It’s been over a year since they’ve closed and I’m still in shock. It’s just one of them nights where I wallow in my withdrawals… RIP Jurison’s Inn. I will forever miss your Fried Noodles, Beef Stew, and Beef Curry bowls! *cries* My family member used to work at the Jurison’s in Kapolei which is now called Hapa Grill after the niece took over. I was told they should have the same Fried Noodles as the Waipahu location. Not to mention that they have an awesome Fried Ice Cream over there *hint *hint What’s left of my favorite Fried Noodle joints: Sato’s Okazuya in Waipahu is the only other place that I love. They’re consistent in terms of taste. Parking: Free Lot

Love this place! Albeit it has been closed for a while now. I’m giving it 5stars for their delicious salmon, chicken bbq, teriyaki beef and mouthwatering Mochiko Chicken! I wish this place hasn’t closed. Please re-open. some place nearby.

Not sure why I’m writing a review on this place since as of yesterday at 7PM(12-31-2013), it’s closed. This place has been there since the beginning of Waikele(if memory serves me correct) and it just seems so sad that they lost their lease. There’s not a whole lot to eat at Waikele; thats not their thing. They’re a shopping center with a few food places there to keep you there. Maria and I went there yesterday, on their last day, to pay our respects in a way. And to get their fried noodles for the last time. I remember the meat jun fondly and not much else. Sad that they ran out of most of the usual favorites(ahi! furikake chicken!) before we could order. I ordered the mochiko chicken and though it was not made the usual way, it was still good. It was chicken with a mochicko sauce with it; I’m usually familiar with a breaded chicken of some sort san sauce. The wait was a bit long at 20 minutes but we headed to Party City to kill time. This place had mean furikake chicken and most of all, Orange Bang. Yum. Guess I’ll have to go to Zippys now to get my Orange Bang fill. Thanks for the memories Jurison’s. I hope the next tenant that comes after you can fill your big shoes.

Jurison’s, I can’t believe you’re leaving me. :( First Leeward Drive Inn(let’s face it, after the fire, it’s not been the same), then HK’s … and now YOU? Why must this world hate good fried noodles? Just one week away until Jurison’s closes up shop(lease expired). ONLY seven days until the fried noodle goodness is no more. In the past week, I’ve ordered two individual orders of the noodles and ordered a pan to-go for a Christmas party. Still contemplating ordering it for NYE, too, while we’re at it. If you’ve ordered anything else and been dissatisfied with your order, that’s on you for not ordering the fried noodles. BUT! You have 7 days to redeem yourself. Carb up. RIP, good fried noodles and good friend. Jurison’s, you will be missed. :( (closed for business 12/31/2013 @ 7pm — get your fried noodle fix!!)

Like your everyday hole-in-the-wall L&L. They lack many things on the menu and tell you to look at the handwritten menu blackboard on the wall. Maybe because they are too cheap to update the main menu, which has practically half of it whiten out. It also seems that everything is pre-cooked so who knows how long something has been sitting out. They were out of their ahi katsu and it wasn’t even lunch yet. They had plenty of ahi available so that surely says something. Also, the service.. they talk to you as if you don’t know what you’re talking about and that you should sheep in line and order the next garbage thing on the menu.

Five stars. Support the blue! I really enjoy eating at Jurison’s. The food is fresh and tasty. I love their famous ahi katsu the most. Really ono and unique. A good seating area and parking is right in front. So come on down and enjoy Jurison’s.

Quite surprised as usually the service here is good. Unfortunately the cashiers got our order wrong… 8 orders and 5 were with wrong items in it. We opted not to tell them because if the thought that they may do something to our food. I later asked if they had chopsticks and they replied«we ran out.» Not to mention that they also ran out of Pepsi. As several other customers went to order different items that were on the menu the same words«we ran out» chimed in. ANDTHEITEMSWEREALLDIFFERENT! so in essence my request for PEPSIANDCHOPSTICKSTHATTHEY«RANOUT» of was just the start! Seriously 5 different groups had DIFFERENTFOODREQUESTS that THEYALLRANOUTOF… Someone is slacking in the ordering. One customer asked«AREYOUGOINGOUTOFBUSINESS?»

Conveniently placed in the«food» area of waikele premium outlets, this place caters to the local pallet. Although the place has a variety of menu options, it was a bit one noted. The very first time I are here I ordered the furikake salmon(upon the staffs recommendation) and it was a huge disappointment. The salmon was obviously previously frozen and not properly defrosted before cooking. After that I was a bit hesitant on returning for a second try. But I had to get a quick dinner for my friend and I. Decided to go with the bento instead and it was big improvement from my previous visit. They have 4 bento options and all of them under $ 10. Pretty large portion for a bento and it was delicious. I had mochiko chicken with Teri beef. The meal came with 2 scoops of rice and a plate full of fried noodles. The chicken was sweeter than traditional mochiko chicken but nonetheless it was tasty. Teri beef was on point along with the fried noodles. On the down side, the staff and the place itself could use a pick me up. The floor is clearly in need of a deep cleaning and the staff needs to eat more of the food because their lack of knowledge of the menu is unacceptable.

I guess they are known for their ahi katsu. I came in for an early lunch at around 10:45am and already they were out of the ahi katsu! What?!? There was nobody there, but my family & i. Anyway, i had to order something else. –furikake salmon: i love salmon when it is soft & that’s exactly how it was! The sauce was light and it wasn’t overpowered with furikake. Highly recommend! –pancakes: plain & simple. I would come here again & hopefully they won’t run out of ahi katsu.

So after a last minute trip to the outlets for awesome shopping deals, Jon K. and I were starving but it was already 9pm(yes, we shut the stores down) and we were starving. Where to go, where to go. There was McDonalds(gross), KFC(over fast food), Chilis(wasn’t appealing at the time)…so we were left with Jurison’s Inn. It seemed like it would be the perfect quick fix for a late night dinner. Plus we were in the mood for plate lunch. We arrived just in time(they close at 9:30). I ordered the Furikake Chicken: which seemed like a pretty good deal at less than $ 7. I have to say, I’ve experienced better. The quantity was good, couldn’t complain about that. And they did have brown rice(+1 star). BUT the chicken didn’t have much flavor at all and it was kinda hard/overcooked/old. I had to really bite into it to get through the outer layer… it basically seemed like it was old and reheated(not saying that’s what they did, just saying that’s how it tasted). I understand we went at nearly closing time and kudos to the staff for not grumbling or giving stink eye(I probably would have) so I think I’d give them a second try if I happen to be in the area at a decent hour.

THEGOOD: Mochiko chicken, fried noodles, ahi katsu, saba, Teri chicken burger, loco moco, beef stew/curry, breakfast special. Their mochiko chicken is sooo good. The best I’ve had. I’m always looking for good mochiko chicken and I have to say however they make it, I hope it doesn’t change. The fried noodles are kinda addicting. It’s thick noodles that’s not oily but still has flavor. Their ahi katsu and Saba I think are the best fish dishes they offer. I tried their sautéed mahi and didn’t care much for it. The ahi katsu isn’t drenched in batter, so you get a thick ahi piece wrapped with nori and a little deep fired batter for some crunch. The Teri chicken burger is yummy also. It’s marinated and grilled so the flavor makes the chicken really juicy on the inside. Their loco moco would put you to sleep. It looks good, smells good and tastes good. The gravy makes it. The beef stew/curry is also good here. The meat isn’t tough, falls apart. You can use your fork to cut it. And the pieces are big and chunky. Last their breakfast special. They only serve it until noon. It has adobo(which is meat stewed in soy sauce, vinegar and spices), kimchee, and fried rice omelette. The adobo is so tender poking your fork you’d see how soft the meat is. It’s very flavorful and some pieces you’d get some fat on the meat, yummmmm! Now, THEBAD: They took off a few things off their menu. Like their laulau and stew plate. I was really sad because that was one of my faves. Also, they have their girls at the front who is clearly not on the same page. If you want to substitute anything some days you can, some days you can’t. They also look like they don’t want to be there. NOTALL of them, but there is a few. A little smile to know you’re approachable to take our order would be nice. But this is the kinda place where you don’t come for the service but for the food. Which clearly they have that down.

Furikake Salmon with brown rice and macaroni salad. The furikake and garlic sauce on top of the salmon was soooo salty. How do people eat that? Had to drink a lot of water. The macaroni salad was plain/no taste. Nothing special about the meal. It was $ 10 for that too. Bleeeehh

I was always a fan of their deluxe fried noodles without veggies, but when I visited this time things just weren’t as I remembered. I came in at about 1230, I know prime lunch hour. Especially for Waikele, a high tourist shopping area. My grandma wanted their bento with BBQ chicken and teri beef, and I wanted to try their teri beef kimchee burger, I also ordered a deluxe fried noodles without veggies for later. I stood in line, there were 2 customers in front of me and only one cashier. She was pretty much getting slammed with in-store and phone orders. Maybe they could add an extra cashier during busy hours because the food was coming out faster than she could help the customers in line. But she did do a great job of handling the situation she was in. Sad to say, service moved very slow. But I didn’t mind the wait, because I was so excited to eat. While the wait was long, we finally got our food. My grandma said her food was alright, she used to be a cook in her day, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. My burger was okay. There was a fair amount of both beef and kimchee. I really liked the mayonnaise inside too. However the bread was pretty much mush because it wasn’t toasted and I wish their kimchee was made with won bok cabbage instead of regular head cabbage, it woulda made the dish a whole lot better. For dinner, I heated up the fried noodles, it was still pretty good. However the teri beef had a strong ginger flavor, not a bad thing but not something I’d want as a standout flavor. Also while I was there I noticed they took off a few plates off their menu. Also they were out of their seasoned fries that I wanted with my burger, I was pretty bummed. I might be back, but just for their fried noodles.

This place has added a few things since the last time I was there… It’s a small Take-out Restaurant located by McDonalds in the Waikele Premium Outlets. Since this is considered to be another Tourist Destination, you may have a hard time parking in the area where the restaurant is. But, the food is Really Good! My faves are the KimChee Fried Rice & the Fried Noodles… Like I mentioned before, they have added more seating since the last time I was there… which was a loooooong time ago, lol! If Jurison’s is Busy, You can also try the other restaurants next to it. and a Baskin Robbins… I know there have been mixed reviews on this place, some like it… some don’t! I say just give it a try, if the first time you order something you didn’t like, you may like the other selections they have to offer. Prices are reasonable & the portions are somewhat generous, but it was good for me! =)

Ok, two things at this place that my bf and I love love love: 1) Bento with the egg, portuguese sausage, spam topped on fried noodles. YUM! I love that this is like a breakfast meal but on top of fried noodles. The egg has bits of kamaboko/fish cake inside and just compliments the fried noodles and other breakfast foods perfectly. This one normally comes with 2 scoop rice, but I just ask for all fried noodles lol(worth it!). Also comes with a small side of kimchi inside, which is a nice touch. And for $ 8? Not bad! I usually eat half and save the rest for later. 2) Furikake chicken! This is my bf’s fave, lots of flavor and you can’t find it at so many places. The portion is really good and about $ 9. My bf and I love coming here because the food is always consistently good. Even though the prices are a little bit more than other plate lunch spots, I think its totally worth it because the quality is just that much better.

Maybe I didn’t order the right thing? Why am I even questioning it? Of course I ordered the wrong thing because it was barely edible. I ordered up a butterfish plate from Jurison’s and when I popped the hood I was completely impressed by the big pieces of fish for just under $ 9. My mouth started salivating at the anticipation of digging into one of my favorite things to eat on planet Earth! But oh the disappointment which ensued after I started eating was nothing short of heartbreaking. The fish was undercooked on the inside, and for anyone who loves butterfish as much as I do, you know the texture and taste just feels off. Plus I was expecting some sort of flavoring on the outside, of which there was little. (Photo: ) On my knees I fell to the ground, looked up at the sky and screamed: «WHYGOD? WHY!!!» Okay so I didn’t do that but I did frown down at my plate and shook my head. How do you mess up butterfish?(Points to plate) That’s how. Next time I come back to Jurison’s, I think I’ll stick to the tried and true options of mochiko chicken and fried saimin. DEAN H was RIGHT!!! I got zinged and I don’t think my heart could bear eating badly cooked butterfish again.

Shopping = hunger! I’ve been coming here for their fried noodles which is one of their highlights. Somehow or another, I always get sucked into picking up lunch for my colleagues and we pick Jurison’s because of their bento selection. On my recent visit, we ordered Bento #2 which includes: teri beef, mochiko chicken, fried noodles(yum!), two scoops of rice, takuwan and kim chi. All of this for only $ 7.85! Yes! What a deal! I also ordered the Bento«Special»($ 7.85) with fried mahi, fried chicken, Spam, fried noodles, two scoops of rice, takuwan and kim chi for the same price. Was it good? Yes! Did it clog up my arteries? Yes! Was I full? Heck Yeah! It’s located in-between Party City and Genki Sushi in the Waikele Shopping Center and they accept ca$h and credit cards. Be sure to phone in you order to save some time. They also have a breakfast menu which I haven’t tried yet. With a casual seating, come here after you go shopping and fill up here!

Ordered take out for lunch today. I remember coming here years & years ago and deeming this place serving the best mochicko chicken. The chicken is still delicious like before. The furikake chicken is pretty good too. Another plus is their macaroni salads recipe changed, and for the better(or at least i think it did), because in the past I used to wonder why they served their food with such tasteless mac salad. If you are craving for a really good plate lunch around the waikele area, this is where you’ll find it and for $ 7.95 at that, you really can’t go wrong.

Yummy, I discovered a gem and it’s right across from the Waikele outlets. At first glance, I walked into this fusion of Japanese and local lunch plate place. I stare carefully and I see lamb shank and even lamb curry on the menu. Priced at $ 9.00 value, it came with a scoop of brown rice of my choice, tossed salad and sampler sizes of corn and bean sprouts. I had two pieces of shank in my dish. It was definitely fall off the bone tender and the stew had a nice thick consistency. I was floored and absolutely stunned a place like this, can serve up food at this caliber. It’s good stuff and I’m glad it was far from disappointing. Okay, maybe they can’t serve up fancy vegetables and larger portion like how The Fat Greek does their lamb shank, but this stuff is good here. I’m glad it was a total shocker, because the food was really delicious. I was also told their salmon kama is really fatty and really tasty too. Anything deep fried is good, right?

My friend had the brilliant, just amazingly brilliant, idea of having breakfast here this past weekend. I had the breakfast special #4: Fried Rice! This comes with teri beef and 2 eggs cooked to your choice/style. This was heaven! Tremendously good! Bottom Line: I’ll be back for breakfast!
