Sunrise Diner

Had to drop my car off for some work at the Mazda dealership, so I decided to go across the street to the sunrise dinner for lunch! My boyfriend and I got seated right away. The staff was friendly and helpful with the menu. The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean! I ordered the California burger, and my boyfriend ordered the Texas burger! Delicious. Definitely will be back for more.

Been here a bunch of times since moving to the area and have never been disappointed. Their breakfast is great, the service has been good, and I even had leg of lamb for dinner once there and that was good, too! All around a good diner.

We continue to go to this diner bc it’s convenient. Every time we go, we get our food, and say this is the last time we will come here. Waiters are somewhat kind, but we know them, we’ve been going for years. If we weren’t «usual» customers they would
Come across extremely rude. The food is always dry and the eggs are always burnt. Worst omelette ever. We «finally» specifically requested that our omelette was not brown when we ordered it, we had enough courage to finally do so, ten minutes later our Two burnt omelettes came
To the table. We are done with the Sunrise diner. 40 years in business no longer means anything. Any one whom knows what good food is would never come here.

This is my go-​to hometown diner. The food is good and usually fresh and pretty consistent. However, lately the servers have had such an attitude and treated us so nastily, that I believe tonight was my last trip there.
No respect or courtesy from our waiter from the time we sat down and he said «what do you want?» to the time we left and he miscalculated our bill and came back to replace it with one of a higher cost. He also messed up my order due to not listening, and kept slamming our drinks and dishes down. The only polite people were the bus boys, who did ten times more than our waiter did.
First time in my life I didn’t tip a waiter. Shame on them.

Great food Great service. Wouldn’t let us in the Lighthouse diner because I had a coffee in my hands. Really… Way to loose a customer. Cams across the street to this place. It’s excellent.

So we get an indifferent waiter. Same as every diner. Doesn’t hear a thing we say. Doesn’t listen. Screws up an omelette. Bad. And the kitchen cooked it to death! Dry would have been ok (not), but this was DEAD!
And on the other orders, he didn’t warn us that the eggs came sunny. Burnt plastic bottom, raw top. BLECH!!!
If he asked, we would have kindly requested over easy. But it doesn’t seem the kitchen can do anything other than put the same crappy diner food on fancier plates.
Too bad. This place *SHOULD* be one of the best around. It’s not. At all. It’s the same as every other factory diner. BLECH!

Came in here for dinner around 7:30 a couple days ago. The diner was about ¾ full so we were seated right away. I ordered a turkey club sandwich for $ 12 and my girlfriend ordered a chicken panini which came to about $ 14. The turkey club was okay. There was not a lot of turkey on the bread which I was surprised about because of the great reviews of the food on Unilocal.The tomatoes on the panini looked old also. Although, the tomatoes on my club looked fresh. I will say that the waiter was very nice and our water glasses were always full. Nothing stood out about this diner compared to the numerous other diners in the area. Definitely not the best place to get a turkey club.

I have eaten at the Sunrise Diner on average four times per week for nearly 20 years. I have never had a sub-​par meal. The food is exactly what you ordered, cooked to perfection and is always delivered hot. The waiters know you by name and go out of their way to refill your cup of coffee or soda before needing to ask. They give you extra napkins exactly at the right time. All of the owners are very welcoming and always have a nice word. One of the owners, Jerry, is constantly reinventing the Diner, new dishes, with hi tech special of the night menu board and now internet ordering and local delivery. The bus boys fill your water at the exact moment you think of it. Empty dishes are cleared from table like lightning.
My favorite is the burger deluxe and their spinach pie and geek salad combo is tasty and filling.

Quite a pleasant surprise for a midnight meal after the bar with my girlfriends. Ordered the gyro platter because let’s be honest I’m always in the mood for a gyro. Came with a lamb gyro, side salad and fries (opted for a baked potato instead) for $ 13. The gyro meat was thick and juicy, gyro itself was on the smaller side, but the meat was very tasty. Side salad was fresh and covered in feta, just the way I like it. Baked potato, was a baked potato. Tzatziki and dressing to the salad both came on the side. My friends ordered a panini and wrap and enjoyed both. Very friendly service even though it was pretty late. Way better than Lighthouse Diner.

Above all, this is based on the staff and management. This was my first time there and while the food was good, it was the owner that was memorable. He and his staff are reason enough to go back.

Absolutely delicious dinner, great service. The owners are absolutely delightful as well — we are new to the area and they took the time to welcome us. Gave us great suggestions of other spots to have dinner. Can’t wait to go back for another meal at the counter!

Love this place. Will always be the Diner of choice for us. Amazing service and all seem so happy to work there. The owner is a great guy and they always go out of there way to make us smile!

Great fast service and nice atmosphere. Great for meeting with friends and enjoying the food as well. Our waiter is awesome too.

Im not a diner person unless its for breakfast. BUT THIS PLACE changed my opinion on. this diner.
first time– we ordered guac for the table… its tableside fancy guac and its phenomenal. The chips ARE AMAZING.
I split a chicken teriyaki meal with a friend and they literally split the portion for us. i know well established restaurants that wouldnt go that extra mile but this diner does.
with our meal came salad (they split up for us) rice, and MUSSELLS MARINARA — all ffor 20 bucks. I was stuffed.
second time i came here i had an omelette (and the guac again bc its that good) and the omelette was perfect.
The service is great, the staff is so nice. I will def come back for desserts and milkshakes and of course… the guac

This is my go-​to neighborhood diner. Their lunch specials are really good, especially the roast beef & mozzarella on garlic toast. I like that you can choose between french fries or a tasty chickpea salad as a side. Classic diner fare of burgers and tuna mels are good as well. Service is fast though parking is tight and occasionally have to walk over from an overflow lot down the street. It’s worth the trek, however.

The Nutella Cheesecake milkshake! Please get it. Thank me later. A generous slice of cheesecake + Nutella … It shouldn’t be allowed.
BTW, chicken burger was a little dry and underwhelming. Stick to their juicy turkey burger instead.

If there was a time machine and you could go back to when service was amazing this is as close as you’ll get. Service is top notch! Great food, nice portions and good prices. Most important part of the experience is Rudy. Rudy is a waiter who makes the diner what it is! He is so professional and attentive without being annoying. This guy should start his own waiter school. Everyone should be like Rudy! Go here and enjoy!

My sister asked to pick a place for her birthday so based on Unilocal reviews I picked this place. My family liked it and I think if I had ordered something different I might have enjoyed it more. If I do go back and order something different I will update my review to reflect that.
The place was clean, and the servers were very nice. I can’t publish this photo but after singing happy birthday to my sister the servers agreed to take a birthday photo with her.
I wasn’t really happy with my heuvos rancheros. I was really excited about ordering them and everything else on the menu looked terrific so I expected my food to be great too. The black beans could have used more seasoning and the portion size could have been bigger. Sometimes I am a hungry girl so when I get a portion smaller than what I was expecting it does disappoint me a little bit. The salsa served with the dish was slightly runny too.
The diner is also very cramped. It looks great but there’s so many tables packed into one little space and I don’t dig spaces that make me feel like I’m practically on top of other people or bumping into other people to get to my table.
So if I come back and order a different dish and like it more I’ll be happy to update my review and give this place more stars.

I STRONGLY disagree with the negative reviews.
I eat here so often and the staff are so friendly and treat you like family. The food is amazing for diner food and the Greek food which is normally just so so at diners, is authentic and delicious.
They have amazing appetizers and in addition to the normal diner apps they have unique items like the sampler of olive tapenade, humus, tzatziki with pita… just wow.
The quality of the food is great as well and is ALWAYS fresh.
My favorite breakfast is the omelet with bacon, cheddar and avocado… so good! The home fries are great too, I like them well done and never have to send them back.
What I love the most about this place is that if you are in the mood for typical diner food you can come here for a bacon cheese burger or BLT but if you’re in the mood for something a lithe fancier, you can get it here and not be disappointed.
I am always excited when I try something new here.
The diner itself may not have a ton of parking spots but there is parking a lll over in that area… I have never not gotten a spot in the lot but if I couldn’t I would just park on the street so I find it a little unfair for someone to act like they can’t park. I wouldn’t call this diner tiny either… it’s not huge but they have I think 5 really large booths at the front, a whole dining room, a bunch of 2 seater booths on the side. It’s smaller than an average diner but FAR from «tiny».
