Love this place! Good, filling food just like Momma’s. Owners/waitresses/cooks were very friendly and attentive and excellent at multi-tasking(see all the slashes). There was quite a few people at the time, but I didn’t feel rushed and they didn’t seem fazed by all that was going on. Big portions, good flavors, great service, lots of parking, no wait to sit, quick turn over, CASHONLY!

Great for kimchee fried rice omelette cravings! I’ve come here about three times now. The café is run by a sweet old Korean lady and one or two assistants. I come for the kimchee fried rice omelette, but all the food is great. :)

Owner run business. Hours are 6am to 2pm Sun-Sat. Cash only. The fried rice omelets are the draw to this place, but they also serve Korean food. Service is based on how busy they are. My favorite is the«famous» fried rice omelet which is $ 7.50. Owner serves a side of kim chee with any order.

After eating here a few more times I had to come back and write another review. You appreciate a good place to eat after having eaten at other not so good places. Although my favorite go to is the corned beef fried rice omelet, my last time here the other day I had the bbq chicken and garlic chicken plate. A lot of good tasty food that I had a hard time finishing. The owner rocks that grill all day long by herself and I’m amazed how fast she can get the food out. If this is going to be your first time here I have a few pointers. When you walk in and there’s an open table or space at the counter, just grab your menu and seat yourself. If you need more water and the waitress is busy, just get up and ask the owner /cook for the pitcher of water and fill your own glasses. When you’re finished eating go up to the counter and pay your bill. It’s as easy as that and you’ll leave full and satisfied. For those of you concerned about the ambience or neighborhood, go somewhere else cause you’ll be disappointed. Come here only for the good food at reasonable prices.

Found this little place on Unilocal so I decided to come check it out based on the reviews I’ve read and yes its kinda small. 5 — 6 booths and a counter that seats 4. I remember it was Pearl View Inn before. So anyway, I ordered the Loco moco with fried rice and side Kim chee. Over all it was pretty good although they could make the burger a little bigger but that’s just me.

I have been coming here(it used to be named Pearl View) for a number of years, mainly for breakfast. They make the best fried rice omelets! They have 6, 4 seat booths, and a counter that seats about 4 or 5. It’s an old place, very mom and pop. The menu is plastered on the wall and they have a ton of choices. You can mix your choices too. They have the standard folding menu too. The portions are of good proportion, and you get a dish of delicious Kim Chee. The ladies that run this place are really nice and very courteous. I came in for lunch with the wife and sat for about 3 minutes before she came with water, and she apologized for making us wait. Sorry, 3 minutes is no wait. I ordered a hamburger steak and bbq chicken mixed plate and the mrs got her usual yook gae jang. Delicious! During our meal, she refilled our water and Kim Chee too! When we finished and paid, she must have said thank you about a half dozen times! So nice!!! Hard to find genuine people like this nowadays. I really need to start trying all the different items on the menu, but they’re not open for dinner and close at 2 in the afternoon, so go early! My wife loves their Yook Gae Jang soup, and I really like the Chicken Jun.

A hole in the wall that you might overlook. Thank god for Unilocal because it was so good and I’m glad we found it. We got the cornbeef omelette and the kimchi ham omelette with rice. The cornbeef omelette was okay but the kimchi omelette was so good. I could eat it all day. They gave us a little plate of fresh kimchi with our meal, which was obviously delicious. It’s cash only, so remember to bring some cash but luckily not much since the prices are so good!

Tucked away in Westgate shopping center in Waipahu, this little hole in the wall café did not disappoint. I came in on a Saturday morning and it wasn’t that busy. It’s got about 4 to 5 booths that can probably seat 5 – 6 people per booth and some additional counter seating. It’s operated by this old asian lady who seems friendly when I called in my order. It looks pretty sanitary, but a little bit cluttered. I tried the Kim Chee Fried Rice and portions were pretty generous. I ate half for breakfast and the other half for lunch. Overall I would come back if I’m every in the neighborhood again.

Been going to this little restaurant for years and although it can get crowded, try to come in the early morning. Delicious breakfast and Korean dishes which are served with Kim Chee on the side. :). The Fried Rice and Denver Omelet are my favs.

Fried rice omelette and ham and cheese WITH egg sandwich. Winning! Located right next to the laundromat in Waipahu. Nearby is also pacific supermarket and Max’s. Owned by this sweet Korean lady. I’m sure their kimchee is homemade but it goes awesome with the two dishes mentioned above. Very awesome for breakfast. Not sure if its cash only because we only pay in cash when we’re here and they’re open til 2 only.

My little girl and I stopped in here for the first time for a quick breakfast. Such a tiny place with maybe 5 or six booths and a few stool seatings. The place was pretty full so I started thinking twice but decided to stay and wait it out anyway instead of drive to another place. Took a good 10 minutes or so for someone to take our order but it’s good that i’m a patient person. The staff seemed happy to be so busy and they were on their toes with trying to crank out all the orders but dang they do work fast. I figured the place must be good since the customers were willing to wait and they were being addressed as if they were regulars. So we ordered a short stack of pancakes and a mushroom omelette with fried rice. They even asked if I wanted kim chee. Absolutely! We got our food pretty fast and once we started eating I understood why people were willing to wait. YUMMO! The portions were big, the pancakes were moist and fluffy(with a huge glob of butter) and the house kim chee was ONPOINT! Their fried rice was awesome and the omelette was chock-full of mushrooms and veggies. All were served on mix-matched plates(like being at someone’s house) which I thought was adorbs. :) Needless to say we left stuffed and happy. The people here are so nice and welcoming. I’ll definitely come back again and again. That Kim Chee tho! BRINGYOURCASH! No cards accepted.

How can you not love this place? Hole in the wall… cozy…awesome fried rice omelet… and to die for homemade kimchee. If you’re in the area and is unsure of what to eat, just come here. Their food selection is not limited at all and their price is pretty reasonable. Cash only so don’t forget to stop by an atm.

TOTAL hole in the wall in Waipahu. Great place to kick it while getting tires done at Firestone, which is what I was doing. Ordered eggs, Portagee sausage, and kim chee fried rice, all of which were delicious in a very old school almost neighbor island diner kind of way. They let me hang out for a while, and a super nice lady offered me a refill on my coffee even though I clearly had brought in my own in a travel mug. Portions were very generous; I could not finish everything. After leaving a more than 20% tip that same lady brought back my money insisting I left too much — how nice is that? Was a great experience and I insisted they deserved it. Cash only.

Cash only! Cheap eats, almost everything is under $ 10. Lots of parking available. It’s tiny inside with limited seating arrangements. I wouldn’t say this is an appealing place to dine as it seems quite dirty that you don’t want to touch the table. Service: I think you seat yourself as you are not greeted or acknowledged on your way in. I suggest grabbing your own menu rather than waiting for one. There are only two women cooking, serving, and taking orders. Our food came out in a decent amount of time being that one of the ladies was taking the lead spatula. Your check doesn’t come to you. Go up and let them know your ready to pay. Don’t expect great service. Food: Ordered the French toast, fried rice omelette, hotcakes, loco moco, chicken fried rice omelette, side order link sausage, and bacon. She also gave us some kimchee. The kimchee was really good and not too spicy. French toast was bomb! Chicken fried rice omelette was pretty good as well as the regular fried rice. They both were pretty large portions & catches you with the heavy taste of luncheon meat. I haven’t tried the hotcakes(i should have). The side meats tastes like your usuals. The loco moco wasn’t that great. Overall, nothing too exciting about the food. I may be back to try other food items on their wide variety menu.

For my 400th review, this little hole in the wall deserves it. Only open for breakfast and lunch, Waipahu Café is tucked in a tiny unassuming strip mall off Farrington Hwy which houses Jolibee, a laundromat and a Thai place. This place is famous for its kim chee fried rice omelette. It’s a small little diner with only a few tables. You seat yourself and it is run by two nice little cute Korean ladies. Other options are all kinds of breakfast dishes: pancakes, bacon, eggs done your way, etc. to local lunch items such as chicken katsu, kal bi, hamburger steak, etc. I ordered the kim chee fried rice omelette and damn was it tasty! Tons of fried rice and the omelette was huge! They also give you a side of kim chee made of regular cabbage. It was oh so tasty and I left with bad breath, but I didn’t care. Most dishes on the menu are under $ 10.00. There’s plenty of parking if you go in the morning. Service was slow but friendly but there are only two ladies working. The place has an old school vibe so it’s better to go when you aren’t in a rush anyway.

Cruising around after an early appointment, looking for some place for breakfast prior to hitting Pearlridge for my last minute shop stops, I hit the Unilocal search and this little café popped up. Tiny! Think Ray’s Café size. Six four person booths and a little counter bar for maybe three or four. Two little ladies cooking, taking orders, serving and cashiering. Busy little place. A lot of take out going on too. Every booth was filled by the time we got our food which was actually pretty fast. Quite a menu for breakfast and lunch, eggs and breakfast meats, fried rice and noodles, omelets, pancakes, soups, burgers, sandwiches, plate lunches and a number of Korean items. HB was his usual Loco Moco deemed three stars and under seven dollars. $ 1 for a nice mug of decent coffee with refills better and than most breakfast places. I selected the Hot Koo Soo which I truly enjoyed. The server gave me a small dish of hot sauce to add and it gave a kick to the soup. I also enjoyed the Kimchee served on the side. Not hot but very flavorful. One of their specials must be the Kimchee fried rice omelet because someone at nearly every table ordered it. The café is only open 6:00AM to 2:00PM and is cash only. Definately a hole in the wall, next to a laundry and it looks like people are hanging around but they a just waiting for their clothes to dry. Parking is abundant and they are cash only. Always good to find a reasonable place with good food for breakfast. Will be back soon as they are open everyday.

Let me just start by saying that this place is tucked behind the 7 – 11 next to a laundry mat, not exactly«in» the Waipahu shopping plaza with Saver’s, it’s more to the«left» of it. Drove around the entire shopping plaza very slowly before I finally found it. It looks a little«ghetto» from the outside, with questionable characters hanging outside the laundromat next door, and is kinda old, and dingy on the inside, but don’t let that deter you from eating here. The breakfast here is nothing less than amaaaaaaaaazing! As soon as I entered and sat myself down, the Korean mama-san brought me a glass of iced water and a menu, and asked if I was dining alone. I told her I was waiting for a friend. She smiled and said okay. Within a few minutes she came by with a pot of coffee and offered me some, which I declined. So sweet I tell you!(I’m not a big coffee person unless it’s filled with tons of cream and sugar, so what’s the sense). While I waited for my friend who was running behind cause they too were having a difficult time locating this place, I thoroughly enjoyed the eclectic mix of people coming in and out of here. People ranging from families, couples, to construction workers, to people that work retail in the area that were coming in to grab takeout. I was really amazed at how well the mama-san was handling her customers, and food orders! From what I could tell, she was a one man band until lunch time! She was serving, bussing, cashiering, answering the phone for take out orders AND cooking!!! She didn’t look in the least bit stressed out! Damn! I would be! I’d be a nut job!(Well I am a nut job… but just check me into Kahi Mohala at that point)! Watching her handle her business was very impressive to say the least. She finally got some relief around 11… when another cute old mama-san reported for duty, and took customers orders, and bussed from then on. When my friend finally arrived, mama-san was watching, and came over right away. Maybe she felt sorry for me waiting for my friend for so long. We both ordered the kimchee fried rice omelette, and we split an order of French toast! I just couldn’t resist! So glad we splurged! It was worth every calorie! The omelette was huge and the Kim chee was just perfect, not too hot so you couldn’t taste anything else, and the fried rice was delish! We could have shared! I know for next time, that way we can try other stuff too! The French toast was equally delicious. It was pretty straightforward, no frills… but the taste was just amazing! True, old school diner flavor… I cannot replicate the flavor of the egg mixture on the French toast. I can’t wait to go back for lunch and try other things on the menu. With such great food, COMPLETELY reasonable prices, and really awesome, friendly, speedy service, I’m sure this little hole in the wall will be here for the long haul.
