Let me say that thee is no better ice cream in the area! They have every flavor imaginable. The salads are good and so are the burgers. The people that work here are all really nice!

Okay, so I have lived in Merrick, then Bellmore all my life, and I don’t know why, but I have never been to this place. We were looking to walk to the diner for dinner and decided to give this place a shot, instead. Boy were we pleased. Let’s hold off on the HUGE selection of HOMEMADE ice cream they display in a case that seems to go on forever. First the food itself. I decided if I was going to gorge myself on ice cream later, maybe I should stick to a salad with a scoop of chicken salad. I could have done without the chicken salad and been happier actually. The chicken salad was just okay, but the salad and dressing were amazing. I got the San Remo salad, which was huge and full of strawberries, pears and pine nuts. The balsamic dressing was so good. I really loved this salad. We also got an order of wedge fries for the table… my favorite kind of fries and I was not disappointed. They were also very good. The menu is huge though, so it may take you a while to decide. I can’t wait to go back and try a burger or sandwich. On to the ice cream… OMG, the ice cream… I got a kid’s size sundae, and SO glad I did, because it was tremendous. The ice cream is clearly homemade and so was the whipped cream which was outstanding. For me and my family this place was a homerun. It is reasonably priced and the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Prepared to be overwhelmed a little with choices to make on food and ice cream selections. Their are worse problems to have! Just be aware, no credit cards accepted. Cash only.

Been to a lot of beach type towns for dinner recently. The place was at a kill as the lunch crowd just left and the hungry dinner crowd was yet to line up at the door. It is a family restaurant so the servers were used to gaggles of kids and little one requesting samples of their almost hundred varieties of gelato. Enjoyed an opens faced falafel and Greek salad for dinner. And a turtle brownie ice cream. If you all can agree on the same kind of ice cream you can try for their largest bowl.

You can definitely tell how much better the original is! I won’t go back to the rvc location after they sold it, it’s not the same. By far the best ice cream on Long Island(try exotic cookie, rainbow cookie, Fiume, chocolate sorbet) and put it on a waffle — amazing! I also love their food but my favorite is their grilled chicken Caesar salad — the dressing is not you’re average caesar dressing it’s balsamic vinegar based and best I’ve ever had.

Don’t worry about negative feedback, if you haven’t already been here for ice cream, give it a try… Been to both the one in Rvc and this one, even though they are separate places, they are both equally awesome.

I came here with my boyfriend for an ice cream date and we had the banana split to share. It comes with 3 flavors of ice creams and two toppings. Therefore, we chose rainbow cookie, mint chocolate chip and chocolate. We chose hot fudge and chocolate crunchies for toppings. The waitress was good and the ice cream was very good. A little overwhelming but good. Located in Bellemore Village and good parking. However, the diner looks outdated and needs to be more modernized inside. Needs newer décor.

Had high hopes for this place as family took us here for a diner like experience. Knowing how their kids eat I should have known they could vouch only for dessert and not really food. The menu was quite varied with a lot of favorites. I decided to keep it simple and get a sausage and peppers hero, my wife and son had chicken parmigiana hero. They had the same impression I had, a dry sandwich that seemed to be bread heavy. Also each of the sandwiches came with a slice of iceberg lettuce & tomato, almost like a wedge salad usually with these selections you wouldn’t add lettuce. In any case moving onto dessert and the large selection of gelato. I had something called cannoli cassata, which lent me to believe it would taste like a cannoli(which it did) but not sure about the cassata(which I assume would be cake like), seemed to have candied fruit like pieces in it. The others in my party had other gelato flavors which were good but not special. Interesting place, perhaps I didn’t order the right food and didn’t hit upon their strengths.

Waffles and ice cream… GREAT! Service… not so GREAT! Walked in at 10:14 pm and got verbally attacked by an employee that they do not seat anyone after 10:15. Immediately after that we were seated by a much kinder server. What kind of diner closes at 10:30? p. s. the cups – way too small! water… stale!!!

I have come here several times over the years, usually for dessert or a midnight snack. I usually get their chocolate peanut butter milk shake and sometimes their Belgian Waffles. Their regular food is pretty good. They have a lot of great flavors of ice cream which is what they are known for. Pricing is reasonable and staff is nice. I think the inside could use a tiny bit of sprucing including the one bathroom they have.

So many choices! My favorite is the pasta, but whatever you choose, leave room for dessert, the gelato is delectable. The«kiddie» one scoop is enough to satisfy kids(and adults) of all ages. Bring cash, as they don’t accept credit cards.

This place was great the last time I came here. That was quite a while ago. Who knows when that was. Is this place still great? Not really. Despite their ice cream being pretty good, the other grub isn’t really that great. The fish tasted too fishy, the Mac and cheese was too stale and it tasted like box Mac and cheese. What else would be worse than the grub? Service. After our food got served, our waitress never came back to ask how our food was. Isn’t this like a precedent that is practiced everywhere? I also overheard a man at another table say that his plate was dirty when he got it. Ew… After we were done with our food, our waitress never came back for another half hour. When she did come back with our check, she almost handed us the wrong check!(Hopefully that check was cheaper than ours) For the record, I didn’t tip our waitress. This place has seen better days indeed. Their ice cream is still great, but go to Krisch’s if you want good entrees(they have great ice cream too).

I have been wanting to visit this restaurant since its been on Man vs Food. So decided to stop in for dessert only. The restaurant is big but needed a face lift. Reminded me of a diner, not a restaurant feel or vibe. The place was half empty, so we got seated within few minutes. I ordered a waffle sundae and my cousin got the cookie sundae. Both were quite delicious! The cookie did get hard, but still tasted good. The waffle was soft and chewy freshly made. Got the Nutella flavored gelato on my waffle, awesome combo. Now for the negatives… It’s cash only, but why?!! It’s a huge diner like restaurant and they decide to go cash only. Not only is the décor old but so are the payment method. They should have a better sign which states that, instead of a small paper in front by the register. We literally had to dig through our bags for cash. Next issue, you have to pay at the register. This would have been fine if the waitress actually told us. We waited around 10 mins before I asked another server. Our waitress gave us the bill and ignored us as she waited other tables. My desserts were good but the service was disappointing. Would prob not go back to sit and dine, maybe just pick up the gelato.

The best waffles and gelato on Long Island. The owner Toni is a gem! She makes all the flavors herself and always comes up with new ones. I have been a regular here for decades,

Wow. I’ve been wanting to come here for the longest after watching that«Man vs Food» show a few years ago. Soooo after a wonderful, fun, sunny and spectacular day at the beach, we wanted to come here and see what they got. Omg, place is amazing. As soon as you go in, there’s like a plethora of ice cream flavors. So many, that I either lost count or don’t remember their names. We were seated immediately and our server took care of us. Right across from where we were sitting, a family of 10 were digging for sweet creamy gold from a huge vessel. Later on, it turned out they were feasting on ‘The Universe’. A Massive bowl full with«only» 60 scoops of cream– that’s all. My husband and I were not that ambitious. I went for a 3 scoop sundae while my hubby went for the waffle and 1 scoop. Nonetheless, our desserts were huge and I was getting pretty full. ***Tip– NOCARDS… Bring $$ By the way, Toni was a sweetheart and what nice attitude. Thanks a bunch

Came by for dessert over the weekend. CG mentioned this place is a neighborhood favorite and also once featured Man vs. Food. I must have missed that episode but I was all about trying this hot spot. Atmosphere is very casual and basic, typical café. The endless gelato display was immediately to the right upon entering the establishment and a sight to behold. So many interesting names and colors! We were seated promptly and easily decided on a waffle with two scoops — the smell of them being made when we entered convinced us. We had gianduia and salted caramel to top it off. The waffle was very disappointing. It was chewy yet dry and did not compliment the gelato. Tasted worse than some box mix waffles I’ve had. I wished I got a cone instead. The gianduia(dark chocolate with hazelnut) was rich and and pretty good but I didn’t enjoy the salted caramel. Overall, the gelato is just ok. Far from amazing. Quantity over quality here. I’ve had incredible gelato before and this was not it. Return trip is unlikely.

On Long Island. International Delight Café is Ice Cream/Gelato. What Maureen’s is to breakfast, Bigelow’s is to fried seafood, La Parma is to Italian food, Montauk is to summer. etc. Well that’s what this place is to ice cream. Famous for years in RVC this Bellmore village location is just as good for stopping in and finding amazing top quality high volume, serious business ice cream and gelato. This is how chocolate ice cream is supposed to look! Dark and really good. the real deal! Tiramisu, cannoli, black raspberry, all done really well. I stopped into a cute ice cream shop in the Hamptons last week and they told us they get their ice cream here. Its a safe bet that you will love something in here. Waffles made while you wait too. don’t do it. lol

Went here last night with my family to grab some dessert. I tried the fettuccine Alfredo for dinner and it was good! Not your usual Alfredo sauce but still good. But the gelato. Oh the gelato. There were so many flavors I just wanted to try them all! They all have interesting names too so we had to ask what some things were. My dad got the UFO gelato. My mom got Hawaiian heaven. I tried the mini m&m, batter blast and double dough(chocolate gelato with cookie dough and brownie). And oh man they were good. DEFINITELY will be back to try the waffles with gelato on them. I’m sure it’ll be delicious. Only complaint was that there must’ve been a birthday party or something and a couple kids were screaming. Like actually screaming for fun and the parents weren’t doing anything.

I can’t believe i never wrote a review before of this gem. I live down the block and am able to walk to this spot. They have the best gelato around. Tonight i took home the Amaretto and the Cannoli and both are amazing. I also grabbed a burger and mashed to go and they are both great as well. The place is really cute and the employees are very helpful and friendly. It smells wonderful in here and so what they don’t take credit cards if you are basing your review on that youre a moron. Stay home then, same for the other reviewer who NEVER gives a fair review to any spot on Unilocal,.Go there and enjoy it. Its cheap, its good and its close by.

I’m rating this place a 3.5 but rounded down to 3. Probably because out of ALL their flavors I only tasted three that I would order again. I think your experience will depend on the gelato flavors you try. But there’s always something to order and enjoy… As long as you find it. Some flavors are so-so, others are amazing as if you’re eating the actual food(as opposed to a flavored syrup), other flavors you can skip altogether. There are a gazillion flavors and you can sample as many as you want. Flavors I would order again and again(so far): Gianduia(rich dark chocolate w ribbons of hazelnut) Cappucino Banana Straciatella Homemade Chocolate chip cookie — big cookie with big chunks of chocolate. Get it heated and served with your ice cream. Waffles — outside is crispy, inside is soft/chewy. Can’t go wrong with ice cream over this. Homemade brownie — more like a cake. I missed the dense texture I’m familiar with. It’s bearable if you have it with your spoonful of gelato. Skip it if it’s your only dessert choice. Pretty good flavors: Vanilla caramel Nutella Black coffee is decent. Service is friendly. No real complaints. The place is casual(I wouldn’t call it cozy) and can accommodate big groups. Only tried the desserts, not the diner-like food.
