Delicious food! The sashimi was so tender and perfect and the crispy salmon skin salad I could eat every day! I’ll dream of it tonight! Service was wonderful too. Thank you!

Had chirashi for lunch today. Like the fact they serve in two bowls. Rice (sushi) with dried seaweed sprinkle and fish egg on one bowl. Sashimi slices of tuna, ebi (shrimp), albacore, salmon, egg (cooked) and few other fish. Tasty and filling. Was a good value. Wife enjoyed unagi donburi and son had sesame chicken. There was a lunch crush at noon but 3 chef handled the load smoothly and no long wait for the food. Good enjoyable family lunch!

Tosh is the best sushi chef ever. I eat here at least once a week. It looks like a hole in the wall, but it has the best sushi in Ventura. They sashimi platter is always super fresh and Toshi gives you heaping portions of the good stuff. It’s also reasonably priced. Just one problem — it’s small — so don’t make the place all packed — I need to get a seat!

I love this small traditional sushi place and it’s a first pic for my 9 year daughter! The staff works hard! Owner and sushi chef Toshi is always amazing and has the bat knife skills! Nothing cookie cutter here! Be prepared to enjoy your dinner and if your in a rush this isn’t your place.

Koba Sushi is still my favorite sushi place in Ventura. The family that runs it are so friendly, and the sushi is excellent. Sadly, they have made some changes to the menu… no more tempura! But the «neighborhood sushi shop» feel is still there and the excellent food, too!

Great. Hole in the wall place that my friends were afraid to go in the first time we went. Ordered beers and a bunch of food and I don’t think we even finished the beers the food was so good. I know, sounds crazy huh?

Sushi was definitely good… had the Hawaii roll and scallop roll. A bit big for being bite sized… but definitely good! Awesome green tea!

Every single time I go to a sushi place I equate it to that particular meal being the last meal I’ll ever eat, and instead of savoring every last bite, rushing through it only to hear the dreaded DEAD WOMAN WALKING before being hauled off to the electric chair, lethal injection, firing squad, gallows, guillotine, burned at the stake… you get my point. Tonight I made a firm pact with myself not to do that. I considered it a win that I demonstrated serious restraint in being able to taste what was served me-​but not so much restraint to pause long enough and get pictures of my delicious sashimi and spider roll.
My friend, a true Barney Stinson about good sushi, as the actual Barney Stinson was about women, has bragged about this little place for awhile. Ironically, the bragging about the quality always happened en route to other places, and now that Koba was our actual destination, I really feel some serious retribution is in order.
Deliciousness, quality, and reasonable prices have not only made me a fan but a repeat (often) patron.

Try their baked uni dish, it is to die for! It is different from my other uni dishes I have tried, but undeniably delicious and one of my tops.
My only tip is to arrive at the establishment relatively early – my boyfriend and I walked in when it had just opened 10 minutes before, and it was immediately packed. It’s a small space, so you would have to wait awhile to be seated if you didn’t get there early.

The chef prepares some of the tastiest nigri in the entire county. The way he packs the rice and the degree to which he slices the fish is LOVELY. The flavors just melt on your mouth. Definitely come here to try sushi from a master chef.

Finally found a sushi bar since moving to Ventura that I am definitely excited to come back to!
Place is small and was pretty busy for a Thursday night.
Able to grab the last two seats at the bar.
The service is a little slow which didn’t bother me so much because they were helping everyone and juggling it all.
We were greeted as soon as we stepped in the door.
The chef was rather quiet but was amazing.
Everything we ordered was super fresh and price was reasonable especially for the quality and a couple of large Sapparos on the bill.
Will definitely come back.

This place is great. I love the atmosphere, and the food is quality. The sushi is tasty, and it is refreshing and their portions are filling. The music is also really good! It’s relaxing and a fun place to spontaneously go to with friends or family because it’s relatively cheap. Thumbs way up! :)

This place is pretty good, it seems very fresh, which, I am not used to when trying to find cheap sushi! Only thing is the pieces are pretty large! its quite a mess if you don’t want to cram the whole thing in your mouth.
