The Giving Tree Learning Center

This was the first daycare that my son ever attended, he started in the toddler room and moved into preschool 1. From the very beginning I felt very comfortable leaving my son here, even though I was initially very nervous about returning to work! We became very close with a number of teachers in both classrooms, and I could tell that they truly love children. I was extremely sad to leave this place when we had to leave due to moving, and our current daycare does not compare. We still keep in touch with a few of the teachers! If you are considering using this daycare, I highly highly recommend it and would take my son here again in a heartbeat if I could!

My son has been with the Giving Tree since he was 8 weeks old, going on three years now, and I have always been very happy with the Center. The staff are friendly and engaging, I have seen them exhibit more patience than I can muster most days, and they seem to really care about my son and his progress. They do parent-​teacher conferences every 6 months so I know how he’s doing, in comparison to how he should be doing for his age, and I don’t hear about this from other friends with kids in other daycares. They also do special stuff like «school» photos at least once a year, an annual talent show, and parent date nights a few times a year (way cheaper than a babysitter). We’ve talked about whether we want to move to another neighborhood, but we always come back to how much we would miss the folks at the Giving Tree.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. We came down with lice twice and Hand Foot and Mouth Disease while there. A couple times Anthony (2) was picked up with no socks on… obviously he was dropped off with socks on his feet. They recommended Anthony find a different daycare because he had trouble transitioning to circle time. Not impressed. He now goes to Grace’s Place and it’s 100% better… he comes home with art now… and is so happy.
