Ok so we have been eating here since there original location on Highway 6. I must say there service is still amazing. The food quality and value is excellent. The wine list is overwhelming but can please everyone. Sooo the Chilean Sea Bass was fabulous! The crab cake was awesome and the asparagus appetizer –perfect. I have no complaints! Underrated on Unilocal

Our first visit to the Happy Hour bar. We will be regulars for now on! My husband loved the choice of craft beers, and the bartenders gave samples of his requests. Wine choices very nice. The ambience was very relaxing, with piano music in the background. Patrick introduced himself to us and welcomed us to Veritas. Before we were ready to leave, he said wait… I have a surprise for you. We were delivered a piece of chocolate cake. We took a few bites to be polite. but then ended up devouring it! It was delicious and we will order it next time we visit! Service exceptional! A new favorite for us!

I think I’ve found a new favorite restaurant! The vibe is great on a Saturday night with live music and great views of the lake. We ordered empanadas and the lamb lollipops for appetizers… perfection. For dinner, we ordered Chilean sea bass and a steak & lobster special… both were so good! We’ll definitely be back!

Wow! Have to admit our first experience was not the best, but I voice my concern to the owner. He ask if we could give him one more chance(my wife and I talked about it & decided to try it one more time). The event we went to on November 9 was amazing! Great people and great wine. The owner made sure we were taking care of and introduce us to some great people. I highly recommend this place. If you are know to the area(Sugarland/Missouri City) & looking for that goto place, I think this place is it. I recommend starting off with there Happy Hour(Thursday is ladies night), it is one of the best in Houston hour. They have great prices and the bartenders have their own specialty drinks that they can make for you. After, you try their happy hour come back for the food.

HRW #1 — family edition This was my first HRW of 2015. I also used it as a way to celebrate my mother’s bday and parent’s anniversary since they so rarely dine out in nicer restaurants. The location is pretty good(old Post Oak Grill location near Azuma on the Lake), with plenty of parking and valet. The back side is situated facing the lake. The interior is what you would expect of a steakhouse — dimly lit with lots of dark woods. Our service was very friendly and timely. We went with mostly HRW items, along with a few others for more variety. Overall the food was pretty good. The escargot was not rubbery and had a flavorful butter sauce that we sopped up with some bread. Steaks were cooked to temp. Chilean sea bass had that lovely oily flakiness that you want. It was all good… but not outstanding. I’d lean towards the price point being a bit high, but since there aren’t many other solid steakhouse offerings in the area, they can probably get away with it. I don’t know that I’d come back unless I was in Sugar Land. I would much rather drive into the city for a number of better steakhouse options.

Please be aware that my review of Veritas was right on the money(and the TRUTH) with the dirty wine glasses and overly priced improperly cooked food. Especially the filet. The loaded baked potato was loaded with dry baked potato for 9 dollars. Kevin Rios(the manager) replied to my Unilocal by voicing an apology on Unilocal and saying he «BOUGHT» the wine. VERITAS means«TRUTH» Kevin! I still have the receipt with the bottle of wine charged on it! Maybe you should rename the restaurant«Vanidicus». That means LIAR. Anyone planning to spend 200.00 dollars on dinner for two should read Isabel P’s. review as well. I’m sure Kevin will tell some ridiculous lie about how he took care of that too. Don’t WASTE your money. Go into Houston and get a good meal.

This place is just pretty good, but the pricing makes it not worth a return trip. It has the same pricing as some of the best places in Houston, but the food quality is just pretty good. We had a steak dish and pasta dish, a salad and a soup. Nothing was exceptional. The pasta dish was actually pretty small. The menu is pretty limited. This wine list is extensive, but I did not recognize most of them, and, of course, they were highly priced. The service was good and the ambiance is good. We spent about $ 200 including $ 50 wine and $ 30 tip, but I thought it was only worth about $ 130.

Food was delicious… A little bit pricey but still delicious. I had a small complaint about it being my mother’s birthday and even calling ahead and telling them, but there was no recognition of her special day. When I mentioned it to the management, I never got a reply. If you want to celebrate a special day, I would suggest that you go somewhere else.

Love the bar bites menu here. But why oh why did you change your French fries from those crispy thin darlings you previously offered to the soggy thick fries you served me last night? And is it just me, or is the service sliding downhill? I’m a regular so I hope I’m wrong.

The husband and I was craving for steak so we decided to Unilocal it and try a new place from our usual. We were also looking for a place to bring my dad for his birthday next month so we were searching. The pictures look good but too bad it didn’t taste as good as the photos. We came in tonight(being a Saturday night), there was no wait for our party of 2. Hostess greeted us and got us a seat near the window near the water which was nice. The waiter greeted us right away and gave us our water. We ordered the escargot and lamb lollipops. They were really really good. The escargot was buttery good and the lamb cooked medium rare. We also got complimentary bread and olive oil for dipping. The appetizers started well so the expectation of the steaks was leading us to believe an awesome meal. I got the NY strip [chef] special that came with mashed potatoes and spinach, requested the steak to be medium rare but more so on the rare side. Husband ordered the prime rib rare. Our steaks were over cooked. Husband says my prime ribs were better and cooked more rare. My NY strip was more medium and chewy. I would like to honestly say it was also a BAD cut/quality of steak. Maybe close to a steak I would find at Walmart. Going out to a steak restaurant, I was looking for a taste I can’t make at home because they find the top of the line or close quality steak. Heck, Sam’s Club steak would have been better than what was presented. It was the«chef special» for the evening so i was also expecting more. See my photo to see my NY strip cut. Proves the quality of the steak was poor. I did tell the waiter it was chewy but will take the steak home anyway. Why? I fed it to my dogs. That expensive of a steak, I’ll at least have my dogs enjoy it if I couldnt. I did eat all of my sides(potatoes and spinach). At least I really enjoyed the appetizers. Also the husband ordered a potato as his side dish. $ 9 for a baked potato with a little bit of cheese and sour cream. It was laughable for the side dish that didn’t even get bacon bits or chives. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice and intimate. Waiter was attentive with other staff runners filling water at every sip. That’s where the 2 stars are given. However, the steaks were a disappointment. I doubt I’ll return… maybe for the other entrée other than steaks. Prime rib was a fail and NY strip was a fail. Do I dare try the filet mignon? Waste of money. Won’t be bringing my family here. The search for quality steak in Sugar Land like Taste of Texas or Pappas steak is still a task… no where near a match.

A few months ago I called and arranged a reservation as a surprise for my parents’ anniversary. Everything went so smooth and i didn’t even have to step into the building once. I called made the reservation and told them i would be paying for the food and dessert, etc. they took care of everything and my parents let me know the table was even decorated for them. They had such a great dinner that as they elaborated about their night i felt like i was there. The only«drawback» was that my parents did have to call me to confirm the bill and sign for me– which is completely understandable so that only made me more appreciative though i was sad my parents had to know what i spent :/

We came here for a private meeting and presentation. They had things set up very well and things were organized. The servers did their best to unobtrusively take care of us. While we were given a pre-fix menu, my choice of the Tilapia was freshly prepared, severed at a good temperature & very flavorsome. It was cooked perfectly — nice sear while retaining lots of moisture. I could tell it hadn’t been sitting under the heat lamp for long before it came out to me. The Caesar salad was crisp and cool when it was served as well. I didn’t care for the Key Lime pie crust too much however. Overall, I think they did a great job for serving over 30 people. It’s a hard feat to serve dishes swiftly and still hot from the kitchen and not be in the way.

I went with about 12 coworkers and we had a great time. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I got the bacon wrapped scallops and they were fantastic. They put together a great little sampling of appetizers for us because nobody could make up their mind. I also noticed that all of the filets at the table were perfectly temped and looked amazing. Would definitely go back.

I used to book large luncheons for executives here and they accommodated us nicely with either the large private or smaller private room. It’s nice to be right against the lake and on a sunny day sit outside. Now about food — have a lobster salad. Everything seemed to their liking. I didn’t see an unhappy face in the crowd but please try that salad.

Major shout out to my sister who watched our little ones(surprise planned by her and my husband– sneaky!). We were able to celebrate our 12 year anniversary at Veritas seafood and steakhouse. Although this was my second visit, it was my husband’s first. Prices are pretty steep similar to its counterpart steakhouses, but so definitely worth it. We started with house white(chard for me) and house red(cab for him) — great choices by bartender on both those wines. For apps, we got the lamb lollipops and the escargot! Both were cooked very well with great flavors. We dipped bread in the butter sauce that came with the escargots… mm-mmm! For our entrée we shared the special(seabass with mushroom risotto) and that was a hit as well. The risotto was not warm when it was brought to our table, so the waiter brought us some extra which was very nice. Took home some key lime pie as a thank you to sis and it was delish. I would pick this place over Perry’s any day and will certainly return for another date night or possibly a GNO!

Great service, good food, steakhouse prices. I was impressed by the level of service here. Not too bothersome, not ignoring you either. It was the right mix of polite service. They never interrupted the conversation of the group. The food is typical steakhouse fare. Very good wedge salad, amazingly cooked bone-in ribeye. Good expense account place.

Absolutely lovely. Not over-crowded. Food was excellent and the service was attentive yet non-intrusive and not a bit rushed. The view over the water is beautiful. We will definitely be back.

Delicious filet, great service, and beautiful view. The wine menu is very impressive, although it’s possible to find a bottle that is moderately priced. I can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu! The manager, Ruben, came and visited with our table and was so gracious. Juan was a great waiter. Plus, I love the name of the restaurant… true story.

First time to this place. It is where Post Oak Grill use to be and the food was ok. Not great but not bad. Service was good and the ambience of the restaurant was good. There just was not a wow factor or anything that made this place pop but overall had a good experience. I tried the filet steak which was cooked well and had good taste but again nothing spectacular or wow factor.

Walked in… Stood for five minutes at the hostess stand and no one greeted us. So we left. Wish I got to try the food at least, but it looks like they don’t need customers.
