My hubby was really in the mood for a buffet last week and decided to take me here. I believe we went on a Wednesday, which is apparently BOGO free for seniors — so it was mobbed! But once we finally got a table, things were good! I felt like there were PLENTY of options — this place is pretty huge. But I felt that the quality was just fine. Definitely clean. But nothing that felt gourmet or special. I mostly enjoyed the basics — chicken, sweet potatoes and broccoli. My husband ventured into desserts, but he said they weren’t great. I doubt we’d go back again considering it’s a pretty far drive for us and it wasn’t life-changing. But it’s a fine place to eat if you’re in the area and want a buffet.

I went to the Friday night All You Can Eat Crab legs. Now it even costs more money, yet it was the worse crab legs I have ever experienced. To begin with they were fishy smelling with a garlic odor, I guess trying to cover up the fishy smell. The crabs were filled with lots of water. Everyone was complaining how difficult they were to crack. Very disappointing. Everything else was very delicious. Just a huge disappointment.

There’s only a few Brunch Buffets and I frequent and Ameristar’s is one of them. They offer champagne brunch and they even offer a few types, mixed with OJ, Cranberry, plain or mixed with both. Their food offerings are a nice variety. My favs on this buffet: cauliflower gratin, french toast and made-to-order omelette station.

Meh. The food was OK. The only reason for 2 stars is because a roach ran along the trim on the wall by my table. I did not get sick so it was likely a roach that came in in a casino guest. Food tasted ok and décor wish nice.

Service is normally good, but the food is awful. The fried chicken use to be awesome but now its all precooked and stored in trays that they pull out when its running low. They don’t fry it fresh like Hollywood does. This means its incredibly dry and nasty. The current manager is completely worthless and just stares at you if you have a problem and bring it to his attention. He doesn’t apologize or offer a solution at all. Just stares at you. Don’t even think about going for the crab legs. They are consistently overcooked and served inside rusty containers! This is probably a health code violation and the manager doesn’t even care! He just stared at me when I showed him rust all over the bottom of the bucket they served me the crab legs in. A lot of times the crab legs are brownish and nasty tasting too. They buy extremely low quality crab legs. I use to go here 2 times a week when Rebecca was the manager and the food was good, but now its horrible and the current manager is beyond worthless.

This Buffet has returned to its rightful place as the best in St. Louis and one of the best in the country. I have not been to anything but brunch and recently lunch. The lunch was amazing. 3 styles of food are being served, homestyle, Italian, and Asian. I really enjoyed two standout items on the main serving area. The roast beef and the fried chicken. While the beef is served medium well to well done it does not hurt the flavor or tenderness of the beef. Just a great cut of beef. The Fried Chicken is some of the best I have eaten in a long time. Again cooked to perfection tender and juicy. The soup they serve is chicken noodle soup. This is homemade not canned chicken soup. I would come here just for a bowl of chicken soup. Glad to move them up two stars.

This buffet was by far the best buffet I have ever been too. It was very clean and neat. They had every food and dessert you could ever think of. We got one of almost everything! The potatoes are the best and the Chinese part was good too. The ribs were also delicious! It’s kind of pricey but worth it every once in awhile. Overall Satisfaction: 9⁄10 Taste: 9⁄10 Price: $ 25 a person Environment: relaxed with a very big location Service: 8⁄10

Man the food on the buffet was unbelievable. They had healthy hearty, fried, baked, and also boil foods. The dessert was also off the charts, along with fresh fruits, and vegetables.

First time here! Had lunch. Was pleasantly surprised. The flavor was a bit better than the other casino nearby. Plenty of variety. I really liked they had regular AND spicy fried chicken. They also had regular baked potatoes and sweet bake potatoes! They were very sweet, not dried out at all! The salmon was very popular and had breadcrumbs on top. I enjoyed all the veggies. Corn. Brussels sprouts. Broccoli. Green beans. Even grilled squash. My favorite was the green beans. Light and seasoned well. Some of the veggies were a bit salty though. The Asian section looked nice, the pot stickers were great. Nice pork flavor, skin crispy and a nice texture. Well cooked. There was chicken noodle soup and plenty of salad. Whoa they had plenty of dessert. The bread pudding looked awesome. I had the ice cream since they offered cake and sugar cone. It was the soft serve from the machine. A little chalky but ok. The chocolate machine was cool! They provided small cups so of chocolate so we wouldn’t contaminate the chocolate. They had pretzel rods, marshmallows, Rice Krispie treats and a few other things. I had the mint macaroon but will pass on that next time. Lots of pies, cake, and cookies too. If you enjoy buffets, this is a good one. I think lunch is $ 15.99.

First time to a buffet in years. Went on a Sunday late afternoon. We stood in line for about 25 minutes. There didn’t seem to be that many in front of us but there was a large party ahead of us of about 13. It took forever to ring every one through. .credit cards took forever. We finally paid and a girl strolled over to meet us and take us to our table. Honestly I’ve never been any place where someone moved the pace of a snail, then I realized none of the employees are exactly working fast. Lines were long… salad bar low. The food was marginal. My visit was nothing like those who reviewed this place prior. The man who took care of out table was the best of the visit.

We’ve been here many times and it’s always been good. If I were to compare it to *all* buffets it would probably be 5 stars; but I’m only comparing it to casino buffets due to the expense and environment. We’ve visited for lunch, dinner, and for the weekend champagne brunch. The brunch does include champagne, mimosa’s, etc., as part of the price which is nice if you like that — if not — well to me it’s not really worth the money for that. The lunch/dinner prices are reasonable; but definitely more than your ordinary buffets. The variety of food is more than reasonable; but it’s definitely not on par with the vegas buffets I’ve had — that’s not an issue for me; but if that’s your expectation then you’re likely not going to be very happy. The one notable exception is the dessert area as that’s very well done. The food itself is overall above average; there are items that are really good and some that are well not so good. One thing that stands out for me is their crab rangoon. That is one of my favorite foods and theirs is better than about any place I’ve been in the area. Another item that I’ve had there that I really liked were their cheeseburger egg rolls. Not something I’ve had elsewhere and they were surprisingly good. The couple of things I would point out are that the buffet at Hollywood Casino(formerly Harrah’s) seems to have more choices; and while this may or may not be fair as I said above it’s not comparable to the buffets I’ve had in Vegas. Considering the price I don’t necessarily hold that against them; but I also can’t give them five stars either. If I could do a ½ I would’ve went 4 ½; but since I can’t 4 it is. Not that service is normally a big deal at a buffet; but theirs is usually very good as well.

Best casino buffet around. Amazing price and awesome selection. Went here for the champagne brunch and couldn’t have been more pleased. The breakfast selection was a nice spread. The champagne was so good too. The service was spot on with refills and clearing empty plates. Will return soon!

The buffet food is great, but I just don’t think the dinner price($ 17.99!) is worth the variety, plus extra for crab legs.

The food is always fresh and hot. Five star service team. The toughest part of eating here is deciding what to eat. It all looks delicious.

The service and the staff was excellent. This is a place to eat a TON of unhealthy food that is not very good, but it very tempting to pig out. They have everything imagnable, but to me, this all seemed very low end. It is about $ 15 including beverage.

This was the only place near our hotel that was reasonably-priced and open after 4:00 p.m. yesterday. The dinner buffet was $ 15.99/each plus tax and it was WELL worth it. The selection was very good, the food was delicious, and the staff(servers plus hosts) were all quite friendly. I would even have given five stars(which I don’t normally do for buffets), but we had to walk a really long gauntlet of cigarette smoke to get to that restaurant(it’s way at the back of the main floor).

I NEVERGIVE5 stars but this place gets the exception. The landmark buffet at the ameristar has the best selection out of any buffet in the Metro area! The choice of food is second to none and the service is always top notch! This place makes harrahs buffet look like Golden Corral!

This was an ok Buffet. Tons of shrimp and meat to eat and bread so I was able to get a meal that didn’t have any dairy. The only side I could eat however were the baked potato or the baked sweet potato which was very good. The salad bar was big and fresh. The only two things on the dessert bar I could eat were strawberries and marshmallows. I asked the pastry chef. He was very nice, but there just wasn’t anything he could do for me. Wait staff was friendly and kept our drinks full and cleared the table quickly so we could get another plate. Price was ok for a buffet $ 15.99

Go here on Sunday for BRUNCH. Especially after a night of drinking with friends. There is something for everyone, and for that finicky stomach you are trying to stop from hurling last night up. Start off w/booze. Mimosa, Bellini, Champagne, whatever. Just do it. It’s included in the price. And, you know you need one this particular morning. This place has everything: the classics(bacon, eggs every which way, sausage, biscuts & gravy, pancakes, waffles, french toast, cereal, breakfast steak, hashbrowns, country potatoes, etc.), American(mac & cheese, meatloaf, country-fried steak, fried chicken, buscuits, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, etc), an extensive soup & salad bar, Italian(pizza of all kinds, pasta of all kinds, is there anything else?), Asian(you tell them what you want them to stir fry up for you, crab rangoon, eggrolls, pre-made entrees), and dessert(CHOCOLATEFOUNTAIN, every kind of cake, pie or pastry you could imagine, fruit, ice cream bar)… so much more I am probably leaving out. Great for families. There are a lot of them there. But I personally go to nurse a hangover… there’s a lot of people there for that too ;) It’s nice at time to be left to your own desires, choose what you want, how much you want, and eat your heart out. Is it the best food ever? No. It’s a buffet, but it’s good and they change out the food pretty frequently(so it’s fresh) because Sunday Brunch is popular.

Was invited to the Landmark Buffet for its Sunday champagne brunch(thanks Lulu!) Had a decent selection of food and some cool things that pushed this into 4 star territory. I’ll start with the food — standard brunch fare(breakfast: omelet station, Eggs Benedict, breakfast potatoes, bacon, sausage, French toast, pancakes; lunch: carved beef and ham, Chinese, pizza, salad bar). Everything was pretty good. A little bummed at the lack of waffles, and the gravy(for biscuits and gravy) was at a different location than the biscuits. And it was more«gravy for mashed potatoes» than biscuit gravy. Just being picky. But for what I had, it was pretty good. Let’s get to the major super awesome bonus points: in the dessert area, there’s one of those chocolate fountains, with strawberries, marshmallows, pretzels, and something else(memory is failing me). I was tempted to stick my bacon in there, but felt that would be rude. The second, and most important awesome bonus is the champagne. It’s Wycliffe again(the«official Champagne of Brunch»), which is fine — it’s a decent enough. What is awesome is that you didn’t have to rely on a server to bring you refills. They have a Champagne station where YOUGOANDPICKUPGLASSESWHENYOUWANTANOTHER. That’s just wicked awesome. Plus, they had various berries for you to drop in your glass. For parties of 8 or more, they automatically add an 18% gratuity to your bill, but that’s nothing massively horrible. Plus our server was around enough to clear plates and replenish silverware that it was worth it. If it wasn’t so far away…
