If there was an option for zero stars that’s what I would rate this restaurant. The hostess mentioned, as a matter of factly, as if discouraging our party of 10 from staying, the wait time would be 30 minutes. We waited with 5 kids for almost an hour and watched every smaller parties of 4 get seated ahead of us. That’s poor service and planning. We won’t go back there until they get training on seating large a number of hungry guests.

Horrible service. We came in with a party of four at 5pm. We ordered our entrees at 5:20. The two cold entrees came out ten minutes later. One of the hot entrees came out at 6, the other one didn’t ever make it out. The waitress offered to have it remade, and I told her to make it to go m. It came out at 6:40 and wasn’t even cooked to order. The waitress took the food back, spend another 20 minutes getting the manager to remove it from the bill, and we were finally able to leave. At no point did we ever see a manager. The waitress said that my food was comped, but I didn’t get to eat anything, so it was not comped. I won’t bother to visit this restaurant chain again.

They certainly do not know how to seat a party of 11. Maybe you need to hire a better staff that can do the math and better planning sense. They could have at least followed up with us and let us know that they can not accommodate our wait time.

Will start by saying we came in about 30 minutes prior to closing with about 17 people. We were winding down after a very long 2 days of running a very large and successful recital. You could tell that these folks were not happy to see us come in. Guess they had better things to do. The waitress was pretty great tho. The food was ok. Here’s where I get a little angry. As we were finishing our meals they started to BLEACH the floors all around us. I don’t mean around the restaurant. I mean literally 2 feet from our chairs. My eyes started to sting from the bleach. All the chairs in the restaurant were up on the tables and workers were staring at us. Folks, it was only 11:25pm. The restaurant had closed to new patrons for only 20 minutes when the bleaching began. I have worked in restaurants for many years and when folks come in late, you give them the food prep and service they are PAYING for. Unbelievable. My wife’s high school friend is the main owner and I’m sure he’ll be aghast at this review but he should know what happens at his restaurants.

Its been a long time since i’ve been back. The mud bugs season is back so… Its Floyd’s time From 2−6PM is also happy time. Anyways, my light lunch was very good(today’s special) Creole rice side is huge. Just a bit bonny, the 2 shrimps, because they stuff the crab meat in the middle of the shrimps and they have bone chips in there. So a bit apprehensive after the first bite. The waiter and hostess were very prompt(even though i look like a freaking homeless, raggedy clothes and sweaty from Spring Cleaning…)

Went today for lunch and we loved the Seafood Fondue. I had the Lunch Combo. I picked the Fried Shrimp and Fried Catfish which came with home cut fries. BTW– THERANCHDRESSINGISAWESOME! The piece of Catfish was cooked to perfection, tasted great and of good size. There was only 3 Fried Shrimp which were ok. Service was good. Will definitely go back and try other items. Big variety of items on the menu.

Probably the second-worst gumbo I’ve ever had from a self-proclaimed Cajun restaurant. Loud atmosphere. Unappealing preparation. Food is otherwise so-so, drenched in Cajun spices. For the price, you can get better down the street at Razzoo’s or Pappadeaux.

We’ve eaten here before and the food has been OK but this time was a true disappointment. My wife had seafood gumbo with only four shrimp and no other discernible seafood. I know I should know better than to order a steak and a seafood restaurant but I really felt like some beef. The steak was very gristly, and tasted as if it might be old, on the verge of spoiling. My wife tried the crackers on the table before the food was served and commented that they seemed rancid. The only reason we gave them two stars was credit for a previous decent meal, and the waiter did a pretty good job. I do expect it will be quite some time before we give them another chance.

Fast service but the food was average. I ordered Shrimp Ettouffee was ok… it was a bit too salty. I’ve had better Ettouffee.

Great patio, nice choice in music. I come for the crawfish. Oysters are gulf. I don’t know why they charge 2 $ for bread

So our first time visiting Floyd’s in Sugarland is definitely going to be our LAST!!! This has been the worst experience I’ve had in years. Wait staff rarely visited our table, witnessed two other tables seated after us get their food before us. When asked why this was the case, the waitress summons her manager who was unprofessional and lacked empathy!!! What a complete embarrassment for this chain!

First off the crab bisque was amazing! And things were off to a pretty good start. Then we decided to order the 5 lb crawfish special. Our bad.. . Despite the raving recommendation from our waiter. The crawfish left us very disappointed they lacked flavor and we found several heads in our platter. I should have returned it and asked for a refund. needless to say we won’t be returning.

My friends and I had the pleasure of coming here for their crawfish we all heard about. We arrived about 2pm and the place was packed(but no wait). We initially sat outside but it was soooo windy that we opted to sit inside. Outside was nice, had several tables and its own bar area. Inside was very spacious and filled with crawfish-eating folks. My friends started with frozen drinks while I ordered a drink with ‘Rebecca Whisky’ lol We started off with the gumbo appetizer. You can choose between seafood, chicken/sausage and some other ones. I ordered a cup of seafood, it was hot and served instantly! The roux was so dark and thick & the flavor was amazingly yum! They also give complimentary buttery bread. They had a 5lb special for $ 35(I think) that we ordered. That came with a corn and potato. The potato was REALLY good but the corn tasted raw and uncooked. We informed our waiter, not for a refund but so the other customers won’t experience the same rawness. Yuck. Nonetheless our waitress(Ms. Debra) was awesome and kind enough to take them off our receipt. She was friendly and very attentive to the specials and items on the menu. I’d definitely recommend this place and will be glad to return.

We tried a Friday night without reservations– big mistake– 7 ish and an hour wait– we went back for lunch the next day– I had the oyster Floyd appetizer– it was delicious, the fondue was good too. I had the stuffed flounder blacked the flavor and cooking was good– hit a few bones– nothing major for flounder. We did not do dessert– I did have a great draft wit beer, Nevada something. OUr server was attentive but not hovering– we will be back for sure.

I came here last night on a whim just because I’ve always seen the place but have never been. The waiter was nice and helpful with the menu. He helped suggest items and how best to order which was thoughtful. The food came out relatively quickly and tasted wonderful. I got the Cajun chicken po boy and it was packed full and very good. The fries needed some seasoning(which they provide Cajun seasoning on the table along with salt and pepper). Overall everything was nice. Next time I go I’ll try the crawfish for sure.

Yesterday me and my wife went to this place for the first time and honestly, we did have a good experiences. We didn’t have to wait to be seated Our server was so helpful recommending what to eat since it was our first time. They also have a nice outdoor bar Over all I am going back to this place whenever is a Chance.

Came here for the gumbo cook off, but was extremely famished so decided to have a small bite before stuffing myself with gumbo. Ordered the calamari appetizer and 2lb. of crawfish. The calamari was great. I am a crawfish advocate, and for a Cajun place, it was pretty darn good. The crawfish was not overly cooked nor was the shells hard. It made it easy to peel and the shell/body was tender to our surprise. A bit spicy/salty but it’s just the Cajun seasoning all over, and if you can handle it, it’s really good. Service was good. The ambiance of this restaurant had a really nice friendly vibe and just makes you want to people watch. Overall, great place, and will definitely considering returning if in the Sugarland area while craving Cajun/seafood.

RATS… RATS. I always eat here one of my favorite places but after today, what I experience at lunch was terrifying. My waitress didn’t make the situation any better by not believing we saw a rat until she seen him too. The rat run up the wall be hide the lighted corona sign. I think it’s their hideout.(no telling how many rats are in there) The manager(talk white guy) confirm that he see them twice a month. I video’d the whole incident. Thanks for spoiling my lunch and one of my fav place to eat.

I’ve been craving for raw, super cold, clean, big, shucked, not too salty oysters and of course it is oyster season! How hard would it be to find some good ones? Pretty hard! One of my co-workers referred me to this place and my boyfriend and I decided to try it one night and boyyyyyy was I pleasantly surprised. The menu had some items that I knew I had to try and knew I would have to come back for more! –Crab Bisque Soup —(5⁄5) This was so bomb, I first tried this at a restaurant back then and ever since I have not found one that was as good or notched it off. And I am so happy I have finally found a piece of heaven. I originally order a cup of the soup, but it was so good I ordered a 2nd one. –Raw Oysters —(5⁄5) Big sized, cold, juicy, shucked delicious oysters! –Grilled Oysters Parmesan —(1⁄5) I was expecting Drago’s or Acme type of chargrilled oysters. I felt like it was plain because the garlic butter wasn’t drenched into the oyster and the cheese was already hardened and it wasn’t as flavorful like others I’ve tried. –Floyds Seafood Platter —(3⁄5) (2 Oysters, 2 Catfish, 1 Stuffed Shrimp, 2 Shrimp, 1 Crab Cake &1 Frog Leg) The only thing I honestly liked was the fried catfish, the oyster was too fishy, but the raw ones were fine. The batter was made with cornmeal which I’m not a fan of, but it was still good. Stuffed Shrimp and the Crab Cake were similar, one just had the shrimp in it, the boyfriend liked them but if I taste too much of that seafood shrimpy taste I feel like it’s not as fresh. The frog leg was gamy to me, Im not fond of exotic foods so again, he ate it lol. –Fried Okra —(3.5÷5) I love fried okra and I chose this as my side. I wish the batter was more seasoned and the okra needed to be more cooked, but it was a decent enough My boyfriend and I shared everything and it was more than enough, we had enough to even to-go. Still, many other things to try. The main thing that made me fall so hard for was the soup not only that but our server was superb! He was one of the best waiters I have seen in the longest, very courteous and attentive. The only downfall was that he said EVERYTHING was good when I needed something a little more helpful than everything.
