We are so happy we called Big Al’s Specialty Movers! They were on time, quick, very courteous and professional! They navigated stairs and corners and still managed to keep our floors clean and walls untouched! We highly recommend calling them and will definitely keep their contact information on file for all of our moving needs!

These guys are awesome. The crew that moved my office was a 3 man team. They were prompt, careful, friendly and professional. I would recommend these guys to anyone!

Really great company! Big Al is a very fine person and is very good at what he does. They have moved our piano 4 or 5 times perfectly every time. A few months ago we chose to have them move our whole household — good idea! They moved each piece of solid wood piece, antique and ordinary furniture alike, every bit as carefully as the grand piano. Each move we’ve enjoyed a different crew of nice, kind, helpful and careful hands — Perfection! They are a quality moving company with Heart. We will use them every time, and highly recommend Big Al’s Specialty Movers!

Big Al’s Specialty Movers was excellent. They were recommended by the Steinway dealership in Los Angeles for my move up to Portland. I worked primarily with Herman. They were professional, on time, and called frequently to let us know their status and when we could expect them. When placing the piano in my home, they actually took the time to help me place it in just the right spot to get the best view and acoustics. I only wish I used them to move my entire household.

I, too, was very nervous about this very large piece of furniture, an armoire, that I wanted upstairs, and which others, less capable or experienced, couldn’t move for me. From the start the woman on the other end of the phone assured me they could do it and gave me a date pronto (weeks out as they are busy). It was worth the wait. They were in our condo from start to finish for fifteen minutes, and voila, the armoire was in its place of beauty upstairs in our master bedroom. And, guess, what? No divorce over it, and all is forgiven. Big Al himself was part of the crew, as were Carl, Eric and Vendor – all very capable, and they even joked while doing their work (while I was downstairs pugging my ears and singing «la la la la la…»)!

Recently used Big Al’s to move our big heavy furniture (armoire, desk, cabinets, treadmill, beds, dressers, etc.) across town. They did an awesome job — — courteous, efficient, extremely careful and STRONG! They got some big pieces down narrow stairs and into the basement without so much as a scratch on anything! They unpacked all the glass shelves in several cabinets and put everything back exactly as it was. I am picky and rarely write reviews, but I would highly recommend Big Al’s.

Love big Al’s! We moved from Vancouver WA to Pasco WA. The movers were efficient, very affordable, friendly, and take amazing care of belongings. They are the only movers we will use! Big Al’s is a great moving company and does a great job with pianos. They took a baby grand up 25 steps to my second floor. They were very careful and efficient. Staff is friendly and does great work.

They did a great job moving my grand piano. There was a little confusion about the number of stairs, even though I did tell the office how many there were. But they didn’t let it get in their way and they managed anyway which I give them kudos for. They were a pleasant bunch and worked very hard. I would definitely use them again.

This is the first time I used a mover for moving my entire home. I was pleased with how smooth the process was. The office staff was clear and efficient. They called with a confirmation and followed up after.
The movers were polite and hardworking and STRONG. They took care to wrap furniture to prevent damage.
My only complaint was that during the unpacking phase they highly discouraged me from moving any boxes around after they had loaded them off the truck. For instance, I was trying to put storage items on the garage shelves. They insisted on doing this for me. I just dropped it and did the work after they left. I’m sure there was a reason for this, but I figured it was mostly about working by the hour.
I did appreciate the time they took to set up our beds, and put shelves back on bookcases.
Overall, very happy to have movers and I felt the rates were very reasonable.

Great 3 men, headed by John Gride. Very careful and fast. Fair price — nothing hidden like their travel time. Would use them again.

We’ve used Big Al’s a few times now. First, they moved our grand piano a few years ago. They did a fine job with it.
Recently, we wanted to carpet our upstairs master bedroom/​suite. This is in an old house with a narrow, steep stairway. They managed to pack most of our furniture in the bathroom and then took the rest down the stairs. Three days later, they came back and put it all back where it belonged.
I was impressed with the care they took. When moving an old oak bookcase, they showed me where it was cracked (I had never even noticed.) before moving it. They used a lot of blankets and pads to make sure my cherry furniture didn’t get scratched. Both crews were pleasant and professional.
We will use them again.

I called 3 other companies before settling on Big Al’s. 2 companies never showed up to give me an estimate, one kept on talking about all the problems with the move (needing an extra trailer, having to buy packing blankets (?)). Big Al showed up on time, did the estimate himself, the guys were on time and nice. Very reliable. Lowered the stress of a family move between Portland and Phoenix immensely. Would use again!

Big Al’s Specialty Movers is a great company, who did an amazingly professional job for my mother’s move. They showed up on time, had well maintained trucks, handled all of the items with care, and took care not to damage anything in the house, including the house.
They were kind, respectful, and courteous. This was a 2 day move, due to the timing of the move, they stored the items safely, taking the items to the new house at the exact time. The move into the new home was seamless, and just as professional.
The men working the job moved quickly, I was surprised to find out they were paid by the hour, not the job.
I would recommend these movers without hesitation. This company also prides themselves in customer service. They earned an A+ from us.

Big Al’s has moved fragile chandeliers and antique items for our store twice now and they do a fantastic job with a smile on their face (and sometimes a song!) They are all so friendly and helpful. What a great group of folks. Professional, adaptable to changes and road bumps in the moving process that occur. Did a stellar job keeping things in tip top shape when moving. Use them!

Well, I really like this family business for moving large items quickly and reasonably. They are extremely professional and friendly. Big Al’s has moved my piano twice and done an excellent and safe job both times.
You know how you get a service person in your house and they don’t talk, don’t introduce themselves and don’t make eye contact with you? Yeah, these people will act the exact opposite of that and you will feel comfortable and happy when they depart your home. Call them.

Not only are they courteous, super friendly, honest… they worked together with me (in order to pass the savings onto moi) and their own moving schedule to get my lovely and one-​of-​a-​kind Kawai Japanese upright from CA to Portland.

We had to move some large equipment from a former business enterprise and called around for movers. Their rate of $ 125/​hour (for 3 people — 2 hour minimum) with no ‘travel time’ charges was the most reasonable we’d found.
They showed on time and ready to work. We found them accommodating and responsive to the needs of the move. They made quick work of it and the unload went well too. $ 250 to move all that large equipment (about a distance of ~5 miles) was more than reasonable.
Very satisfied — well done guys!

I was so pleased with the service I received from Big Al’s for moving my piano. They did the job well and for a lower price than anyone else I spoke with.
They moved my grand piano twice and also stored it in their storage facility between each move. They were very prompt when they arrived to move the piano and moved it quickly and efficiently (and of course, SAFELY!). The movers were really nice people, and anytime I talked to someone on the phone they were also very helpful and friendly.
These guys are great. Highly recommended.

Big Al delivered my baby!
Actually, it took 3 Samoan guys with the biggest muscles I have ever seen and 2 hours of labor to deliver my baby. They handled my baby with care and carried her down 1 flight of stairs and up 2 more flights of stairs where she is now resting beautifully in my living room.
So if you want a company to help deliver your baby grand, I highly recommend Big Al’s. They gave me a reasonable estimate, showed up promptly, were very careful with my piano and home, and kept their charge true to their estimate.
