Lemon cake and the gluten free banana bread are amazing! So flavorful. The place is adorable and the service is excellent. Definitely recommend.

This lovely bakery and café is a wonderful delight in downtown Ventura. They offer a brown bag lunch on Wednesdays and Thursdays. You get a choice of sandwiches (I ordered the grilled cheese), a side salad, drink, and cookie. Everything was excellent. The chocolate chip and the gluten-​free chocolate meringue cookies are the best!

AMAZING!!! I live in Northern California, but came into town to celebrate my twins’ first birthday with friends and family. Obviously, planning a destination party is difficult, but Nancy made it so easy! She was extremely helpful, friendly, and definitely went above and beyond. I ordered cupcakes (3 types) and chocolate chip cookies, and everything was amazing! Thank you, Nancy!

This place is a hidden gem and you should stop what youre doing and go here right now.
This is what you do. You go in there and let them warm up two cookies and throw a scoop of ice cream in between them. Then you will make a mess all over the place as you don’t breathe but rather inhale this icecream sandwich.
You then pay your respects to the ice cream (and cookie) gods for bringing you to this heavenly like place.
In reality the girls here were very helpful, the cookies were very fresh and it tasted like the ice cream was made seconds before I walked it. I went back to this place twice in one week because I have eating problems and no self control.

UNBELIEVABLE!!! Go, and go now. Baked goods are Devine. My favorite is the lavender lemoncello, also the homemade ice cream is unreal. I’ve gotta try their sandwiches too.

This little gem off of Main Street has heavenly treats. I have had the scones which are so good slightly heated. I would totally recommended stopping by for a delicious treat as you shop Main Street. The owner and the girl serving the treats are both so friendly too.

This is like at your secret Mediterranean get away. The ambience is casual and comfy. There is a sense of kinship with people at the other tables. The food is wholesome and good. If you’re going to break your diet this is where the splurge on your calories. If you want a healthy sandwich or quiche or gluten-​free goodies, this is where to get it.

Such a cute, quiet café. We ate a delicious blueberry scone, fresh from the oven. Her drip coffee isn’t bad either. Nice patio tables in partial sun.

The polenta frittata is incredible and chewy chocolate cookie is crazy delicious — and both are gluten free! Great tea selection. I love this place. Beautiful courtyard location.

Nancy did our cake for our wedding last month, she did a spectacular job and her flavors are out of this world. Our guests are still raving about the two flavors we chose, a lavender cardamon for the bridal cake and Nancy’s guinness chocolate for the groom’s cake. Her complex flavors are unique and not your run of the mill wedding cake flavors.
Nancy is friendly and asks questions, she really cares about her work and making her customers feel happy. :)

Very Cozy location! Great Coffee and Bottled Cold Brew! They only have one place to sit outside but it fits the nature of their business. I have yet to try their pastries.

My friend’s dad turned 65 last week and since we were throwing him a birthday bash, we needed a giveaway for the guests attending the party. I suggested we do something that everyone can enjoy.
Enter Nancy.
Marc (the birthday boy) happens to love cookies, particularly chocolate chip. We like to support local businesses so I put together a list of 5 places to visit around Ventura County. This was the last place I found.
Let me tell you why we chose Sunflowers on the Square.
First off, when I called, Nancy was the first person who actually asked questions. No one else did. They wanted me to come in and place the order. Nancy asked specific questions. Questions that made me go hmmmm… I didn’t think of that. I came in and she let me taste some cookies and she gave me a box full of an assortment of flavors. I walked out knowing I would be placing an order with her.
She’s very professional. We corresponded via phone and emails, and she was always prompt with her responses. And always available which was nice. I never had to wait long for a response.
The staff are great. They were very pleasant when I came in to pick up the order.
I ended up getting 14 dozens of chocolate chip cookies. They are hands down THE best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever had.
I wish I took pictures of them at the party. The guests loved them just as I thought they would. We did leave a card in each box so I hope the folks that live locally make it a point to come in.

Stumbled across this place on a Sunday with some girlfriends, and was amazed by this little gem. We all got iced tea and cookies, which were all homemade and delicious. The patio to eat on was adorable and incredibly pleasant. I can’t wait to come here again.

Amazing little hidden gem. Everything is DELICIOUS!!! I would come back here if I was in Ventura again. So good. And the slices are so generous with the cakes. Homemade with love. Super fresh and small batch. You will not be disappointed.

Only opened Friday, Saturday and Sundays? That’s what it says on the door but Unilocal said they were opened. I came at 11am on Friday and it was closed. :(

Whenever I’m downtown, I try to visit this perfect little bakeshop with the most orgasmic treats. Seriously, you should be at least sitting down when you eat a warm cinnamon roll or the rum cake or… everything I’ve ever tried here is the best. I always love to order a few things to take home. So good. Really a gem.

I’m a so called Cookie Monster and these satisfy my monstrous taste buds! Never had anything like these cookies. I come all the way from Pomona and it worth the trip must go to bakery and city (Ventura)

We took the Amtrak from Pasadena for a day in Ventura and saw this diamond hiding in a small court off of Main St. We were famished, caffeine deprived, and looking for something small, quiet, and quaint. This place has all that in spades, with delicious breakfast to boot. I ordered the fresh made quiesch and we both tried a Gouda artichoke baked pastry, with, of course, two cups of coffee.
Highly recommended!
