Cant say ive ever been here sober, but its always been great while intoxicated, and a great 5 second walk across the street from all the bars and train.

If you want cheap prices, quick service, and good food, this is your place to go! We come here every once in a while and decided to come here Memorial Day weekend – boy was it busy! Most people would probably get really turned off by the amount of noise in the restaurant, and it definitely does leave for a lot of room for error on behalf of the waiters; however, everyone from the hostess to the wait staff were courteous, attentive, and pleasant! My boyfriend swears by their corn beef hash and claims it’s the best he’s ever had. I normally go for their sandwiches or wraps and I’m never disappointed. They give you options to substitute your fries for onion rings, sweet potato fries, waffle fries, etc., which is cool. You really can’t go wrong with this place!!!

Nice diner right on Sunrise Hwy in Wantagh. Very clean, great service and top notch food. Hot delicious coffee poured immediately as I sat. Fast service with a smile. I had an egg white omelette with home fries and breakfast sausage links and whole wheat toast. Omelette was on point, not over or undercooked. Home fries had a nice crust with not too many onions. The sausages were nice and plump not those small skinny ones. Toast was just right, not too light or too dark, lightly buttered not saturated. Unlimited coffee refills had me visiting the bathroom which was clean and neat. All in all I like this place a lot and highly recommend it.

The wait staff was excellent. The owners«daughter» who was the apparent ‘Sargent’ in charge, not so nice. My family prefers to use plastic utensils. This diners«rules» state no plastic utensils in the dining area. I asked 3 times to please use the take out plastic utensils. This owners daughter stated with a smirk, nope, not in the dining room. She seemed very happy with her decision. She seemed so pleased with herself, making this very definite decision, a big decision for her, it seemed. «Available for take out only.» Since this was more incredible than unbelievable, we deceided to take out our diner, as we were concerned for our waiter. This diners management may use things like this in a negative way towards their staff. This was very troubling to hear, so we made no trouble for them, as they were truly nice people who were well mannered and knowledgable on their menu. The food was awful. I actually could not finish the fish dish we ordered, and the rice was less than acceptable. I give it a one package of Alia seltzer rating with a follow up of 2 tums. Pretty ugly. When we want to take the night off in our house for an evening out, to hopefully enjoy a dinner out, the ‘Lighthouse Diner’ will never be on the menu.

Everything a diner should be — 24 hours, good food, good prices & good service. Nothing fancy but super clean & friendly servers too! Enjoy!

It’s a diner in Wantagh on sunrise highway. Great service and it is, what it is. I ordered dessert and Jamaican coffee. Waiter was pleasant and efficient. Why not? Go for it.

I went for breakfast, the food was just ok. I went to order coffee and I Always get a small glass or container of milk for the coffee at any restaurant I order coffee from… They refused and said it was against there policy to give me milk in anything but those little packets! I said r I kidding me! And refused the coffee and that ruined my breakfast experience with my good friends. The manager even had the audacity to come over and reiterate their policy about the milk. I will not be returning to this diner soon…

I have been a customer of the diner for years, until today, I will NEVER go there again. my friends and I have been going there at least once a week and have loved it. Tonight we went and we had this horrible server she had no idea what she was doing and she had strong accent that made It hard to understand. I ordered what I normal order, however I can’t eat potatoes so I asked if I could substitute them. I wanted sautéed spinach which she said that would be extra. The server said she it would be extra which was the same price as the regular menu price so that made no sense I was taking something away but yet paying the same price as if I got the fries and had to pay full menu price for the spinach. So the server said I could get sautéed broccoli without charging more. So I was like fine. Then the server brought our food and she had both sautéed spinach and sautéed broccoli I told her I didn’t want the spinach so she took it away, I look up and the old tall man gave me a dirty look turns out I’m told that was the owner. So eat everything fine. We get the check and there is an extra charge on the bill… So I go to the counter to pay and I ask the guy what is the Extra charge he says it for the sautéed broccoli so I say the server told me that it was no charge substitute for the french fries(all very petty stuff, more the principle) He go to the old tall man(owner) to ask comes back and says no he isn’t taking the extra charge off, so I asked him to get the owner… He comes out with an attitude it tell him the story and he keeps saying too bad you ate it you pay for it, I told him if I was gonna pay for it I would have ordered the spinach he said too bad not his problem. All while the server just stood there knowing she was wrong so I say to the owner I will pay the Extra charge but me nor my friends or family will ever come back… And he like ok «no big deal, that’s fine» totally a rude stupid man. Bottom line if an owner doesn’t care about his loyal long time customers he shouldn’t be in business.

The best breakfast and one of the best meals I’ve had him on the fourth diners I visited in the past week and a half. Service was good and friendly, but at least one important instruction was not passed on to the kitchen. Nice atmosphere convenient on sunrise Highway parking is plentiful. This is a good thing the situation, will have to visit again. Had some yummy scrambled eggs with bacon that crisp enough potatoes were well done even without asking, which is a big plus. Prices are more reasonable than others in the area. All good from my perspective

Very solid choice for a diner. Service was great on a Saturday night. We were greeted right away and seated. The waitress just seemed to know whenever we needed her and was always there if we needed anything. The prices aren’t too bad meanwhile some diners are starting to get expensive. Ordered a cheeseburger medium with onion rings instead of fries. Burger was cooked perfectly and came with two slices of cheese. Good onions rings too. After eating I ordered a chocolate shake and it was very good and it was made with chocolate ice cream, not vanilla with chocolate syrup. Shake was thick but drinkable. I dine here fairly often and it is very consistent.

We called back to the diner trying to speak to the manager. Manager put our waitress in the phone. She said oh, sorry about that. So basically manager wasnt even trying to talk to us. So obviously they know about BUGPROBLEMS there and not doung anything about it. They just said over all«just deal with the bugs in your soup». My husband right now sick as hell after eating their burger!!! Please dont waist your health in that place!!!

So. Where do I start? The slow service and waiter that really didn’t want to help or do nothing at all? The food that was horrible? The panini that was ANYTHINGBUT a panini. Overall horrible experience. First and last time I’ll ever be here I would give it 0 stars if I could

Ok. Its a diner. I’m not expecting miracles. So the other night we walk in and my friend orders a burger, medium rare. I said I’ll have the same. The waiter decides to strongly suggest I get«well done». Ok. I think he’s trying to tell me something. My friend gets the typical pinkish center in a dry burger. I get a charred hockey puck. I ask the waiter for some brown gravy. Hopefully to help moisten this brick. He comes, I put it in my mouth, I try to swallow. I’m not sure why he strongly suggested welldone. The burgers are the same as any diner. Dry mystery meat. Maybe they weren’t fresh? Maybe the kitchen staff wasn’t doing the right thing? I’m laughing now. It’s a diner. Not a dining destination. LOL!

Have been a customer for 5 years. The food quality and freshness has declined so bad. I have been asking if they changed the cook. I was told they had a new cook.ok.but it’s more than bad cooking, the food itself is low quality meats and reheated over. The Owners daughter is there mostly now and she has terrible customer service skills, she is so obnoxious as most of the waitstaff. The hostess is nice, unfortunately for Nick, the owner that will not be enough for his business to survive. I won’t be surprised if they go out of business very soon. I am going to the Diner across the street from now on.

I rarely leave negative posts! However there was a dead fly baked into my waffle and I find that to be completely disgusting! I have been to the diner many times over the years but I haven’t been there in a very long time I must say the owner or the manager or whoever it was apologized and did not charge me for my meal the waiter was completely unapologetic totally gross situation and I will not be returning!

Visit Date: June 19, 2015 I’ve been here before but surprisingly I never reviewed it. My most recent visit was a group visit with my family and an old family friend. I had the bread from the bread basket, mozarella sticks, and the greek pizza. Everything was delicious, the bread was fresh with just a tiny amount of crustiness to it. The mozzarella sticks were cheesy and salty and when they were dipped in the marinara sauce there was just the right amount of great tastiness. The greek pizza was pretty good too. Lots of cheese which I loved along with a generous amount of spinach and tomato sauce. I do like this diner and don’t mind coming back over and over again.

I can am incredibly impressed with this diner in Wantagh across from the LIRR. I ordered the Greek omelette which consists of feta cheese and spinach with a side of well done home fries, rye toast, and a side of very well done bacon. The bacon was definitely the largest side order I have ever received and it was cooked perfectly crisp unlike most restaurants that place a soft, fatty side in front of your face. I am also impressed with the prices at this diner! A Greek omelette is $ 6.95 compared to many other diners with a price point of about $ 9.95 for the exact same thing. The server was incredibly accommodating and friendly and gave just the right amount of service we needed. I enjoy good service but at diners, you usually have the server you can never find or the complete opposite and they are literally stalking you to finish half of your meal so they can drop the check right away. I will definitely be back to this diner!

We were seated and greeted right away around 11am. We both ordered an unsweetened iced tea. I got a BLT on white toast and my mom got a cup of chicken noodle and a turkey burger on whole grain bread with a side of Russian dressing. The unsweetened iced tea tastes like it’s from the tap. The BLT was loaded. So much lettuce that I took a bit off. I’ve never seen so much bacon before on a BLT which was a nice change. They gave me two packets of Hellman’s mayo which was the perfect amount. My mom’s cup of soup was good and she loved the turkey burger. She said it was just like the one from her favorite diner that is no longer open. I love that the receipt is a printed receipt and not a crappy hand written one where you can’t figure out what they wrote. It’s really clean inside. The staff is nice and not snotty like some diners. It’s beautiful inside too.
