This place is no really that good. The salad greens had been frozen at one point as they had that frozen salad consistency. The nachos also were not that good. Service was really slow in bar area. I will try again my next trip around as it could have been a off night.

Reminds me a lot of the Texas road house in California. You can throw your peanut shells on the ground, though I don’t because I feel weird doing it haha, but there’s a bucket too to throw them Into. The dinner rolls are awesome. I rate this a 4 star only because the last time I was here my waitress didn’t bring me my to-go order after I already dined and paid.

This is a peanuts-on-the-floor, big-eaters-challenge, not-for-vegans kind of restaurant. The bright yellow sign outside almost promises a rootin’ tootin’ party inside, but you’ll open the front doors to find a very mellow, subdued dinner barn which is nearly yawn-inducing. On a cold night, ask to be seated near the fire place. It’s super cozy and warm! The menu is meat and sides; simple. No fuss. Steak, chicken and ribs… I think I saw a tiny corner of the page with seafood options, but you wouldn’t be here unless you wanted something that used to cluck, oink, or moo. Don’t be THAT person. After placing your order, you are presented with delicious, airy, warm, soft honey rolls that melt in your mouth. A Billygan’s visit is worth the rolls alone! The real grub: The rib eye was cooked perfectly(I asked for medium rare and received a warm, red, beautifully bloody center) and the mashed potatoes were pillows of creamy, rich goodness. Broccoli tasted like it was out of a bag, but it was still fresh and cooked to a soft, tender state(the way I like it). I was too full for dessert, but it appears they have brownie cheesecake and strawberry cheesecake«shooters» as well as something called a «messy sundae.» The sundae was beyond tempting, but I need to be able to buckle my seatbelt for the rest of my ride home. Service was excellent; attentive and friendly. Everyone smiled and acknowledged me who was within 10 feet of me and my glass was never empty. Overall(out of 5 stars): — Service = 5 — Ambience = 2.5 — Food = 3.5 It’s worth a stop if you’re channeling your inner cave man(Me want meat). I ate the entire 10oz rib eye. Oogabooga.

Ahh… Vancouver — land of nothingness. My friend who used to live in Salmon Creek took me here for dinner once and it tasted like Sizzler. Nothing special and not very good quality meat. Since I now live in the area, I will occasionally drop in for food and drinks(happy hour) after work. The bartenders will make a mean drink as long as you keep pushing for what you want. By the second or sometimes third, it’ll be spot on. The food isn’t bad. The hamburger is pretty good considering it’s quite a small patty but it manages to be juicy and even taste like it was cooked over flame. Probably not but it can pass by my little exposure to barbecue as an adult taste buds. The chicken tenders is a tiny plate but they are quite good — they seem freshly prepared and are always a great go to. The menu is varied so there is something for everyone and the prices are moderate. I usually sit at the bar so the staff fall into the hands-off variety which I find a little strange having worked in bars with chatty bartenders but leans towards my style anyways. I prefer sitting and eating and drinking with my book unless I happen to sit next to someone who feels chatty and then I give that a go. It seems like a place with a lot of regulars; I’m just not one. I don’t get the peanut shells on the floor but if that is your thing, have fun with that. The place is always clean and well kept.

My hubby and I took our 19 month old here for dinner last week. It was pretty cozy sitting next to the fire and eating peanuts & throwing the shells on the floor. It was cold and down pouring outside which made it seem even cozier inside. We loved the sweet bread rolls & soft whipped butter!!! Incredible! My hubby ordered the mushroom Swiss burger which was really good! I ordered the half salad and soup entrée. I was not a fan of the chicken tortilla soup — the veggies were way too chunky & I couldn’t taste chicken & the broth was really thin & lacked flavor. The salad was nothing special — your average restaurant salad mix with lackluster veggies. Note to self next time I will stick with ordering a burger. Great place for families.

I’m reviewing Billygans not as a 5 star restaurant but for what it is: a bar restaurant with tvs for sports and snack type food. A roadhouse! Loved it! We went last night to watch our Eagles play the Giants on Monday Night Football. We sat at the bar and Mikhayla was our waitress. She was excellent! We ordered drinks and they arrived quickly. She let us take our time with the menu as we were there to watch the game. They had bowls of peanuts and you could just drop the shells in the floor. Great! We ordered and I got the chicken tortilla soup along with the chicken Caesar wrap. Both excellent! My guy had the taco salad and he loved it. This is definitely a locals joint and the locals are decent people and very friendly. All in all a great experience and I would definitely recommend it! The fact that the Eagles beat the Giants was icing on the cake. Kudos to Billygans!

Not impressed at all! I wasn’t the last 2 times we came here either but that was like 2 years ago, we thought we’d give them another try and I wished we wouldn’t have :(it’s not the service that’s bad. it’s the food. they deserve no stars, but since I have to rate, they get only 1…

Is there a way to give zero stars? Our family had, in the past, been to this place several times but it had been a couple of years from this visit. I simply couldn’t believe how a decent family restaurant could have sunk so low. The service was cursory — had to ask for water and ice tea refills twice before a second server happened by and helped us. But the worst was the stringy and fatty steak that was half gristle. I had to walk to the reception desk to ask that the server get me a different steak. The second was worse than the first! Never again.

Peggy was nice and considerate of me and my husbands special orders, the food was exactly as ordered. That is harder then you think to get in a restaurant, thank you to the cooks in the kitchen and Peggy. We will return, the portions are plentiful so make sure you are hungry when you eat here.

My kids love this place just because they get to throw peanuts on the floor! That’s just fun! The food is pretty good, but the rolls are delicious! The children’s meals are a good price and is a good amount of food. A good choice as there are not too many restaurants in Salmon Creek.

Nothing special. The place is interesting when you go in, but the service is mediocre at best, and the food is over priced for the quality you get.

This was the very first restaurant I ate at in the ‘Couv’. I have been back numerous times despite it’s location being clear the heck over the other side of town :) You’ll see comments about the peanut shells on the floor. Thought that was a little weird the first time, still do, but hey, it’s unique. This is a «roadhouse» and it looks the part well. Food is good, decent servings and tasty. This is a bar and grill atmosphere so a quiet romantic evening is not likely to start here. Great place put it on the bucket list.

Meal here was Meh. Had the BBQ chicken with the deluxe salad and mashed potatoes as the 2 sides. Deluxe salad was basically lettuce, cheese and bacon? BBQ chicken consisted of 2 small, dry chicken breasts grilled then covered in an overly sweet BBQ sauce. Mashed potatoes were OK. On a good note the service was fast and friendly.

DB and I finally tried Billygan’s after always seeing the sign off I5. It was OK, I gave them 3 stars and DB gives 2, I’ll go back again but he won’t. The salad’s tasted pre-made and mine had a few ice chunks in the lettuce like they were in a super cold fridge and iced up a little, as I ate it, the ice was melting and made the salad really watery… it wasn’t good. Salads came with dressing, cheese and bacon bits, no croutons or onions. I had the Chicken Fried Steak w/Mashed Potatoes and gravy. The Fried Steak was good, good texture, really hot and the outside was still crunchy even though it had gravy on top. Oddly the Mashed Potatoes were room temp though. They weren’t cold but they weren’t really warm either so that was a big bummer. DB ordered a Steak with a Loaded Baked Potato and salad. He liked his salad and Baked Potato but said the Steak had quite a bit of «fatty parts» that he had to cut around. Yes, the 2 free rolls and Honey Butter were fantastic and yes you get to throw your peanut shells on the floor. Fun I guess it you’re 10 but I was wearing sandals and the discarded shell pieces kept getting in between my sandal and foot. Pokey! I am a beer drinker and I wasn’t impressed with their draft selection, I ordered a Long Hammer IPA, not my favorite. DB ordered a Margarita which was a little weak I thought. I’ll go back another time to try them out, hopefully I can convince him, they deserve a second chance to wow us! :)

Very pleased with the staff, the courteousness was great, however it took 15 minutes after we had ordered drinks to have someone finally take our order! I ordered a steak dinner with side of ribs. 5 stars on the steak, ribs were disgusting, dry and hard! Other then that the friendliness was fantastic. The steak was amazing, the rolls and honey butter are the greatest. I’ll come again but only for steak

I was here within the last week. The server was very nice and did a good job. I like that they provide peanuts and didn’t notice whether they seemed stale. The place felt a bit dark because of the black ceiling, but there was enough light to read the menu. The tables are upholstered in some kind of plastic/leather fabric. It’s weird to set your drink on a padded table. There was a dirty napkin and fork under our table. The water pitchers sit out uncovered on the backs of the booths. We got a complimentary basket of rolls and honey butter after ordering. The rolls were soft and hot, and the butter was very spreadable. However, they don’t provide bread plates so we all juggled the super hot rolls while trying to spread butter on them and then set our buttery knives on our napkins. I hear in France you don’t get a bread plate and are expected to put your bread on the table. This would be fine, but cleanliness didn’t feel like a high priority and again, the tables are upholstered. I had the pulled pork sandwich. The bun was so soggy I had to eat with a knife and fork, although it did look like they toasted it. The barbecue sauce and coleslaw came on the side along with a pickle spear and pile of fries. It all came on such a small plate, I didn’t have any room to put ketchup(Heinz squeeze bottle) to dip my fries. The food tasted fine, nothing special. Overall, not horrible, but I don’t look forward to eating here again. I find it about equivalent to Applebee’s,

I’ve been here twice as I figure that’s the minimum amount of visits to do a proper review. I love this place! The food is amazing, there’s sports on TVs everywhere and its a very welcoming and relaxing place to visit. My first visit I had the Halibut Fish & Chips and I have to say they were at least equal to the same I get on the coast fresh from restaurants there! Having lived on the Oregon Coast for over a decade this says something about the quality at Billygan’s. Upon my second visit just the other night I opted to expand my experiences here. I ordered the Bacon Bleu cheese burger with the sweet potato fries upgrade and was completely blown away once again! I am a burger fanatic and as such I have had well over a dozen bleu cheese burgers in just the last years alone — this was far and beyond the single best one I’ve ever had! The next time I’m up from PSU and able to stop I know exactly what I plan on getting.

It’s Sunday Funday at Billygan’s Roadhouse thanks to all day Happy Hour. Start early and continue until you pass out in a pile of peanuts. If drinking a brew(or five) while gobbling sub-par pub grub is your way to spend the sunniest day of the week then you probably already know about Billygan’s Roadhouse. Happy Hour Deals: * $ 3.5016oz Domestic Draft Beers * $ 3.5016oz Micro Draft Beers * $ 4.00 Well Drinks * $ 5.50 House Wine * $ 2.00 off All Bar Appetizers These HH discounts are only in the bar. It’ll be busy and covered in peanut shells. Stake a claim to a spot and start ordering. Other days of the week offer double the fun with two happy hours: Monday — Saturday 3:00 — 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. to close. I started with a pint of sweet Widmer Hefeweizen($ 3.50) before moving on to a 32 oz Ninkasi Tricerahops Draft Double IPA($ 9.00). Either way, it’s beer and that’s why you’re here. If you like hops, I totally recommend the Ninkasi(4 stars). For grubbing, I tackled a pile of bar food to take advantage of the happy hour discount. * Loaded Skins($ 6.99/$ 4.99 for HH) had four large cuts of Potato stacked with Cheddar Cheese, Jack Cheese, Bacon Bits, Sour Cream, and Chives(3 stars). * A Hamburger with Fries($ 6.99/$ 4.99) was a pretty unremarkable ¼ lb. Beef Patty with 1000 Island Sauce, Pickles, Lettuce, Tomato, and Onion(2 stars). * Getting a Caesar Salad($ 4.99/$ 2.99) at a bar seems like a silly gesture and it was … despite only being $ 3(2 stars). * Buffalo Chicken Strips($ 5.99/$ 3.99) were supposed to be hot and spicy, but were more warm and average … an overbreaded safe choice(3 stars). Billygan’s Roadhouse is somewhere between your local dive trucker bar and chain family-friendly restaurant … specifically where the I-5 meets the 205 on historic Hwy 99. It is a classic a-ok 3-star option … especially for Sunday Funday.

Billygan’s is not horrible, but its not very good either. I honestly don’t know which company came first, but Billygan’s to me is a Texas Roadhouse ripoff and fail. Texas Roadhouse has it all too: the peanuts on the ground, the fresh baked rolls, steaks, ribs, salmon, and bar… only they do it 100 times better. Billygan’s rolls are too yeasty in flavor and have no substance so they squish flat when trying to butter them. Billygan’s also doesn’t offer whipped cinnamon honey butter with their rolls. The food at Billygan’s is more fitting for an old dive bar and not the family restaurant that it tries or hopes to be. So what to do since there isn’t a Texas Roadhouse in this area? Hope that one will come eventually. In the meantime, keep going to Billygan’s if you don’t know any better and you might like it.
