My boyfriend and I love this place. Why go to Perry’s steakhouse when you can come here. The ambiance is romantic, the food is consistently flavourful and cooked perfectly. I love the complimentary plantains and cilantro cream dip they bring to the table. The crawfish bisque is rich And creamy with seafood flavour. The fish dish is light and juicy. There is an older crowd here but it’s cute when they get out on the dance floor and dance. They have had the one waiter who has been there forever. He makes a perfect Mojito. The flan is homemade and is a great desert to round out the meal. Fernando does the cooking himself and he tries to come out and say hi if he’s not busy to the guests after the meals. It is the cost of a fine dining steakhouse but you can usually find a Groupon.

Heard about this place on groupon and decided to give it a try. Waiter is extremely rude. Was not attentive whatsoever. When we ordered, he seemed to rush us and went away. We, then, asked for a drink menu, and he said they did not have one and that he will tell the bartender what we wanted and quickly went over to the next table. When he is over the next table, he was standing there talking and laughing with the patrons and offered them the drink menu. Bad service. Food was alright. One of my worst«fine» dining experiences ever. Will never return.

I am sure there are many that have had a nice dining experience at Fernandos. That was some of the problem for me… it was nice. We had a Living Social deal we got for $ 39 which included an ap and 2 entrees. When we walked in the place, it reminded me of an old 1970s country club fit for the Boomer generation that live in the nearby once regarded high end sub division. The wait staff were incredibly nice and hospitable. The food was ok… a very simple Latin«inspired“menu, but only inspired… more like your Texas Aunts version of what she got out of her«Betty Crocker: Latin Nights» cook book. After all was said and done, it was a 3 figure dinner that tasted more like a fancier Chili’s. For the money, I would have rather gone to Chili’s. If you are looking for a place for the office Christmas party… this is the right place. If you are into getting what you paid for and expecting that wow factor at that price, seek elsewhere.

My husband and I visited Fernando’s for our date recently and found that the hospitality is very welcoming. The atmosphere is very romantic with the dim lighting and diverse music. I truly enjoyed the experience in itself. The waitstaff were very attentive and catered to our needs with no complaints nor long wait times. Now let me speak about our meal. My husband is not a huge steak eater, however, after the medium well steak, potatoes delicious garlic bread and pico I believe that this may change his mind. He could not stop raving about the juiciness and tenderness of the steak. I had the Milanese with pasta and mixed veggies. I most certainly will not complain about this entrée at all! The way the chicken breast melted in my mouth with each bite had my eyes rolling to the back of my head. I allowed my husband to taste it and he was pleased. He said that it reminded him of his moms cooking. Overall the meal and scene was most enjoyable. We will return again.

Fernando’s is one of our favorite Sugar Land establishments. The staff is super friendly and the food is amazing! My personal favorite is the ceviche and shrimp appetizer. I could live on that!

Good Food! Hubby loved the steak, the fish was OK. The fried banana chips and dip pre-dinner grub was excellent! Rice and beans good! No one at the restaurant was a bit scary! Good Food! Good Service! Good Wine! Hope it picks up in traffic! Excellent atmosphere!

First, I’ve been before and I liked it then and now. I like the ambiance and the look of the restaurant as well as the friendly wait staff. It is always pretty empty, but I don’t mind the quiet. Food is always fresh and delicious! Used a Groupon deal and added salad, steak empanada. We had two vegetarian entrées: Grilled squash, zucchini, asparagus and sautéed spinach with rice. All in all an enjoyable experience!

Food probably was ok. But everything was too much over priced. They had no non-alcoholic beverages menu. Plus they have nothing for the kids.

I went here a year ago and I wrote a review on Google reviews. All of a sudden I remember this place and I can’t help but repeat how bad this place is. I just have to post it again and again… Here is the copy and paste of the original review: «If you want to ‘feel’ like you are paying for high quality food and service, and not actually get that, then this is the place for you. I suppose this place is designed for business meetings, and treating clients for lunch and dinner, etc. But this is definitely not for families. Maybe we just needed to be all dressed in suits and ties. Otherwise, you will get 2 star quality food, 1 star quality service, but 4 star pricing. You are better off going to Perry’s, because the quality/price ratio is MUCH higher.» Now, if you read more reviews about this place, you will eventually draw the same conclusion I have. Basically this place judges you as soon as you walk in. If you are not the kind of people they want to serve, then you will get terrible service. My biggest grudge against this place is why don’t they just become a private exclusive restaurant if they only want to serve certain people? Why the hell are they even open to the public, list themselves on Groupon, and when people try to use it, treats them like crap???

While the ambiance was really luxurious we sat in a semi empty resteruant at 6pm on a Friday evening because they told us they were booked. We left at 7pm no more people. The groupon we used was worthless. Tons of hidden fees. Drinks are crazy overpriced. Food was descent but Papaduexs would have been just as good and a lot more fun. I’m not a fan.

Very strange place… went there on a Groupon as most reviewers… and I have a blended experience from everyone else’s. First of all, it is a strange building in the middle of ‘nowhere’. We were kindly greeted and sat immediately with a wine menu. Then the weirdness… didn’t get actual menus for another 10 minutes. They really only had 1 waiter, and like 3 busboys. Then, the music that went from Michael Jackson, to Frank Sinatra to Big Band… just all over the place. The other strange thing… the food was actually really good! The ceviche was good and fresh, and the steak empanadas were good too. Steak was done well(not well-done as I’ve heard in other reviews). The egg-soaked fish had great flavor. The veggies were very fresh on the side. Around 10pm, they started playing some Latin music, and we thought they were turning into a nightclub. Nope. Just putting on cleaning music for the staff I guess. Food: 5 Drinks: 4(wine was reasonably priced) Atmosphere: 3(just too weird, nice enough LOOKING) Service: 3(very nice, just slow) Price: 5 on the Groupon, otherwise 3. Not sure I would spend the money on this place if it weren’t for the Groupon, so make sure you get that to start. Doubt I’ll be back because of the location… but ‘stranger’ things have happened.

If you like bad service… If you like only one server for the entire restaurant… Wait for you menu to given after 10 mins of sitting down. 40 mins of waiting for you entrée. Order a steak medium rare and come outs well done. Wait for your check for 15 mins. This is the place to be. enjoy!

We were welcomed quickly and our waiters were very attentive. Not sure why a reservation was needed. Not busy at all. The food was tasty. Menu not very large. I really enjoyed the music selections. old school. Bobby Vinton, dean martin, Doris day, rod Stewart singing 40’s music, some sinatra! It was good stuff. We used our expired groupon with no hassles. No tip was factored in and we were not taxed on the tip as was previously mentioned in other posts. I had the fish and my husband had a steak with mushrooms. We also had beef empanadas for an appetizer. Too full for dessert, but the looked tasty!

I stopped in for a cocktail during rush hour and didn’t eat, but I did have some observations about the location. It’s nicely decorated — it’s a white table cloth kind of place — and had some decent décor and atmosphere. The thing that stood out was how dead they were. Given it was a Thursday evening, and that’s not exactly prime night for dining out, but most other places in Sugar Land would have a lot more people than I saw. When I left at about 7:30 the dining area and parking lot were mostly empty. There were very few servers — like two maybe — which made me feel that they didn’t expect to have much business.

The place is charming. The food is good, but it can be better. Just need a better cut of meat for the steaks. I enjoyed my experience overall. Great customer service!

I was definitely expecting a little more flash and upscale experience. It is a nice place inside and out. My dining experiences in Sugarland have been much better than this one. I’m not sure if the service was average because the coupon that was used or because it was close to closing time. I’ve worked in and managed restaurants since I was 18. I can tell when a place isn’t trying as much as they could. The presentation was good. The flavors were good. There’s just something missing I can’t put my finger on.

I actually like this place! The plantain chips are perfect, no grease, crispy and tasty. The steak empanadas were flavorful although it is fried so has a little greasiness to it. The steak is grilled quite well and I love the tres laches cake. The cake was creamy more than sweet. What a great end to my meal.

I bought a groupon for this place and was not disappointed. I spent $ 80 on a four course dinner for four which would have been ~$ 220. The grouping was $ 99 but I used a 20% off local deals code that brought it down to about $ 80. I had been craving a good piece of lamb and saw this groupon. I decided to treat myself and 3 others and figured $ 20 per person was not bad for a fancy dinner. Keep in mind that tip and tax is ONTHETOTALAMOUNT, not the groupon amount so you tip/tax on $ 220, this was a big complaint with the groupon but it clearly states it on the info details. Also, you MUST make a reservation ahead of time, they are closed Mondays and you must use the entire voucher in one visit, I say this in case anyone out there wants to use a groupon, Fernando’s usually has groupons available. As far as the food goes, I loved the food there! I shared ceviche with my fiancé, had a caesar salad and ordered the lamb for my main course. My fiancé had a steak with a craw fish and avocado salad on top which was delicious! We shared a chocolate mouse cake for dessert which was delicious too. I was happy with the quality of the food, especially the cuts of meat which were as tender as could be! The service was pretty good too. They seemed to have half the restaurant open and only a hand full of severs but we got all of our food in a timely fashion. The server greeted us nicely and made a few jokes here and there which is always nice. Overall, it was a great experience with tasty food but be ready to pay a pretty penny if you are going without a groupon. The meal would have been $ 270 without the groupon and cost ~$ 100 with it. It was a nice treat though. TL/DR: Food was great, especially the lamb. Service was great but you have to call in advance to make sure they have seating. The food is expensive so save your coins or choose a different restaurant unless you have a groupon or want to drop 3 Benjamin’s on a dinner for 4.

The food and service are excellent. If you want a nice quiet meal in a romantic ambiance, this is the place. The background music is pleasing and unobtrusive. There is a small dance floor if you enjoy dancing.

Fernando’s is a hidden treasure in Fort Bend County. They have the finest steaks cooked to perfection! The staff is outstanding and the ambiance perfect! We eat here all the time and enjoy great food, dancing and a large selection of wine. Highly recommend Fernando’s restaurant.
