I visited yesterday for my friend’s birthday. After a very late lunch, I wasn’t too hungry and ended up ordering the chili cheese fries. I thought that it would be a tiny little thing of fries since it seemed like it was on the appetizer section of the menu… but the thing came out with more fries than I thought. Luckily, I could pretty much eat fries in my sleep, so eating those fries while on an already semi-full stomach was not a difficult task for me! They were pretty good! Some were soft from the beans and stuff, while others were nice and crispy. I assumed it was so busy because it was a Saturday night. You pretty much order and pay at the counter and they bring the food to you when it is done. They clear the tables after you are done. The woman at the register was super friendly. Overall a good experience!

If you’re wanting to try this place, park by the movie theater then walk directly across, its next to the apple store. As soon as I walked in the girl behind the counter greeted me and asked if I’d been before. I found seating quickly, despite the smallness of the area. I’d barely even tried their lavender lemonade when they brought my food. I ordered the Chicken Run Ranch, their most popular item, took a bite and my stomach immediately dropped. The chicken portion had the same taste and texture as actual chicken. Having been vegetarian/vegan most my life I avoid these things like the plague. I ended up setting the chicken aside and eating the meal without it. I plan on going back since the overall experience was pleasant and maybe trying something with tempeh. That’s a safe bet, right?

For non-vegetarians it is hard to find vegetarian food that tastes good. The chili was the best item we had. It was flavorful and we didn’t miss the lack of meat. The meat substitute they used gave it a nice meat-like texture. The tacos were a bit bland but tasted good. The Thai coconut soup didn’t compete with a good Thai restaurant. For people that are on a vegetarian diet this place rocks. For those that eat meat, the flavors are good but you will have to be in a vegetarian mood. For fellow carnivores, suggest you try the chili first unless you don’t like chili. We will be back when in the area.

The one in Happy Valley is good. And what I ordered was great! Curry bowl with tempeh. The one in Tigard is bad. Why? HV has great service and friendly staff. The Tigard one … The staff just don’t want to be there. Fine. But also the food sucked at the second one… Maybe the employee at the register just steered me in the wrong direction. But after I ate this seasonal kelp noodle bowl that was disappointing as soon as it landed in front of me… I was still hungry. That’s the worst. It sucks and now I have to go spend more money somewhere else to eat something and somewhere more decent. Also — some other customer was having this whole thing with their food which also put a damper on the mood in there. Not sure if I’d bring a friend here or be back… Only if it was convenient. But there’s so many other options. WOULDDEFINITELY return to the Happy Valley one.

Please come to Michigan next, Native Foods! Specifically Grand Rapids, MI. I will help keep you in business, I promise! I try to eat local when I’m in a new city but since Grand Rapids, MI doesn’t have a Native Foods yet, I gave myself a pass to check out this expanding national chain. I was intrigued and delighted by their concept of offering only gluten free/vegan/vegetarian items. Not everything is all of those things, but everything on the menu is at least meat free, if not healthy in those other ways. It took me a second to get that concept though because they advertise«chicken» items all over the menu– their chicken is not real chicken though, rather a soy/veggie mix meant to taste like chicken, but calling it by that name(not even misspelling the name to indicate it was something different) was confusing. Once I got that down pat, the rest was smooth sailing. The concept is similar to other casual dining restaurants like Panera or Noodles: You order at a counter and it comes out to you in about 5 minutes. My tofu, rice and veggie dish was AMAZING and my husband, who rarely eats vegan/vegetarian plates, was pleasantly suprirsed with the rich, full taste and filling feeling of eating it. We had left overs and took the rest home for a snack later. Bonus: veg dishes are always good as leftovers because typically you can eat them cold or warm without loss of flavor.

I love this spot! As a vegetarian there is often limiting choices of places to eat, so it’s nice to get to go to spot and have no-limitations, and be able to order anything off the menu. ANd, sometimes at regular restaurants I don’t even like their vegetarian options, garden burgers are usually dry, and fall apart and not that flavorful. But, I love all the options at Native Foods, they are amazing. Very tasty, and healthy, with a huge selection. And, I really like their beverage bar, their WATERMELONFRESCA is my favorite!!! ANd, the other options are fun and unique and refreshing as well. Also, their desserts are really good too. If you are ever in the area, you should check this place out!

OMG!!! A colleague took me to this place for lunch and I am absolutely in love with it after only going one time. I ordered the spicy Korean bbq sandwich, and honestly… It is the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten. A nice kick, pineapple coleslaw, and the fries were thin and crispy the way they should be. Too bad they don’t have these in NC but I’m hoping they will come soon. This place is great and you should definitely go here if you’re vegan, vegetarian, or simply want some good food!

This vegan restaurant is a blessing in my life! A wide variety of options… never get bored. Salads, bowls, nachos, burgers, fries… I would eat here every day! For drinks, mixed the green tea and the lavender lemonade. The seasoned sweet potato fries are a must. Try the side-slaw.

The most delicious mock meat I’ve had! Meat eater friends of mine love this place too. My favorite is the RANCHCHICKENBURGER, which I highly recommend because their(not)chicken and french fries are amazing! I’ve been here many times and will continue to go.

As a vegan there’s not many places I can go and the few places I can go don’t give me that many options, which just adds to why I love this place. The food is so good and fresh. Plus the wait time to get your food is super reasonable, even when they’re busy. My husband, who is a strong meat lover, enjoyed it too so you non vegans or vegetarians will probably like it too.

We love this yummy yummy vegan food(and not everyone in the family is vegan). I really enjoy their bowls and salads(even though they took my favorite kale bowl off the menu– double boo). My son likes their children’s meals and I love the vegetable as a side option! We’ve tried many of the sandwiches and wraps and they never disappoint. The service is always 5-stars! Friendly, helpful and happy!!! Plus the restaurant is always clean! My only complaint is that they add a cajun-salt sprinkle to just about everything. It’s REALLY salty, but they have no problem when I ask for my food without it. Please try this happy restaurant! You won’t be sorry that you did! :-)

So so, not as good as expected, since the review is more than four stars. Will not go there again. Previously mentioned there was chicken, not all vegetables. Then someone who does«research» on those restaurants sent me a message saying it is all PLANTBASED and impolitely require me to take down the review. My fault on missing that, but the flavor is still not there, not going to change any comments on that.

Excellent food! Top notch quality on freshness and presentation. They are non GMO and you will be amazed you are eating vegan food. I will say I would love them even most of they would expand their salad options a bit. I am not into pepper spice at all and their salads almost all are chipotle or jalapeño based.

I’ve been trying to eat more veggies this year since the new year resolution, and this seemed like a quick healthy fix before work. Looking at the photos it was obvious speed was the key and not so much on the presentation. Ordering at register was easy with visual aids and I liked the high ceiling windows which let much natural light in. Many children were present, surprisingly. It only took 10 minute for order to arrive which was very fast. I loved the butternut polenta bites. So warm and soothing, definitely hit the spot. Mexican style salad was also refreshing and sweet potato fries were one of best. Not sure what the green salt was made of but added savory saltiness. The parfait was way too sweet for my taste, and other desserts looked even more sweeter. So I’d skip the dessert next time, and chai was really watered down too. So minus a star for those two reasons, but overall quick and healthy option with great ambience :)

This is the place where feel good factor kicks in as soon as you enter. There is lot of positivity and friendliness in native food’s air. From ambience to service to food everything is nice. Native food experience has always been a good and memorable one for me. Ok let’s talk food. It’s a vegan heaven! There are some fried crunchy starters too.munchies. Favorite ones are sweet potato fries, chicken wings(fake meat) n fav drink is hot chai(love it) with unlimited refills. For entrée. 1. Chicken Avacado burger is flavorful with crunchy patty. 2. Soul bowl has steamed greens, beans, rice topped with fried chicken pieces. I have always loved their bowls with a side of well baked corn bread. I highly recommend Native foods café. It’s well priced and they have seasonal specials. For non meat eaters there are lots of flavorful burger options. Go for it!

First of all, I’m pretty sure Dante intended to put«being a vegetarian» as the 11th Circle of Hell. My life could easily be described as a constant quest for«the perfect steak.» That said, I recently found myself with an hour to kill at Bridgeport and I was starving. I passed by Native Foods, saw a sign advertising the Oklahoma Bacon Cheeseburger and walked in. Now keep in mind, I had no idea that«native» food is synonymous with«vegan.» I came in expecting an Oklahoma Bacon Cheeseburger. To me that means a hamburger, real bacon and cheese. Imagine my surprise. Although I was initially disappointed when my keen spidey senses alerted me(shortly after walking in the door) that that this wasn’t going to be the type of bacon cheeseburger one typically associates with the great state of Oklahoma, I was starving and thought I’d give it a try. After all, I’ve eaten some strange things while visiting China a few times so I consider myself open minded when it comes to food. That«burger» however was disgusting. I mean, why even try to cloak it in a «burger» form? I ate the sweet potatoes fries, left the burger and went somewhere else. I’m only giving this place 2 stars because the staff was friendly enough.

I’m by no means a vegan, I love meat. Stumbled into this place and thought I’d give it a try. We ordered the nachos, chicken(fake) burger, and polenta cakes. The food is very fresh, high quality ingredients. As a meat eater, I actually thought the chicken patty in the burger was very good. Sweet potato fries were on point as well; make sure to ask for the chipotle sauce on the side its really good for dipping. I wasn’t a big fan of their native cheese on the nachos, it was too sweet.

This is just a five star update following my last review from 3 years ago. I have now had many other items on the menu, and have loved most everything. My current favorites are the Scorpion Burger with added cheddar, and sweet potato fries. They also have an oatmeal sandwich cookie for dessert that is to DIE for. They also have some new menu items out that I can’t wait to try. I only get down there once every month or two because it’s like 45 min each way, and of course I have to support my favorite vegan Portland restaurants as well.
