tried to flag the hostess who sat us to get a menu. Instead, she had a blank stare as if she was practicing the are of sleeping with her eyes open. I mean — it was a Wednesday night, and it wasn’t at all busy — I’d probably do the same. Rant — off. Ok — so we finally order food, and the pace begins to improve. Food and drinks came out within a reasonable time from ordering(we were worried for a second that it would take forever). But, the outstanding food gestures from other Unilocalers prevailed — food was great! Table appetizers: — Angry Mussels — great hit of garlic and tomatoe/spice. I’m not sure what the flavors were, as nothing stood out — which is a good thing, as the dish flavor was well balanced and mussels were cooked well. — Truffle Parm Fries — huge helping of fries! This technically wasn’t on the appetizer section, but was on the ‘side’ order My meal — was the Short Rib dish. It was perfectly cooked, the meat fell of the bone, and I did not at all need a knife to cut it. It was served on top of a polenta blue cheese mash, with broccoli rabe. I’d hope this is a popular/regular dish on the menu as this would be the only reason to come back. If I ever do, i’d plan to come on a weekend, perhaps when its more busy and the staff is more attentive of customers.

By far this is one of our fav. places to eat in NJ. Stone House provides a unique sense of style and fine dining. Great atmosphere at a unique location. Its absolutely worth the drive if you do not live close to it. The food as well as the customer service is exceptional. Not just that, due to its location, there’s poor phone signal, dot frown yet, it works out great to our advantage, and let us tell you how. First of all its a getaway from the daily hustle and bustle, so for a few hours of no cell phone reception will do your night out great good. It will smoothen your moment to great conversation, and much deserved attention over good food and fine wine. We go here at least once a year, just to make it more intimate and special. Something we look forward to, and we are beginning to think, once a year is not enough. Its beautiful, the food is great, the people are nice, its so clean, and well kept, and trust that you cannot go wrong with this place. Love, Dennis&Lilian
