Came here to order a later dinner on June 7, 2016. This location was not busy by any standards. Ordered a chili Moco @ 10:16 pm. Got my order at 10:35pm. I opened it up and the chili is a stingy portion. It didn’t cover all the rice. I don’t understand, other locations gives a generic amount. It’s like Zippys gets really stingy lately. Like when order fried chicken, you get two napkins. I’m done.

The services sucks. Very slow. I ordered a zip pack and chicken plate does it rake 30 minutes to have my meal? Did need to catch my fish or defeather my chicken. Come on folks. You need better service. Why do i need to walk up to the counter and ask for my meal. OMG! Get it together.

Worst Zippy’s. Ordered a piece of apple pie and the server asked if we wanted it warned. We said yes but when It came out it was like mush and had shrunk about 50%. We returned it for an edible piece and said no need to warm up fearing we would get mush again. It was apparent that the piece of pie we received was probably several days old. The potatoes in the corn beef hash seemed stale and shriveled with age. Good service but terrible food.

Mother’s Day madness. The only recommendation I would have is that the customer don’t have to sign themselves in. There was a lot of confusion when we first walked in. Luckily we weren’t in a rush and we’re just here to enjoy our time. When we got sat we were helped out by Jhena. She was very friendly with a caring demeanor. She understood the wait for the food was long and was very apologetic for the wait. She was definitely the highlight of our visit and I appreciate her amazing customer service.

Worst Zippy’s Ever! I went here with my friend and my kids for lunch. We were greeted by the hostess and we were seated right away. It wasn’t busy because it was already pass 1pm. The waiter came to our table and gave us water and gave us time to figure out what to order. Everything was fine till we got our lunches. Right before I got my food, my glass of water was already less than half empty, the waiter told me he’ll come back to refill my cup. I swear when he finally remembered he refilled my cup 5 minutes before we were about to leave. Also, I asked for extra napkins because of course my kids are younger than 5. So of course you expect spills, messy face & hands and I told the waiter if I can get napkins. And of course my waiter forgets in 2 minutes, so I had to walk my ass to an other waitress to get myself my own napkins. Normally every waiter/waitress will ask if we would want to order deserts but before we could order out desserts he gave our checks. We felt so rushed!!! Never coming back to this Zippys location. I’m not too sure if he was having a bad day or just tired of working but you should always take pride of your work. If you expect a very good tip, then you should totally do a good job!

Standard Zippy’s fare. But their service sometimes is lacking. There have been at least a half a dozen times when we had to wait half an hour or more for our food. Once, we even walked out because no one had given us menus or water after we had been seated for 10 minutes. If you can I highly suggest going to another location if you need a chili or zip min fix.

UPDATE!!! If i could give this a 0 i would. We just came back from out trip and wanted zippys. We came in and there were about 4 poeple in line in front of us. This little older lady was the ONLY person actually working. She was taking orders at the register. 2 other employees were standing by the bakery just talking and talking while the phone is ringing. Really? Is it so hard to help out and answer the damn phone? Or help out this little old lady??? I work in a restaurant, i answer phones, run register and i make drinks and i still manager to help my waiter run food. Its not hard come to work and do your job it’s not hard. I am beyond irritated with this zippys. Management needs to do something about this because this is ridiculous. You either need to get a better manager at night or better workers who will be team players. THISNEEDSTOBEFIXED!

Only been to this location a few times, but each time the food was as good as always. Good service, decent parking and never too crowded unlike other locations.

Good First: Portugese Soup with Grilled Corn Bread. Yum. Pastries. Yum. The Bad: Spaghetti. Closest I’ve tasted is hospital food. or possibly prison. Tastes like it’s right out of a can. Dead carbs. Nothing healthy about it. Coffee…ok, but now no cream. Just packets like at a gasoline station. Maybe you get real cream if you sit in restaurant? I don’t know. Just seems a bit over-priced for very basic dead-fast food.

The service here was mediocre, the food is mediocre, Zippy’s is mediocre. Don’t order the burgers here, it can’t get any flatter.

It’s weird how I don’t live in Waipio but I’ve been to this Zippy’s more than the other ones on this side. Every time we come here, there is a bit of a wait but our food is always piping hot and the flavor is consistent. We probably always get the same thing: Korean fried chicken, mushroom burger, Zip pack, and a musubi for the little one. The last time I was there, however, there was some confusion. After my son spilled most of my drink(which I did clean, I would never just leave it…), I went to the front and asked for a refill. Most places, if you do get a refill, it’s usually under a dollar if anything. I gave the lady my cup, and she filled it ALLTHEWAY with ice added my soda(which in my head I didn’t mind at the time because I just needed a little more soda) she handed it back to me and rang me up. $ 1.75 she said. What the heck!!! For a freaking refill that you put ice up all the way? She already put the lid on that had the straw that I had drank from back on the cup. I couldn’t have given it back to her and said no thanks, plus I had already taken a sip. What the fudge dude?! She should have told me that it would have been the price of a new drink before giving it to me… And filling my frickin’ cup up to the brim with ice. Lame. That’s all I have to say about this place. My rating of this place used to be a 4, but now I give it a 2 for that lame customer service I received.

Yay for a convenient Zippys for those on the way home to Mililani! I like this location since it beats me having to drive into Mililani for the other location. I don’t know where I’d be without this place, always satisfying any local craving at 2 in the morning(my guilty pleasure when I’m on vacation). Just be careful because this location isn’t open 24 hours all the time. Honestly, the food is better made at many of the other Zippys, but this one wins on convenience so there’s that.

I love Zippy’s fried chicken, and I love the way this particular Zippy’s serve their chicken. It is rarely overcooked, like with most other Zippy’s at different locations. It’s juicy, and prepared fresh, I guess you can say I’ve had a lucky batch each time I ate the chicken here. The workers are so friendly, and there are lots of tables for those that prefer to order your own and sit. The parking lot is pretty small and limited.

They got my order wrong, again(order #0393b). Called to complain. Guy named Joshua got nervous and put his manager named Andrea on the phone. She apologized and hung up on me. She’s a sorry excuse for a «manager.» Never going back to the Waipio location again.

Let’s see, what can I say about Zippys? Hmmm it’s Zippys peeps! They are pretty consistent with their food. Always open, so if your looking for a late night meal especially after a night of partying then this is your place. Conveniently located everywhere, with ATMs in case you no mo money! Lol The one thing that doesn’t make it 5 stars is the fact that depending on when you order the chicken can be good and not good! No in between on that! Overall, a quick meal that usually will hit the spot!

What can I say… After a long day of work our next stop was Zippys. Got their awesome Chili and Chicken mixed plate with 2 scoops of rice and side Mac salad. I like to put a little bit of Tabasco on my Mac salad and Chili. To give it that spice to keep you scoping. Their open 24/7, if you aren’t dining in. Call in your order so it’s ready by the time you get there. Versus waiting in the long line. Oh and their grilled corn bread is ono as well. Enjoy!

I’m writing this update just to. .. well update it, the food and service is still very constantly the best out of the area locations, but recently the food quality seems to have gone up slightly. I am confident we will never leave this specific location in low spirits. The main reason for this update though is, to commend another member of the wait staff for her awesome service, her name is Sarah, and just like Aaron before her she’s always ready to have a conversation and make sure everyone is happy. She plays well off of our off kilter sense of humor and makes the experience that much better. This will be my last update for this location, they’ve sealed in their 5 star review.

We normally eat at Zippy’s Waiau but with the terrible rail-induced traffic headache on Kam, we have shifted our culinary adventures into Waipio/Waikele. Like any local, we love Zippy’s even when we don’t love them, if you know what I mean. There’s just something comforting about a Zippy’s chili rice or loco moco. Honestly though, this Zippy’s location is not as nice as the one in Waiau in pretty much all aspects. SERVICE: Not bad, not great, but adequate. The waitress was friendly and a little slow. The restaurant was not crowded on a Wed night so we figured it wouldn’t take as long as it did to get our food and bill. Some waitresses at Waiau are SUPERFRIENDLY though and make us feel welcome. ATMOSPHERE: Older and uglier. The layout looks like a cafeteria from the 1980’s. Definitely not relaxing and little privacy compared to other locations. It certainly needs a facelift. FOOD: Same as always. Good, a little pricey now, but I like to support local business and would rather pay more to eat at Zippy’s than go to MCDs or Denny’s. We’ll be eating here more so I’ll update my review as the sample size grows.
