This is legit greasy and tasty Dominican food. It’s no frills(no, really, none) but if you want food like your family makes it’s such a good option. My mom barely cooks PR food anymore so most times when we’re in the mood for that food this is one of our go-to spots.

Excellent Dominican food. Pernil is on point! They have a lot of different options. Service is great and fast. They have a lot of workers so the wait is very short if any at all.

It’s a gem for Staten Island. Deciding on a selection has been my biggest problem. As soon as you walk in, there is a display of delicious, hot, fresh traditional Dominican food. I have visited this place a half a dozen times and I have yet to be disappointed. My last dish here was yellow rice, pink beans, baked chicken with onions, tostones with garlic sauce. I ate like a Queen and I felt like one too. A much desired nap after such meal is the biggest compliment I could give. Ohhh yes, I will be back.

Great Spanish food! Loved their BBQ chicken over fried rice & black beans! When you walk in its a bit confused and felt a little uninvited. Everyone spoke minimum English. and mostly all Spanish speaking, it didn’t bother me much. When you turn around you welcomed to the amazing aroma of all the food behind the glass. you see everything right in front of you! That is were I was welcomed and greeted. It’s similar to a buffet style serving. you’ll pick out what you want to eat and that your drawn to give your tongue a taste. The waiter then guided me to my seat and let me relax and eat. Took care of the bill after which not a lot of places let you do these days. But I was happy reminded me of being back in Puerto Rico, which I’m missing right about now! Happy eating Unilocalers!

Behind the glass inside the trays in the counter there is a crazy selection of Dominican staples. Whenever I come here with the pre-established mindset of what I want, I’m always thrown for a loop by the options competing for my attention. What’s more, the food is very affordable, so the indecisiveness prevails, and I start ordering multiple items until I hoard two large bags home. Mind you, all along I had been seeking a lunch meal. My favorite items on the menu are the baked chicken, roast pork, and bacalao(codfish stew). I usually order these with rice and peas and sweet plantains, for a very filling, delicious meal. The baked chicken in particular is money here — they get the crispiness on the outside just right without drying out the inside. For those who count calories, this is not the place for you. The food is very filling and the portions are big. For the rest, who enjoy our life, come on in.

Unfortunately there aren’t that many good eateries in Staten Island… that said I’m sometimes left with very limited options. Food here is pretty decent… I prefer to order things that I know will be freshly made ie; fried tostones, empanadas, etc that way I’m more likely to enjoy it. Drinks are good here as well!

I’ve got to admit I’ve only been here for lunch, and it is truly amazing. I like the fact that you can have a little drink with your lunch too. Try the fish and rice delicious.

Don’t expect a sit down service. The food is presented cafeteria style. I’ve had the pernil(roasted pork) over black beans and yellow rice. Fantastic! The plantains were also delicious. I’ve gotten take out here a few times and have never been disappointed. You get a lot for your $$. I recommend it!

First, let me just say that I know these NYC health grades are not ideal but you have to wonder about a joint that can’t muster up an «A». That said, I was happy to see that my favorite Spanish restaurant finally has an «A». So we went back the other night, around 8 and it seemed like the food trays were much more presentable. There was never an issue with the staff or how the food tasted and we pretty much stuck with the basics, arroz con gandules, pernil, maduritos and a side of pink beans. We’ve also had their fish to order and their beef patties that were also good. I hope they keep it up y «Que Le Pongan Salsa pa Mojar pa Mojar»! Wepa!

Majority of the food seems to be served buffet style, but the food was still good. I do not recommend the maduros(fried yellow plantains) as they were not sweet and quite stale. I got the carne guisado(beef stew) and my friend got the fried snapper. Both entrees were very good. This is not a fancy place and seems to mainly cater to take out clients or people wanting to grab a quick bite.

The roast pork, rice and peas, and yucca are very tasty. If you don’t want the rind from the pork make sure you let them know, as they prepare your plate. They do serve you plenty. Their beans are not very good and their sweet plantains are most times not the ripest. It’s best to go there early. They do plenty of business and for the most part the food is fresh. Their service is cafeteria style, and food is kept hot in steam tables, so by evening it tends to be dried out.

Great food! Smells so good! $ 6.50 lunch specials Mon-Fri. til 4pm. You can see all the food that is prepared and ready to eat right in the front, lots of workers and they move quickly, fresh food coming out each time from the kitchen. When you eat in it can take a while for the food to come out and Im guessing cause it can get busy in the front. Prices are reasonable and there open late on the weekends, I know they cater and deliver and theres parking in the back but its small. Addicted to the passion fruit juice, theres a small bar and beers too. Loud spanish jukebox music playing. They accept cash or credit.

This place is excellent but don’t come here on a full stomach because the amount of food you get for 6.95 is ridiculous! This is a home cooked as you can get and all my friends from Dom Rep and PR eat here so you know it’s authentic! If you speak Spanish it’s a plus while ordering bu don’t worry, if you don’t they will understand you just fine! A hidden gem in Staten Island!

I’ve always loved this food. I am glad they moved and have a better space. If you like traditional Puerto Rican food at a decent price, try this.
