This Pomodoro is WAAAAAY better than the one in fairfax. Better Menu, Better Service and better food!
The owner Salvatore is very friendly and accommodating. His daughter and the staff was very friendly. Too bad I don’t live close by otherwise I’d go there a lot more often

Disappointed with this place. Ordered mozzarella sticks and the meat lover’s pizza with pepperoni, sausage, «hamburger» aka beef and ham and asked for onions. The pizza was just bleh, nothing special. The onions were an afterthought because they were cold and just looked like they forgot about it and threw it on there before closing the box. I mean it was pretty bad, no flavor whatsoever. I was just super disappointed after coming here because of the reviews. I would come by to try something different but not sure if I’d try the pizza again. The one in Fairfax is 100x better.

Tried take out for the first time last night. When I picked it up, staff was friendly and attentive. Food was ready. We had spaghetti, ziti, and ravioli. Very tasty, meatballs were very good and I could tell freshly prepared. My only complaint would be that the «bread» was actually crescent rolls. Not exactly what you expect from an Italian restaurant. A freshly baked small loaf of Italian bread would have been better. Overall, satisfied and would try again.

Ordered a chicken Parm hero. Chicken was hard and in chunks instead of of breaded and moist. Would not order again.

Stopped in and grabbed a slice of cheese pizza to go– delicious and generous size. I also saw the cheesesteak and it looked good, too. Next time I’m in the area, maybe I’ll get that instead. :)

One of the best Italian food I’ve had in the DC region. Their marinara sauce that came with the calamari and bread sticks was really great. We ordered lasagna and spaghetti and the servings is more than enough for each person.
This will be our new favorite Italian joint to go to near Dulles.

Best pizza in the Sterling, VA area! No need to look any further. If you want great New York style pizza this is it. Menu is great for non-​pizza items also. Great to take the family for eat in too. They don’t deliver, that is the only downside.

The boss is a SCAM! He has a tip jar at the counter, and every time ive gone ive put money in there thinking it’s for the cashiers; little do i know it goes to his pocket! I asked the employees and they said they don’t see a cent of the tips, WOW! When i called to ask about it he gave me a horrible attitude and hung up on me. Second, they ALWAYS mess up my order. They eaither give me a whole different platter or add extra’s to my food. When i confront the boss he gives me no comfort, he just says «I’ll fix it» and yells at his employees every time. Horrible man

Amazing! We were going to Olive Garden but I’m glad my husband talked me into trying here. Loved the atmosphere! The food was amazing!!! Highly recommend!

My husband and I really enjoyed this adorable pizzeria. The atmosphere was charming, simple and authentic. The food was delicious — we had the margarita pizza and Stromboli. The sauce was rich and the basil and mozzarella fresh. Definitely will be back.

Without a doubt my favorite Pizza place in the area. It doesn’t get better than this folks!

I’m here probably twice a week. Always consistent. Friendly. Quick service. Comfortable.

Not impressed. The food was average, I had the stromboli and it was just okay, not bursting with flavor as I had hoped. The sauce was either not that good or not my thing, but it certainly didn’t help things. The fountain soda machine tasted off like it hadn’t been cleaned or was running lean to save money. Don’t cheap on a $ 2 soda, probably costs them 50 cents. One of the buttons would stick on the root beer and it tasted funky. Tried the coke, not much better. The tables needed to be bussed and cleaned, condiments were a different one to each table, and the place needed some TLC. The girl behind the counter was nice but she ignored me for several minutes for a phone order that was cancelled at the end. Hello… I’m standing here. At least acknowledge me…

This is a hidden not so hidden Gem!!! I was starving last night craving a Philly Cheese Steak and found this place on Unilocal!They are very courthouse, the place is beautiful and clean, and the ambiance just reminded me of Little Italy in NYC! My sub was to die for… Safe to say I MUST try the rest of the menu! LOVE IT! Highly recommending it!

Are there better Italian restaurants? Yes. Can you find an Italian restaurant in the area that will give you a better value for your dollar? Probably not. That is why this is a go to place when you have a craving for pasta. They do all the typical dishes quite well and have a very wide selection of choices. This restaurant is like getting the quality of a white tablecloth sitdown restaurant but at take out prices. Although it may not look like it when you come in this place has decent wine selections! You could have quite a nice meal here with friends or family.
I would love it is this place made their own fresh pasta. If that ever happened I would come here all the time.

The owner Sal is wonderful and super helpful. The food is excellent. Try the steak and cheese with focasa fresh made bread. Also the new sweet buffalo pizza is amazing!

We really enjoy Pomodoro in Sterling. There is another location in Fairfax and that one is very good too. Spaghetti & Meatballs, Chicken Parm, and the New York style pizza are all very good. Growing up in Brooklyn I am a fan of a good red sauce and good pizza and I think Pomodoro’s is very tasty. Reasonable prices and very casual… make it good for the family. Would much rather come here than one of the big Italian chains.

Food tasted fresh and was very delicious. The flavors of the pasta were wonderful. The chicken soup was also very good and the vegetables in it tasted fresh. Definitely coming back and recommending this place to others.

I was hoping for something special here at Pomodoro. The environment was nice, with of course, Italian murals and décor. It’s like an upscale pizzeria/​pasta joint. We came here as a group for co-workers’s birthday lunch. They were able to take a reservation and we were able to sit as a group of 20! :) The staff was helpful and accomodating with our bill as Pomodoro was able to combine our bill so we could split it easily. BONUS!
I can only review what I ordered which was the cold Italian Sub with Utz potato chips. It took a while to get my order because of our large group. The sub bread was toasted and the portion was quite generous. The appearance of cheese and banana peppers with Italian dressing was present on top of the sub. The sub appeared to be 8 inches in length for 7.95. Upon biting into half of the sub, the quality of the meat seemed average as was the cheese and toppings like onions, lettuce and tomatoes. It was good but wasnt great. Not sure if I will be back though.

Today I ordered dinner from this place, and it was very good. The pizza was fresh when we picked it up. The sauce that they use is delicious and super fresh! I also ordered the breadsticks with cheese. They were not what I was expecting. I had thought they would be breadstick with cheese dipping sauce or maybe a piece of dough with cheese and then cut. They were breadsticks with cheese baked over them. They were not what I expected, but they were really good!

Was just passing through and relied on Unilocal for some good hoagies, and was surely not disappointed. We ordered the calamari, side Caesar salad, chicken steak super hoagie, Pomodoro’s special pizza, and a coke.
The calamari was okay; served with lemon wedges and a dish of marinara sauce. The side Caesar was much bigger than we thought; this too was okay. The chicken steak super hoagie was bomb dot com! It was huge and delicious! Considering the price? Way worth it! The special pizza was yummy and perfectly cooked – the dough wasn’t burnt, veggies were fresh, taste was great. The coke was made with real sugar not high fructose corn syrup.
We might not drive out of the way for this place next time, but if you’re local or passing by, definitely a good pizza and hoagie joint!

I have been her twice. Had the same thing both times, Special Stromboli. It is the best Stromboli I have had. Even though it was pre made, the outside was crispy and the inside ingredients were fresh. Tasted great, only wish it were bigger!

I typically order the house salad, with house lemon vinaigrette (which is INSANE), and chicken. It’s by FAR the best salad around. Also a decent price ($ 8 – 12 depending).
Their pizza and baked goods are all rock solid too.
I’d recommend this place to everyone.

I’ve been to the pomodoro in fair lakes and it was one of my favorite pizza places in the area! I just moved out to the sterling area and I was thrilled to find another location! Maybe today just was a bad day, because of the big snow yesterday but I was actually pretty disappointed in my experience. I got a couple slices of white pizza, they didn’t have the buffalo chicken that I love, and it just wasn’t what I am used to. The cheese wasn’t melted, it was like kind of chunky and it was so greasy. I’m hoping this is just a bad day, because fairfax is a lot further away!!! I guess I’ll give them another try another day and see if they can redeem themselves.

Delicious. I’ve gone to the fairfax location many times before but this one is just as good. And luckily it’s only a few minutes from my workplace!
I ordered a slice of sausage and mushroom and one of cheese and a fountain drink. I later asked them for some red sauce on the side to dip my crusts into. The total came out to a little under $ 9.
The pizza is delicious and just as good as the fairfax location. I’ll have to keep going back to try other menu items

We love this place and have been coming here for many years!
Their steak subs, cold cut, grilled chicken Caesar salad, spaghetti, lasagna, and pizza just to name a few have never disappointed us.
That is until yesterday as my chicken was way overcooked and hubby’s cheese steak sub wasn’t anywhere near it’s yummy flavorful self. His cheesesteak didn’t have the banana peppers or cheese levels that it normally had. Apparently, they changed the delicious bread that it used to be on. He asked for no tomatoes and they put tomatoes on HALF of the sandwich. Not sure what that was all about (lol). Hopefully that was just a temporary thing and they get their cook back on track and they get their breads restocked.
Oh well, they’re allowed this misstep. We will be back, of course! Because this ONE misstep in over ten years, will definitely be forgiven. We can’t help it… this is one of our favorite places to eat!

I love Italian food and Pomodoro’s is much better than Bertuccis and Olive Garden if you ask me, the pizza is good and the pastas have more of an authentic taste to them
I’ve eaten everything from calamari to stromboli and haven’t been let down yet
They have awesome lunch specials and the staff are all nice, and the atmosphere is cool

I went back and tried the pizza after seeing many people rave about it.
It’s a great value — get the extra large, and take home the leftovers. The cost difference just makes it economical because it’s minimal from the other sizes.
The pizza is absolutely delicious. It’s just a tad bit greasy and the crust tends to get soggy after sitting 15 – 20 minutes. But I really liked the flavor. While Pomodoro isn’t my favorite pizza in the northern Virginia area (Vocelli and Delia’s get that designation), it’s a close third right there along with Papa John’s. (Say what you will, PJ’s might be a chain, but their pizza is done right!)
Pro tip: Reheated breakfast Pomodoro pizza is even better than the first time because you can really crisp it up!
