Mimi’s Southern Kitchen

Tried to find this place on Saturday but I couldn’t. Tried to call but no one answered. I assume they may be out of business.

The food is amazing and the customer service is A1. My favs are the sweet corn cakes and the fried chicken! Don’t forget about the mac and cheese too! please support Mimi’s and I ordered through Eat 24.

FINALLY! Soul in the Valley that DELIVERS! There are some great SOULFOOD PLACES AND THIS IS ONE OF THEM! I ordered the Meatloaf plate! #NumNum along with the Mac and cheese, cabbage and corn cake! I LOVE cabbage that melts in your mouth! New Place to order from! Food was Amazing!

Best Soul Food I’ve had on the West Coast. I can’t wait to order again. Made my dinner and a movie night with wifey PERFECT! The food was better than the movie tho

I placed a delivery order for the Big Daddy Chicken Fried Steak with the white pepper gravy, the Not Yo’ Mama’s Meat Loaf, a side of dirty rice and a side of Mac and Cheese. Delivery took about an hour. The chicken fried steak was on the small side and had a drizzle of gravy (just a thin line of gravy) the chicken fried steak batter was pretty salty. It came with mac and cheese and corn cakes. The mac and cheese was excellent. Extra cheesy and also had a buttery flavor. The corn cakes were pretty good too.
The meat loaf had plenty of gravy but there were three slices about the size of a fish stick. The meat loaf tasted pretty good but the portion again was tiny. It came with fresh garlic mashed potatoes which tasted pretty good (no gravy on them though). It also came with braised cabbage which was over cooked (mushy) and over seasoned (too much salt and some other spice I could not place). The dirty rice was excellent. To be fair I think the restaurant just opened so I may try them again in a few months to see if they get settled and maybe work on their seasoning of the food.
I do not use salt so I don’t know if southern food is normally salty, or if there was too much salt, or if I am sensitive to the salt. Also they need to increase the portions of the meat because what I receive would maybe satisfy a child’s or a woman’s appetite. The sides were excellent (except the cabbage) but I can’t just order sides for dinner Again I will give them time to settle in and try them again. New restaurants usually change things around until they find what works and what doesn’t.

Found Mimi’s via the eat24 app and I’ve definitely found my new place to order in from! Generous portions of delicious food, it’s like having home cooked awesomeness delivered right to my door. Got the meatloaf with brown gravy, chicken fried steak with white gravy, both were beyond tasty. The cabbage and corn bread were probably my favorites, I could probably eat them both by the bowlfuls. Wish I took pics before I dove right in! The girl who delivered was really nice and gave me a 15 min heads up before she arrived. She actually followed the delivery requests (you’d be surprised how many people flat out ignore directions how to find us) and was so courteous and pleasant. Couldn’t be happier and can’t wait to try the other dishes!

All I can say is outstanding!!! I’ve been searching for a mobile soulfood place in the sanfernando valley for a long time and I’ve finally found one! They really give you that down south feel with their food and the service they provide is incredible. I wish them nothing but success. You guys be sure to check them out! I promise you won’t regret it!
