M & K #3 Spanish Restaurant and Bar

M&K is easily missed when driving down Richmond Road. The sign outside the restaurant is visible but doesn’t stand out. Having tried this place few weeks ago, I am happy to say it’s surprisingly good and is a worth a try. The interior is clean and simple and it definitely posseses the unpretentious feel of a family-​run Caribbean kitchen. The cuisine is Dominican and once you look at the menu, the staples of the small island nation are prominently featured. I tried a few things to ease my gluttonous mind. Below are highlights.
Steak with onions — sizable, juicy, and mouth watering.
Tostones with Green mojito sauce. The sauce was consistent and heavily accented with garlic. I liked it so much that I had to triple down on it.
Goat meat stew. This one was in the front bar section of the restaurant and was still relatively fresh. My only regret is that it didn’t get prepped when I got there. Would have been phenomenal.
The staff was very friendly and never overbearing. I asked some of them in detail about the dishes they were serving and they were happy to share. I washed my dinner down with cold beer and made a mental note to come back or order.

I recommend the stewed chicken with rice and beans but anything you order on this menu will be enjoyable
You definitely get your money worth here

This is the Best Spanish restaurant on the island. Not expensive, delicious food, and great customer service. Highly recommend they have another M&K on victory & Bay

This is the third local for m&k. They got it right. We came for dinner and were satisfied with the fare. It’s not a fancy place but clean and reasonable. The shrimp in garlic was delicious and generous. The rotisserie chicken the same. We enjoyed the plantains and took some home cause it was quite generous. The bill was less then I’m used to paying and we will be back.

If I could give this restaurant zero stars, I would. Not because of their food (which is not that great but not bad) but because of the lack of professionalism. We order three plates one was steak and onions the other two were breaded chicken cutlets, the oder came we had one steak and onions and two sauté chicken breast pieces, we called and said we got the wrong order and she says she has to charge me 8 extra dollars per plate, and my husband could hear the lady in the back saying in Spanish that he didn’t know what he was ordering and that she «Understood» that he ordered two sauté chicken plates, it was her mistake but she still wanted him to pay extra and have to wait all over again for the food to come. unbelievable, my husband said never mind I’m sending the whole order back. I can’t say don’t go here, but I could say you’re better off just going in and getting what you want, their customer service sucks big time.
