Ok decided to try this place. Said the chicken and waffle was great. Not. Was i suppose to tell them not to make the waffle crispy like chicken. Chicken was great though. Next time ill let them know.

Great service. I went on Saturday and the service was great. The food was great also. I went back on Sunday and the waitress remembered my husband and I by name. I will highly recommend this place to anyone.

Man… yummy! 15 minute wait but once seated and ordered, we had hot-off-the-grill/waffle maker breakfast. Coffee was fresh and robust b Everyone was friendly and courteous. I had a pecan and walnut waffle(with extra butter). My wife had eggs, crispy hash browns and a good biscuit. We walked out $ 30 lighter(including tip).

Awesome for what it is! A good ol’ American breakfast. The pancakes were great, light and fluffy, and my husband was happy with his strawberry waffles. Really yummy fresh strawberries. Coffee was good, and service was quick!

Came in for a late breakfast and at 10am I was shocked to see how packed it was. My wait was about 20 minutes. It’s a nice little mom and pop shop with a old school diner feel. The menu was stacked and the prices were very reasonable, most plates at around $ 7 to $ 10 dollars. Today I opted for the traditional egg and bacon with a side of pancakes, which was their special at $ 5 bucks. What a deal, nothing was overcooked and the pancakes were the size of a plate. Not a bad deal for what I got, and I also threw in a fruit cup to quench my inner health nut. Service once seated was fair and they had a gal running around providing refills. The place is real popular so come early and be patient, overall pretty happy and the food was good. You can’t really beat the prices anywhere.

I was pretty impressed. Friendly service. Delicious food. I ordered pretty basic food(eggs, fruit, English muffin). But the fruit was wonderful! It was a mix of berries that were relatively fresh! My fiancé ordered a sandwich and he was pleased as well! No complaints here!

Pancakes and crispy bacon are yummy here. I ordered a pancake sandwich, but it was served deconstructed. That was what I was going to do to it anyways, but don’t expect the eggs and bacon to be put in between two pancakes, if that’s what you wanted. Small space in what looks like an old ski chalet and decorated with local area photos and memorabilia. Cute and more of that local diner feel, but groups any bigger than six should beware that if they can squeeze you in that it will be tight. There’s bar seating also, if you want to sit at the counter to eat. I’d go back. Nice that it’s off the main strip but still really close to the hub of things. Friendly service even though they were short a person that morning.

Have been to this place a couple times and it never disappoints. Cozy interior and super friendly and prompt wait staff and the food is what you expect, delicious. Hash towns are dynamite.

Pancakes are YUMMY. Probably the best I’ve had. Jalapeño bacon was a bearably spicy. Coffee was… coffee. Toast was a little on the bread side… so I had to send it back to get it toasted some more. Service was ok. Though upon entering, I didn’t feel very welcomed. Few staff members made eye contact without a greeting… so we stood around and waited to be seated… but I think you seat yourselves. Will be back for the pancakes. … and will sit at the bar. =)

Husband and I decided to try this instead of going to IHOP… The food was basic and decent… We went about 1130 and we’re seated right away. The place is tiny and was full… Not much room for walking around and my chair continuously got bumped by waitress and other patrons. Husband ordered ‘the ususal’ I ordered 2 eggs sausage and pancake breakfast. The food was about the same quality as ihop or Dennys, customer service was okay… We had 3 different people who helped us. I would go back for another simple basic breakfast that isn’t Dennys

Great Service! It was busy busy busy but it didn’t matter because the staff were friendly and prompt to take our order. Food was great and hit the spot for breakfast food. i got tea, eggs, toast, hashbrown, and chicken sausage for $ 10.

The food was good. Basic stuff you can cook at home, so if you’re looking for basic breakfast, which was fine with us this place is decent. However, the service brings the score way down and apparently this location doesn’t serve alcoholic beverages. So no Bloody Mary’s or mamosa’ here people. We sat for 10 – 15 minutes before anyone came to get our order and there was 4 girls wandering around working there. We were confused about who to ask to get our order taken because they all seemed to avoid eye contact. However once our order was put in our food came super fast!!! So the cooks are fast but the wait staff could do much better. No one checked on us after we received our meals until we got the check. Its probably better on a slower day.

Note to management: If you want to hire a snarky person with zero customer service skills to work in your establishment, that’s your prerogative. However, put her in the back washing dishes instead of on the front lines as the hostess/cashier. That said, the food was very good. Hubby and I split a western omelet. The waitress was kind enough to have it put on two separate plates for us. The ingredients were fresh and food arrived quickly, once we could get a waitress to take our order. The servers seemed disorganized and confused. Line cooks stood idle for over ten minutes, in a packed restaurant, with no tickets coming in. With the right manager, and some direction for the wait staff, this place could be so much better.

Basic and no frills. Good breakfast and great value. I had«The Usual» which is biscuits and gravy with eggs and hash browns for $ 5.99. Pleasant service. I will come back.

I have been coming to this particular store for about 30 years. It is a true gem, that if you did not know, you would drive right past. It is nestled between a bank and a small grove of trees. The place is generally packed, but the wait is usually not long. The staff is very friendly, the food is consistent good, and the price is reasonable.

This Red hat is a tiny house located 0.5 miles from Mont Bleu. Definitely a good option for American breakfast if you desire so. I liked steak that comes with two eggs, toast and hash browns.($ 10.99). It is enough for two people to share if you are planning to order a waffle for desert.

The most affordable meal on our trip for our family of 5! Something for everybody. The Usual, Waffle sandwich, chicken tenders /fries, Dons special, & breakfast sandwich enjoyed by all. The girls on staff were awesome. Super friendly and never an empty cup! Great find!

I came in a bit skeptical of the diner vibe meshed with the crunchy Tahoe waitstaff. However, the food was ready quickly despite every table in the place being sat. My veggie omelette was solid but the BF did not get his crispy hashbrowns and our toast ran pretty late into the meal. Womp. –1 star. Caution: their coffee is strong!

$ 10 for my 2 eggs and 1(just 1) chicken apple sausage(split in half to make it look like a bigger portion), with a small slab of hash browns(which I don’t care for anyway) and choice of toast(i went with english muffin). i asked for over-medium eggs(semi runny but partially harden yolk) but my egg was completely runny just like an over-easy egg. my husband’s «fried egg sandwich» was made with over easy(aka sunny side up) eggs too, not exactly«fried» as indicated on the menu. the place is small and cramped. the couple sitting next to our table kept awkwardly looking over at our table(this had no affect on my rating of the restaurant, just sharing the experience). everything else on the menu was not impressive either, the price is way higher than i would expect from a little diner like this. at least the service was descent. i’m not impressed by this place and probably would not come back again.

One of the locals recommended this place and I’m glad we gave it a try. The Red hut rösti was amazing!!! The combination of the sour cream, green onions, cheese and eggs was to die for. We will be eating here again before we head back home.

My friends and I were craving breakfast food during our stay at the Montbleu Casino so we decided to check Red Hut Café out. Good atmosphere and great food. Ordered the French Toast Special for $ 10, with a side of hash browns for $ 4. The sausage was a little crispy, but had a great taste. Overall, breakfast was great here. I recommend checking it out if you’re in the South Lake Tahoe area.

When we visit Lake Tahoe, we come to Red Hut at least twice. We still have 3.5 days left of this trip, so chances are we’ll go back again. So far, I’ve had the Red Hut Rosti(hash browns, melted cheese, ham, bacon, sausage & a fried egg, which is optional but to me it just makes it better). Today, I had the Western Omelette(ham, cheese, green pepper & onion) w/hash browns. Just as delicious and something I would definitely order again. We like the Stateline location b/c it has that diner feel/character to it(it’s an older location) and the service is friendly & prompt. There is a lot of delicious food in Lake Tahoe, but only one place to eat for a real cooking, delicious food, relaxed atmosphere breakfast. That’s Red Hut, Stateline.

Sadly this place didn’t do it for me. I found Red Hut on Unilocal and was expecting great things. Maybe it was my fault because I ordered a hamburger for breakfast, but that shouldn’t have mattered. I ordered a blue cheese burger, medium rare. I got a stale bun with a well done, premade patty that was better suited for a hockey puck than a burger. Good news is that the Earl Grey tea I ordered was good. My hubby ordered Corned beef hash. It was obviously out of a food service can. YUCK! For 9.95 he could have gotten top of the line wet dog food and it would have been just as good. We sat at the bar. Service was friendly and quick. Thus a second star. Needless to say, we won’t be back.

Once again, thank you Unilocal for finding us another awesome café. My brother and I both decided to try the french toast special, which consist of delicious french toast, an egg and 2 pieces of bacon. Very good, tradional breakfast followed by wonderful service and a great location.

Actually kind of bummed. I looked at the reviews and expected a lot more. Maybe we just ordered the wrong items but I was very disappointed. If you look in my reviews of breakfast places, I always order the corned beef hash to see how well they make it. I have found some fantastic spots all around that take the art of their corned beef hash very serious. I looked up on their«Specials» board and they had their corned beef hash listed. I thought, «Great, it must be good. Let’s try it out.» Straight out of a can and barely heated on the flat top. Very bummed. My wife ordered what the waitress said was one of their best burgers. She ordered medium rare. Burger was just a frozen patty type and was over cooked. Bun was way too big for the burger and was kind of falling apart. Not really good at all. I can heat canned corned beef for a buck at home and specialty burgers using boxed frozen patties? Very bummed for our time there. We won’t be going back.

We found the Red Hut Café while at a basketball tourney in Tahoe. The teenager actually picked up my phone and opened the Unilocal App to find someplace to eat(I will make a Unilocaler out of him yet). This cool little restaurant is off the beaten path which I loved, and looked to be a local favorite. It is always a good sign when people are lined out the door. It is a small restaurant, but tables open up quickly. We were seated within 10 minutes and our server quickly took our orders. Huge omlettes arrived moments later with fresh ingredients and home-fries…delicious! The service was friendly and they knew their menu. They definitely have the breakfast thing down! We will definitely be back when in Tahoe.

Extremely small restaurant and its exterior is white… I was expecting to find a red hut. The food is mediocre, overpriced & the portions are small, but I’m glad we tried it. We will continue to find«our spot» when vacationing in Tahoe.

This place was everything the reviews said it was. Customer service: Great customer service from all the staff. Everyone smiled, welcomed me and made sure they checked on me often. Food: I had scrambled eggs w/cheese, sausage, hash browns, and a strawberry waffle. Scrambled eggs were very cheesy. Just how I like them. Everything was cooked to perfection and taste great. I highly recommend if you’re in the area. I made a 10 – 15 min walk from the Hardrock Hotel to see what this place was about and it was worth every step of the way.

Did my research on Unilocal and found this cozy little spot for Breakfast on our last day in Tahoe. It did not disappoint. We got seated right away. I ordered the Waffle sandwich, hubby ordered The Usual and our son ordered the ham and cheese omelet. All was delicious. We will stop by next time we are in Tahoe for more!!! The only reason I gave four instead of five stars was because our drinks were only refilled once but overall everything was good.

We decided to stop in for breakfast on our last day of vacation after searching for a good place on Unilocal. We found this location fairly easy although I’m sure many people have passed the unsuspecting white restaurant. We got in right away and were seated. The ambiance felt warm and inviting; definitely a locals place during the weekday. We looked over the menu and decided on the Waffle Sandwich(waffle, eggs, and bacon or sausage) for me and Dons Special(2 pancakes, eggs, and bacon or sausage) with a coffee for BF. The food took a little while to come out but it was worth the wait. I dove right into my eggs and meat before going to the holy grail of the waffle. BF followed suit. The eggs were cooked exactly the way we liked them, the bacon was crispy, and the sausage juicy. The pancakes and waffle didn’t disappoint either(yes, I sampled his meal)! Overall quaint little restaurant on the Nevada side with a good home style breakfast!
