We decided to try this place on recommendation from a local and it did not disappoint one bit! Service was great and food was amazing! Quick and courteous service! Boyfriend ordered the prime rib and lobster plate, I got a taste-and only a taste because he ate it all– we agree, it was DELICIOUS!

Exceptional! This is our second time this year dining here and both experiences were above my expectations. Awesome steak and lobster for an affordable price. I highly recommend the Moscow mule. Jose was an attentive and thoughtful server who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. We never felt crowded or neglected even though being a Saturday evening it was very busy.

I chose The Timberline due to all the great reviews I read on Unilocal and I wasn’t disappointed. The atmosphere was reflective of beautiful Tahoe and we were seated immediately in a comfortable half circle booth near a window with a view. We had the Prime Rib & Lobster $ 19.99 Special and it was delicious. The lobster is small but still very flavorful. The Prime Rib was cooked exactly as I wanted it… medium rare and had a wonderful fresh herbs flavor. The hot French bread was served before our entrée along with our salads and it was difficult to stop eating it. I chose the garlic mashed potatoes as my side and the small serving was perfect and delicious with just the right amount of garlic flavor. The vegetables were glazed carrots with some broccoli that had a sweet spice flavor which I loved. We were full but couldn’t resist trying two of the desserts. The Mud Pie, which got consumed down to the last chocolate cookie crust crumb, and the Tiramisu which was filled with flavors of espresso, chocolate, rum and mascarpone melted in my mouth with every spoonful. I also want to note the service was excellent! We will be back!

It was the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had in my life. Poor atmosphere and the air was full of smoke from the casino. The prime rib special was very disappointing, I couldn’t take it. The meat are tough and dry and frozen lobster was hard as a rock, smell so fishy! Not recommended. Sad and depressing as the sunset through the dirty window.

Good food, nice atmosphere and if you get a table or a booth by the windows for dinner, you’ll get to see a beautiful sunset. We’ve been here quite a few times and the service has always been pleasant. The steak and lobster special comes with veggies and a baked, mashed or fried potato. The bread comes with a dip-which is whipped grade A butter, olive oil and fresh shredded Parmesan cheese. We came here on a Friday night before and there was a musician playing an acoustic guitar and singing– it was really nice. We brought our 13 yr. old daughter and grandchildren ages 16 – 8 yrs. old and they loved this place. We always stay at the Ridge, so driving here is less than 10 minutes and I think they’re open until 10pm or later?

The prime rib is fantastic! $ 20 for a prime rib dinner, salad included! The meat is tender and flavorful! Of all the options here, I always have one meal here.

Good service; our host was very generous and talked to us about the menu since it was our first time there. He came back whenever our cups needed to be refilled with water. The spare ribs were delicious. Not a fan of the sides that came with it but other than that, I’d get it again. The meat came off the bone easily. The barbecue sauce was good, not too strong or too plain. The soul of the day was turkey chili and boy, it was amazing. I’m not a fan of chili but I tried it and it was very good.

The Timbers … nice, spacious venue with high ceilings. I heard more about their $ 19.99 lobster & steak deal than I actually saw their printed ads so I guess that says something. I’ve always leaned more towards red meat whilst my boyfriend favored seafood. I guess you can say that the $ 19.99 was a bargain neither of us passed on. We came in a group of 10 – 13 guests. Everyone insisted we get this $ 19.99 deal and so we did. We ordered our drinks, we had a fair share of bread and olive oil. Our server was a nice guy who made friends with everyone at our table. until he decided not to come back to visibly watch TV with maybe 6 other servers instead. Typically, we’d be pretty hurt; however, our table joined the server groups to watch the game and that was that. No hard feelings; it was a good game. The meal itself — $ 19.99! A 20 dollar meal for steak and lobster; who could ever refuse. Initially, I did. I was on vacation, a weekend getaway. The group insisted we come to the Timbers specifically for this deal, we were there, how could it possibly hurt, right? Well, it didn’t. I had maybe 2 bites of my meal and gave away my lobster. The steak was a bit generously salted and I had nothing against the lobster, I just normally don’t eat it(no judgement/review on lobster). I packed it anyway. I ended up never eating it because it was too salty. For 20 dollars, it seems that it’s a hit or miss for people. Overall, price, service, environment were all okay. The food was worth the price is all I can say. I’ll probably order something else if we had to come back.

Nice place to sit and have dinner. I liked the high ceilings and decoration. They had some really nice live music. Their special deal is sirloin and lobster for $ 19.99. It comes with a lot of other sides, veggies, potato side, soup or salad. Their burger was huge. I think the most special item was the incredibly warm bread. They have a butter, olive oil, cheese, and vinegar dip for the bread that was delicious.

4.5 stars. Ordered Their Excellent Prime Rib. Garlic Mash. Claim Chowder soup. Included Creamed Spinach, Roasted Candied Carrots(OK. There wording was Glazed) Sour Dough bread. Its very EarthToned Decorum, very comfortable leather chairs. Wow! Outstanding SOURDOUGH Bread. Warm. Heavenly. With Precious Sour(haha who don’t know non-sour Sourdough Bread is cheap bread, imitations). Comes with Olive oil, Basamic, Italian seasoning and … more of a spread. These are touches that makes for great dining. Claim Chowder is Good. Not super creamy. Lots TENDERTASTYCLAM. With Bacon Tim is my server, and his friend Mike. Attentive, Considerate to Excell. Two in my family preoccupied winning on the Casino Floor. They won nicely on last trip as well. This is Locals Casino. Very comfortable Sports Book area. Lighting is Soothing. For South Tahoe I can see why locals FAV Whole Heartly here. One of their server Mike just ask if I would like more DELICIOUS Sourdough bread. Bringing to the Table he said Those are Dangerous. With Excellent Prime Rib n Char grilled Prawns coming_____I seriously need to control Runaway Yumming Sourdough bread way beyond excess. Seasoned Prime Rib: Perfect Med Rare. Those Foodies with Herbal Love would be happy. Char Grilled Prawns: Too Pretty to Eat. With Roasted Lemon. Just tasted the Prawn. Wow! Ok. Just made the Observation I won’t be able to finish this large Prime Rib. Would Bet $ 100 its Happily over the 14 oz I’ve ordered. And Wonderfully prepared. Their Chef needs to be complemented. Dang. Can stop thinking of the Prawn. Every Savory Bite. Marinated Exquisitely!!! Sorry to Say the carrots were not Glazed. per menu. For those in the know see my Unilocal picture. Are my carrots Glazed??? I left the staff a very nice Tip. Better than to spend nice Gratuity at Harvey’s or Harrah’s gambling table. Lol.

So we went because of the 19.95 steak and lobster and after reading some of the Unilocal reviews we knew it was what we were looking for. What were we looking for? Good food at an affordable price. That is exactly what we got. As far as the restaurant goes the décor looks like it was done in the late 70’s and hasn’t been updated. That was fine with us. If I am spending $ 50 or $ 100 for the meal I do expect more but for that price we were fine with the décor and if you like retro then you will think it is fine. We were there on a Wednesday night in mid April(low season) so it wasn’t crowded at all. We got a table right away and had our pick of booth or table etc. The service was excellent and what we expected. The salad and appetizers came a little close together and the waiter apologized. I think because it wasn’t busy is the reason. Since it wasn’t busy we definitely got a little extra attention on our refills etc. We started with appetizers of ahi tuna tar tar and broiled in the shell oysters. Both were prepared really well and if we had to choose, we couldn’t we would just order both again. For the entrée’s my wife had the lamb steak and I went for the steak and lobster but I upgraded the steak to prime rib and added a second lobster tail for $ 6. I knew the included tail would be small, I wasn’t expecting a $ 50 or $ 75 surf and turf combo for $ 19.95 and anyone who does is a moron. I was pleasantly surprised, the prime rib was a large cut to the point where I didn’t need the second lobster tail, but I did pay more for the prime rib so the larger cut was appreciated. My wife said her lamb steak was perfectly prepared and had a great horse radish type crusting on the top that gave it a nice flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes were strong which we like because if you are ordering garlic mash do you really want wimpy flavored potatoes? We will be defiantly going back. During the same trip we went to the chart house and paid more for the view, the updated décor and less food. It was a nice time but if I had to choose and my budget was any factor I would and will be going back to the Timbers. If you are expecting a $ 100 per person meal then go to the chart house. If you want something more budget friendly go to the Timbers. Keeping in mind they have other great menu items that will cost more but are prepared really well.

Came to The Timbers to celebrate mine and my BF’s birthday with my family. Who knew that such a nice restaurant would be located in such an old school casino? We came because we saw steak and lobster advertised and were genuinely surprised in finding a gorgeous dining area. We were a large party of 10 and they were easily able to accommodate us in this gorgeous community table. Our server promptly came to take our appetizer and drink orders. We had the Napa appetizer platter to share which included bruschetta, potato skins and lettuce chicken wraps. The wraps were a light and delicious way to start the meal. Despite coming in for the steak and lobster, most of us opted for prime rib instead. i got the 10 oz which was their smallest cut. But there was nothing small about this cut at all. I’m so used to the petite cuts of prime rib being so teeny, but that was not the case at the Timbers. It was a good sized portion and I was only able to eat half. Both my dad and BF also ended up sharing theirs with others in our party. My nieces loved their fettuccine alfredo, which were also pretty generous. My other niece got the kids’ pizza which could have easily fed all three of them. My sister and BIL shared the Pan Asian appetizer platter with pork belly, mango spring rolls, crab rangoons, coconut shrimp and chicken satay. The pork belly just melted in your mouth, it was so tender. Maybe next time, we’ll opt for sharing an appetizer platter also. All in all our dining experience was really good. The service was prompt. Food came out in a timely manner and was tasty. Price was okay. I’d say that it was fair for the quality of the food we received, but was no bargain.

Pretty good. I’ve always seen the $ 20 steak and lobster special advertised for years and decided to try it. $ 20 is exactly what you get here — a very small, yet juicy and tender steak with great flavor and a small lobster, buttered and grilled with about 3 bites of meat. The food had great flavor, but not much to fill you up. My mom’s boyfriend had the extreme bacon cheddar burger — OMG. Looks amazing and huge! My boyfriend had the 12oz prime rib. He said it was ok I didn’t try it. I have to say — the sweet carrots did not impress me at all. I really didn’t like them, I don’t know if it’s all spice or what, but I could have passed on that. The garlic mashed potatoes were less than garlicy. For those reasons — I give it 4 stars instead of 5. We had 2 very helpful servers that were polite and very helpful and ATTENTIVE. Dessert — crème brulee and the mudslide pie(I think that’s what it was called) so good. We finished both of them between my mother and myself. OMGGGG — I’ll go back just for desert.

Came here for the steak and lobster deal. The deal is worth it. The steak is small but it’s filling and the lobster is delicious. I ordered it as is and my sister substituted here steak for a prime rib and the prime rib was tasty. Hardly any fat on it and cut just right. The staff were professional and our waiter was courteous. The restaurant was quiet and the atmosphere was cozy. I will be back!

Okay, I’ll admit, I got suckered in to Timbers bc of their lobster dinner advertisement, $ 19.99, who can resist that deal? Huge mistake. First and foremost, they need to mention that it’s only during dinner. Therefore, none of us were able to order the lobster special. On top of that, we were seated in back corner of the restaurant, viewing the back of the slot machines. We’ve asked if we can be seated elsewhere bc it was dark and cramped. The hostess told us all the tables are reserved or not opened. Okay, there were plenty of empty tables at 1pm on a Friday. There was no lunch rush. At most, six parties beside us. Whatever. We were hungry as we drove from SJ to Tahoe. After we were seated, our server didn’t come by at all. 20 mins went by and we had to ask for one. She didn’t even know we were there. Hello??? Once we were informed that the lobster special was only during dinner, we ordered what’s available on their lunch menu. I got the double order of BBQ $ 18.99 it wasn’t a bad deal if the food actually tasted good. The meats were dried, the garlic toast was burnt, and the potatoes salad was lackluster. Coscto’s Kirkland potatoes salad is wayyyy better! And that say a lot about their business. I wouldn’t come back here to try their lobster deal as their lunch was not up to basic BBQ standards.

The Timbers is a great casino restaurant /steakhouse a few doors down from the large Stateline casinos. It’s located inside the Lakeside Inn & Casino and there was ample parking in the back. Walking into the casino floor gave off the slight stale smell of cigarettes– a slight reminder of countless and hopeless hours spent on the floor. We quickly made our way to the restaurant and was seated very quickly for a party of 4. Our table was a very long communal table which felt like we were in a very homey cabin. Live music filled the mostly empty dining room from the lone guitarist playing some recognizable songs. The menu was very complete with a variety of options but we came for one thing and one thing only, the Prime Rib. The options were for a 10, 12, 14, or 16 oz cut with some veggies and potatoes served your way on the side. The pricing was a little weird because two 10 oz was only five bucks more than a 16 oz. I was a little too exhausted from the day’s activities to calculate what was more worth it so I went with a middle-of-the-line 14 oz cut with a baked potato. The warm bread was served with balsamic-soaked parmesan cheese, olive oil, and a whipped butter spread on the side of the liquid concoction for a uniquely delicious combination. I could have eaten the bread alone and been content with this meal but I still had a date with a medium rare hottie coming up. We took mental notes of the recipe for the next time The prime rib was cooked to perfection and my cut had a generous serving of fat. Every single bite was extremely tender and went down well with a small dab of horseradish. The baked potato and veggies were great but the prime rib sure made the trip up to Tahoe complete. The service at The Timbers was attentive and the food was fantastic. Go here for your prime rib fix!
